Let me begin by saying I have never left a bad review. But after the way I was treated while in this office, I left in the worst mood possible. I legitimately scheduled my appointment for one thing: to get my chipped tooth fix. I stated that upon making the appointment and continuously reminded every person who came in to look at my teeth. I was persuaded into taking X-rays, and a cleaning, all with the understanding that afterwards my tooth would be fixed. After almost receiving yet a second cleaning (due to lack of communication in the office) I was told by the dentist that she would definitely have time to fix my tooth now that she "didnt have to clean my teeth after all" and whenever I said I agreed to her method of fixing my tooth she sent in someone to go over the payment options with me. After waiting 15 minutes for this, Naomi (the insurance advisor) came in and became extremely rude and condescending whenever I explained to her that I was not interested in two "recommended fillings". I explained that my husband would be in the military and I would take care of any fillings through them once I moved. I then repeated that I was only there for my chipped tooth. Naomi then stated that she "wasnt sure why I was bringing up the military because it had nothing to do with this". Whenever I told her I only cared to see payment for my chipped tooth, she then informed me that the dentist would not have time to see me after all. I asked her how much I owed them and left, Ive never been so upset after leaving a dentist office before, I will definitely not be returning.

After reading some of the negative/positive reviews, I knew I had to post my experience with Dolby Family Dentistry. Very nice experience. Nice staff, clean office, nice location, awesome dentist. Can treat young children to elderly adults. As for the rude employee, she must no longer be there because I did not have a bad experience with staff at all. Services were reasonably priced. I was informed in detail as to what was wrong and what needed to be done. I would recommend this dental office to anyone who needs a dentist; family, friends or someone off the street.

My wife brought her son here for a teeth cleaning prior to having his braces put on. We were given an x-ray and an explanation that he had 3 cavities which needed to be filled. We cancelled the braces appointment and brought the boy to Garrison Family Dentistry in San Antonio, and the dentist viewed the x-rays taken at Dolby, examined his teeth, and explained that he had NO cavities, and that one area simply needed a sealer. So Dolby wanted $540 to fix 3 cavities, and Garrison Family Dentistry charged $45. Go figure! Second opinions really do pay off sometimes.

I have never written a google review before, but after my phone conversation this morning regarding my appointment, I felt a review was warranted. While my experience with the dentist and hygienists during a previous visit were very pleasant, the receptionist / insurance coordinator has to be one of the most impersonal, condescending, rude people Ive ever encountered in that position. I will not be back to that office.

Dr. Gwen and her staff are friendly, prompt and processional. You can easily schedule for emergencies. My husband and I have been a loyal patient for several years, and wouldnt consider going elsewhere.
