I just left Dr. Dewitts clinic in tears after being left for over an hour after my appointment then being insulted by Dr. Dewitt. My appointment was for 4:00 pm and I was left in the examination room for over an hour . When dr Dewitt did show up he took a look at me and said "I dont know what is wrong here is a prescription if it dousnt get better in 14 weeks come back." he then proceeded to tell me how over weight i was and that "If your not carful by the time your son is eight he will be just like you" to which I replied he is a very good eater. He then said " If he grows up seeing your figure(making hand guestures) he will look just like you." I am appauled at the unprofessional manner in which Dr. Dewitt addressed me and I will never return to this clinic and advise anyone else not to either.

Ive been going there for over a decade. Its not just the doctor, but all the staff that I appreciate. They have good advice, are caring but blunt, and even take time to help me answer insurance issues to the extent they can. They have helped me out when Ive been poor and make referrals easy. Sometimes its not nice to hear you need to drink less or be less fat, but doctors arent supposed to fluff your ego like a grandma, theyre supposed to give medical direction or advice.

Dr. Dewitt actually told me he doesnt have time to look up anything about my particular disability...nice. His delinquent care resulted in a fever and cough turning into pneumonia. I literally saw him 2 hours after my scheduled appointment the last time I was there. TWO HOURS. He should have paid me! And his get rich quick to retire stint (that no one would do) makes me sick. I will never return.

By now, I have seen Dr. Dewitt twice. He is thorough in his exams and diagnosis. Takes his time, and allow plenty of time to ask questions. He provides helpful insight, and gives examples to give perspective to his advice. The wait time is more than what I expected for a medical offices, but that does not take away from quality of care he is providing, I am happy.

Dr Dewitt is very thorough and is blunt in my experience. I found that refreshing in a GP. I didnt need validation that it was ok to continue with my current patterns. You can deal now with lifestyle changes or deal with surgeons, medication, and dependency on your children later.
