This was my husbands and I first time to the Atascocita Berkeley Eye Center.The office was very clean and neat. He saw Dr. Schrum and I saw Dr. Hilton. The front office staff was very professional and helpful from the very start. Wait time was like less than 20 minutes. My husband had nothing to say but good things about Dr. Schrum. He was very knowledgeable, professional, and gave a thorough eye exam. Dr. Hilton was very nice, knowledgable, and very thorough as well. He explained that I did need glasses and what would be best for me. The young lady that helped me with my glasses was very professional and knowlegetable as well and helped me pick out frames and gave me different options to choose from . I would highly reccommend Dr. Schrum and Dr. Hilton.

I have worn glasses all my life, but when it came time that I no longer could see as good as I should with my glasses, cataract surgery was no longer an option. It was that time in my life that I was not looking forward to. But after some research, I made the decision to choose the best.. and the BEST I did find... Dr. K. Ray Shrum with Berkeley Eye Center in Atascocita and his staff. When I came out of the surgery, which was painless and only took just a few minutes, I could see the faces of people and things all around me that I could not have before. Thank you Dr. Shrum for giving me my eye site back for which i will always be truly grateful. John Foster

Went in to have a procedure done on my eye and was not told I would be charged $92 just to walk in the door, in addition the actual cost of the procedure. Even my doctor doesnt charge this much. I was in the office less than 10 min and charged an insane amount. Then when I call the billing office I get a voicemail and no return call., I have been trying to call for 3 weeks with no one to answer or return my call. Horrible customer service. Was planning to have Lasik done with them next year but will be finding a new place to go. Highly disappointed!

My son woke up one morning with eye pain and redness. I was concerned that he may have a corneal abrasion so I called Dr. Shrums office right away. His staff worked him in that same afternoon. The staff at the Berkley Eye Center in Atascocita were so friendly and courteous. Dr. Shrum was also very friendly. He is very knowledgeable and efficient. We were in and out of the office in less than 45 minutes.

I needed cataract surgery. I contacted Dr. Shrums office for an appointment. The wait time for an appt was short. I love the email appointment reminders, the staff is friendly (it is obvious they love their jobs), the efficiency is incredible. My family have been clients here since we moved to the area in 2010. Everyone is friendly and I have never had to wait past my appointment time to be seen. Visiting a physician of any specialty is usually not the funnest thing in the world, but it helps when the staff at an office makes the visit pleasant, efficient, and worth your time. This office does it all.

Dr. Shrum did cataract surgery on my right eye yesterday, July 14, 2017 and I have never seen better. Its like night and day! I feel like a young man again. The staff is always hospitable and they go the extra mile. Ive been a patient of doctor Shrums for several years and would recommend him to anyone needing a great ophthalmologist . Dr. Shrum Rocks!

Went in as a walk in not knowing if I was going to be taken after having an emergency on my eye. I was taken in immediately, saw Dr. Hilton and he fixed me up. The whole staff is very nice including Dr. Hilton as this is where my family comes for contacts and glasses. Would recommend anyone to come visit Berkeley in Atascocita, you wont be disappointed!

Dr. Shrum and his staff are very professional and my experience was excellent. Opthamologists have a very detailed and hard job to perform when examining peoples eyes....and sometimes that could be interpreted as "not good bedside manners".....however, that is not the case here. Dr. Shrum was thorough and delightful and so was his staff.

Ive been going to see Dr. Ray Shrum for about 13 years since he treated me for a contact lens that got caught up in the back of my eye for an entire day. He came out to his office to meet me on a Sunday in the evening, just to treat me. I have been extremely happy with the care and friendliness of everyone in the office ever since.

Dr. Shrum s office was great!! I was coming for a second opinion from the Costco optometrist who gave me an extremely wrong prescription for contacts & glasses. Dr. Shrum gave me a correct prescription right away and also diagnosed me with papillary inflammation that was overlooked before. I will be seeing Dr. Shrum from now on!!

I dont go to the ophthalmologist a lot but when I do I see Dr. Shrum. What I like about him is when he does the eye exam he does it in a way that I understand what 1-2, 2-3, 3-4 is and he doesnt do it too fast that you cant focus and see a different. Plus Dr. Shrum always walks you out and the staff is so nice and gracious.

The Atascocita staff members always make sure to greet me politely when I enter. They are friendly and cordial, even when they are busy or many patients are waiting in the wait room. On the phone, they are calm and polite. Someone is usually available to answer questions of Spanish-speaking patients, which is great.

I liked the fact that Dr. Hilton showed me the difference in what I would see with my new prescription vs. my old prescription. Laura was very helpful in helping me pick out my new frames and options. All in all, the best of experiences!
