My daughter a college student received an written quote from Chris Masters the Office Manager for braces of $2,500+/-. She called Chris and asked if he could do better on the price. He said he thought he could and for her to come into the office to go over it. She did today he quoted her over $4,000 for the same work. She asked why and he said the other written quote was a promotion even though he never said that and it is not on the written quote. This is a typical bait & switch. He was attempting to take advantage of a young person. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Subject: RE: Bait & Switch - Business Practice (The Smile Generation) Importance: High Marcie, Here’s the update!!!! Please contact me to get this resolved. Thank you. Today my daughter talked to Chris Masters the office Manager and he said he would honor his written & verbal confirmed quote. He set an appt for her to begin her braces. Christina called me this morning very pleased to let me know. This afternoon, just before she is set to take her mid-terms Chris calls her and tells her he is canceling her appt. He is not going to honor his written quote, his verbal quote or anything he said this morning because his Dr. is an independent contractor and wants to make more money. This is insane. How a business pays their staff has no bearing on a commitment to a customer of that business. Chris has made a bad situation worse. He clearly has violated the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act. (DPTA). Tomorrow is Friday and I am requiring that this issue be resolved to our satisfaction. Below is how they represent themselves - --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Pacific Dental Services® is founded on a core set of values that guide our daily lives, distinguish the strength and character of our organization, and direct all our critical decisions. The worst administrative team. After more than several phone calls to correct repeated errors for treatment through the Veterans Administration , two (2) months have gone by with the initial intake dated April 19, 2016, today is the 23rd of June 2016. Repeating the same error several times, the V.A. still indicated that they only received the bill for the initial intake, which I also have a copy of...no indication or record requesting authorization for follow up treatment from this clinic. I spoke to the "supervisor" because after four (4) attempts to correct a simple error like a birth year, he was bothered and got a little snooty because yes, I said It demonstrates incompetence after four (4) apologies and four (4) attempts to correct it. I placed the calls on Friday May 20, Tuesday May 24, Thursday May 26 and again Monday May 30. I made sure I used my cell phone to record and date each call. Im presently sitting at the Data Point clinic on emergency because of an infection, swelling, severe pain on the right side of my face and head and an unpleasant secretion. What good is it to have "modern dentistry" if the administrative section are operating below standard and cannot follow through with what is a simple administrative procedure? Time to move on... June 23, 2016 4:09 P.M. Ive just returned from a very painful and uncomfortable experience at the V.A. but at least they saw me immediately on emergency basis. AGAIN, the doctor (dentist) that saw me initially accessed my dental records through the main provider for the South Texas Veterans Healthcare System and confirmed that the only thing this Stone Oak "Modern Dentistry" submitted was a bill which they sent me a copy of, and no record found for a request and follow up...2 MONTHS AND 4 DAYS ago. The clerk and/or rep I spoke to at the same facility already confirmed this. Lots of talk but no action. Maybe theyre not really set up to assist veterans or care to.

WHAT A DISASTER! My wife and I went in for a checkup, and I came out with an "estimate" for $11,500 in "necessary" dental work. She needed a root canal that they said they could do there... Until they couldnt.... They started the procedure but they caused my wife so much pain they finally had to stop and said it was beyond their ability to complete and referred us to an Endodontist. She has had numerous root canals and said this was the worst experience of her life. She walked away with a very swollen jaw and a large dark bruise that started at her jaw and extended down her throat. Obviously, we refused to pay for this abuse of trust. To add insult to injury they quoted over $2,500 for her work; root canal, crown and new partial. The root canal was supposed to cost $220. They said they would need to do a new partial because it might not fit the crown. We replied, "Why not make the crown fit the partial, since you can make the crown to any shape."... Duh(!?!) They never "thought" of this. This "saved" us $1,300. The partial was in great shape and didnt need replacement at all. The $220 root canal ended up costing us about $1,300 out of pocket. If you want unprofessional treatment and a laundry list of "required" dental procedures go to them. If you want a chance at a better experience go anywhere else. We used to go to "professionals" for a professional opinion about what we needed done for our good health, not to give them a license to steal from us.

I called them to make an appointment and before doing so specifically asked if they treat children as young as 6. They said yes. I booked my husband and 2 children for dental cleanings. After their cleanings it was found my 6yo had 4 cavities, 2 molars & 2 baby teeth. They told us he would have to be seen at their other pediatric site to be evaluated as to what needed done. Didnt they tell me they treat young children here? Why pay for an additional appointment at a sister location if they said they treat them there? Upon getting ready to pay the bill my husband noticed an extra $800 charge & asked what that was for. They said we noticed some wear on your teeth so you need a mouth guard. He told them no thank you and they took it off. They never even discussed or asked him about it, they were just going to charge him for what they thought he needed regardless. When we took my 6yo to their other location for an evaluation they said he needed caps on all 4 teeth and would cost us around $400. Really? 2 of the cavities were baby teeth and would fall out soon enough so why not just fill them for less? It is our experience this business cares more about what extra expenses they can get from you rather than being practical and caring for the real needs of the patient. Would not recommend this place to anyone.
