When I was pregnant with my son back in 13-14, I had Dr. Shum and he was wonderful. Ive recently just found out that Im pregnant again, thought I would go through Wellness Pointe again because of my good experience but Im starting to regret it now. Dr. Shum is no longer there so I chose another dr. This last week and a half, almost two weeks have been awful. I went in for bloodwork and ultrasound and I was told both times that they would call me. I never received any calls, so I ended up calling with both results. They havent been able to tell me much at all. I talked to a sweet girl named Carmen who was so helpful. But every time I call, I am transferred to a nurse station which just rings and goes to voicemail. This week alone I cant tell you how many times Ive called and no one answers and Im left to leave voicemails. And have yet to get a call back from anyone. Ive been trying and trying to get ahold of someone who can tell me something. Just something... Ive waited and tried to be patient but I cant anymore. Its very unprofessional and theres NO sense of urgency, whatsoever. NONE. They do not call you back when they say they will, its a challenge and youll waste your day trying to get someone on the phone. And leave multiple messages with the "appointment line" because theres no voicemail box for anything else in options when you call. Even after hours. Never get a callback... Its ridiculous. I feel like Im just up in the air. I have no idea whats going on and I cant even get ahold of anyone or have anyone contact me. Ive already called another dr office. Im hoping I can go there and get the care I need because Im not getting it here.

I am a medical field worker of 18 years. Ive never treated my patients like this place has done me. When checking in, had to refill out paperwork that I previously filled out even though my insurance information is in the computers. The assistances or MAs, had me perform tests failing to identify what these tests were for... Piss in this cup. Afterwards, urine samples are asked to be placed in stainless steal window in bathroom. You are not given a lid for your collection, you place your sample next to another sample that also is not contained. Exposure or cross contamination could result. No clean wipe process has ever been enforced during these test. You have to ask the MA what you are being tested for and never received any results of these tests. Physician (African) became, argumentative and angry when I refused a vaccination (vaccinations are by choice, no one can make you do something you dont want to do). You have a right to a second opinion. When I asked to speak to a supervisor, I was directed to "a" supervisor who was not qualified to address my problem. Very unsympathetic, uncompassionate, and not willing to hear my situation. Next day, went to search for another Doctor for my care to be under and was "black listed" or "black balled" via medical records from this facility. You have a right to be free of all abuse and not to be bullied or pressured into doing anything that goes against your judgement.

I went to the Wellness Pointe-Longview back in August of 2011 for a cleaning and extraction. The evaluation and cleaning went great but boy when it got the extraction it was horrible!!! I chose them because they offered a sliding scale for low-income individuals or people without insurance. The evaluation and cleaning went great but boy when it came to the extraction it was a horrible experience!!! The doctor (older gentlemen w/glasses) numbed the area and told me to inform the nurse when I felt my lower lip tingle then become numb…….it never happened and he still decided to proceed with the procedure. I FELT EVERYTHING!! When I told him that it hurt he was like “ooh that’s just pressure”, and I was like, NO, pressure and pain are two different feelings. He attempted to numb it some more and it didn’t help. He finally got the extraction out after a little too much tugging and pulling….they gave me a discount because he didn’t perform the extraction correctly. A couple of weeks later my friend went to them and had the same dentist and he went thru the same thing with the lack of numbness and the doctor pulling his tooth incorrectly. I would advise anyone to just save up and go to someone who cares more that you’re comfortable and knows what they’re doing.

Speaking as someone who has had to go to this clinic numerous times over the last few years (theyre one of the few that accept Medicaid or charge according to your income) this is the worst place Ive had to deal with, by FAR. Because the majority of their patients are only covered by Medicaid, the Dr.s are average at best and the rest of the staff either doesnt know what they are talking about or doesnt care. To have to talk to someone over the phone is a nightmare; EVERY time you call they either dont answer, and you leave a message that is never returned, or you have the pleasure of speaking to someone who is either doing something more important while they are talking to you as the entire conversation consists of them repeatedly asking you questions youve already given the answer to, or just too dumb/aloof to have a simple back and forth with another with another human being. Then, if they cant help, lucky you gets transferred to someone else who doesnt answer the phone so you just keep getting routed back to the same person who doesnt know anything until they finally hang up on you. Fun!

I have had the worst experience EVER! I went to see my regular doctor for a routine depo shot. Well, they changed things and you no longer see a doctor just the nurse practitioner. I needed a specific medication and ANOTHER doctor wrote out a prescription for something new. Well, after I started the medication I had a severe allergic reaction to to it. I came back because I was in so much pain. Yet again, I didnt get to see MY doctor after being in the lobby for an hr and a half. Then, he promised to send over a prescription and I did not receive one! They need better organization skills and people who actually care about people!

After learning of a friend who needed help obtaining an appointment for her grandchildren at Wellness Pointe, I reached out to Jeff Brown. Jeff was prompt, kind, courteous and was able to assist in getting the children appointments. He then followed up with me to make sure that my friend was well taken care of and asked how else Wellness Pointe could serve them. He offered help and suggestions on other ways to help this family which showed me that his heart is truly in his work. Longview is blessed to have such a facility and people who believe deeply in their work.

Kristi Saxon is a wonderful and caring practitioner. I am thankful for her kind and patient demeanor during our recent experience at Wellness Pointe. She is knowledgeable and reassuring to her clients that arrive in her care less than prepared for pregnancy. Her extensive knowledge is delivered in a calming bedside manor. I am thankful that Kristi chooses to share her love for mother and unborn children with the families in Longview. We are surely blessed. I am thankful to have a board certified midwife to assist us on our journey.
