I do like the doctors, and they care about their patients which is very obvious, but from what I see, there are too many patients being shuffled around to numerous doctors so one hand doesnt know what the other is doing or has done. We have gone in for medications twice recently, and trying to get the correct medicine my child desperately needs has just been a nightmare. The first time, I told the doc exactly what my child needed. When I got to the pharmacy, they had a prescription that my child cannot take. I live 35 minutes away from Porter, so I called the office. I was told that particular doctor who we saw was on a three week vacation and I would have to bring my child back to see another doctor. I brought my child back to see another doctor, and when I got to the pharmacy this time, the doctor had prescribed the wrong dosage. After days and days of leaving messages, I just gave up and let my child take the lower dosage which wasnt effective enough. A few months later, I take my child back for a monthly med check, and I tell the doctor that my childs problem is getting worse by the day, and he/she needs a referral to a specialist. The doctor tells me to wait on the specialist because he is afraid the specialist will just prescribe more medicine on top of the original. He tells my child to try exercising instead and give it a month to see how it goes. So, we go again for a med check a month later. We see a different doctor so I have to go over the problem once again from the beginning. This doctor agrees that a referral is needed asap and to call in medicine to hold my child over until the visit to the specialist. I get to the pharmacy, and no medicine has been called in. On top of it all, I misplaced the referral with the new docs name and number. I call the office and am told I will get a call back the next day which I do not. So, I call again the day after that. I am told the doctor we saw will be out of the office for ten days, but her nurse will call me back the next day. I still get no phone call. I am so frustrated at this point. I decide I will just help my child through this until the doc returns and clears up the problem. Meanwhile, my childs symptoms get alarmingly worse, but it isnt something that can be treated in an ER. I call back and ask if the doctor is back and tell the receptionist how long I have been trying to sort this out. At this point, she does have a nurse return my call. The nurse tells me we need to come back in for a med check. I tell her we did that about three weeks before, but I couldnt get anyone to respond to my requests. They insisted that we need to come in anyway even though my child has taken this medicine for two years. Then, I am told that unless I have made an appointment with the specialist, they wont give us the original medicine to hold us over until we can get to a specialist. I explain again that I have no number for the specialist because I was told that someone would call me back with that number. By this time, I am so frustrated that I am in tears. My aim is to get help for my child who is suffering. A nurse called back with the number. I agreed to make an appointment asap with the specialist, but I still didnt get the much needed prescription. I call the specialist that the nurse assures me will take my child and am informed that the doctor is no longer accepting new patients. I call Porter Pediatrics back and leave a tearful message. By this time I am feeling like the situation is hopeless. Surprise! The nurse calls back and tells me that although I will have to bring my child back in the next day, they will set my child up with the specialist at that appointment. This experience almost made me need a specialist! My child turns 18 soon, and I cant wait to move on. Hopefully it will be somewhere closer with doctors and staff who have it all together.

Ive been bringing my kids here for 6 years now. Its not perfect. Wait times are fairly long, but overall, Ive been very happy with the care we have received. Ive never had trouble getting an appointment on short notice (which probably accounts for the longer wait times), but when you have a sick child, its comforting to be able to get seen right away. The main doctors we see are Dr. Sheila and Dr. Andreas. I like the way they listen to my concerns and provide good treatment options. They are very friendly and personable and dont talk down to you like some doctors tend to do. They do have other doctors there, but we have felt most comfortable with one of those two, so ask for them when scheduling an appointment. I prefer to go the natural route if safe and a good option, and with both of these doctors I feel like they work with my preferences and give me good advice about when to medicate and when I can try something else first. The nurses are generally pretty nice. A few of the older ones are a little grumpy, but overall, they do a good job and are really nice and friendly. The clinic is clean and has a friendly atmosphere. It is a busy place with a lot of traffic, but they do good work. Recommend.

Ok, I never write reviews but I certainly am for here. The only place to take my insurance, so we stayed here for 4 months before I gave up on them. my baby is allergic to dairy, I had to figure that out on my own, after months of hives, and throwing up constantly, dr wasnt even concerned. Every time we left they would forget to give us the medication, or vitamins she would say she would send home with me, The older nurse was TERRIBLE at giving monthly shots. TERRIBLE! gave the wrong vaccines to my baby, and plus I couldnt understand her when I would ask questions, she would get frustrated with me. PLUS WAIT TIME WAS THREE HOURS WITH APPOINTMENT!!!

Ive been going here a long time. My youngest daughters Medicaid was cut off, which i found out and immediately submitted another app.. Medicaid pays for Dr visits, up to 3 months before..but because The site was down and they couldnt check and be sure, they asked that i pay instead.. no cash on me, left wallet at home, only open for a little while today, Saturday. So i had to go elsewhere, with my 1 yay old, very sick baby... the Office staff is very rude. Transferring back to where i used to go, after i complain to the owner and the state.

Love how much Dr Nikolaidis cares about his patients but I gotta say I stopped going there because the place sucks with appointments & times . I had an appointment at 8 got there 7:30 & the doctor saw my kid till 10:30 . Besides all the front desk ladies are so rude ! I feel bad because I truly like Dr Nikolaidis but he needs to get better staff
