never never again "On November 17, 2014 we had a yearly eye exam. When we walked in I explained that I (Sharon Reeve) have diabetes and they bill medical insurance (Cigna) and Patricks exam would be paid by EYE MED, same as last year. The receptionist informed us that they no longer bill Eye Med. I asked why, and her response shocked me. "Eye Med insurance is for places like Wal Mart". How arrogant of her to insinuate that the insurance my husband works hard to pay for isnt good enough for them. They billed Eye Med in September of 2013 and were fully paid. Not only that but after our exams, we asked if there was any change to our perscriptions. We were told by the same receptionist that the tech was too busy to come to the desk to speak with us. We were in this office of approximately 45 minutes, saw the eye doctor. I even asked him if there was any change in my eyes, and he said I would need to speak to the tech. Also the eye doctor informed Patrick that his needs catarack surgery. Again, no written information about this surgery. Alta View managed to send us a bill for $150 (co pay), however, we have never received any information on cataract surgery or if there are any changes to our eye perscriptions. I am having problems seeing street signs and get headaches when I use the computer. I did mention this to the eye tech. A BIG CAUTION to anyone receiving service here or thinking about using them. They are a shady group of people who are more interested in making a buck than in helping you. My wife went into this clinic to get an exam and a prescription. We were to take that prescription and have it filled at an in-network provider who accepts our lens benefit. The lady at the front desk insisted that their lenses were covered and that they were an in-network provider. Come to find out, they are not and never were. The lady I spoke with to describe my concerns said that her staff would never do something like that and we would have to deal with it. Again, my caution to anyone using their service. DO NOT LISTEN when they say "let me show you what your benefit covers" or "dont worry, we are an in-network provider." They are either being shady to make sure your money goes to them instead of your lens provider or they are incompetent and really do not know.

This eye clinic is very attractive. The staff welcomed me and helped with the paper work. I was very satisfied when the nurse took me to the exam room to prepare the doctor of my concerns. When Dr. Barnes came in he was extremely friendly, introducing himself and asking what my issues were. He listened and for that alone I was impressed. He examined my eyes and right away knew what the problem was. His bedside manner was wonderful as he explained what his finding had been. I would recommend this doctor to anyone who needs eye care. Thank you staff and doctor.

Horrible customer service, they never properly billed the correct insurance and never called us to keep us up to dated on the situation, therefor they sent us to collections for a mistake they made on their end. The people who do work their at the office are not very nice and treat you like dirt.
