I hadnt been to the eye doctor for a few years, and my previous eye doctor wasnt covered on our insurance, so I decided to go here since this place is on our insurance. The staff were friendly, and the place was nice. The issue I had was when it came to the exam results. I took the reading glasses I had so that they could get the prescription from them since I didnt know what it was, and then I had two different technicians do eye tests on me, one before my eyes were dilated, and one after. And then when the doctor came in he told me that I showed 3 different prescriptions (my glasses and the 2 different eye tests from 2 different technicians), so he told me that with them all being different he couldnt really com to a conclusion on what prescription I had. He then told me that I probably didnt need my glasses. I tried going without them, and it wasnt good on my eyes. Then the bill came and I was expecting my insurance to cover the whole exam since it was preventative, and they did, all except for the reading on my glasses to see what prescription they were, that wasnt covered. I was very irritated with this since no one ever mentioned that this service was going to be charged to me, if I would have know that it was going to cost me, I would have just contacted my previous eye doctor to get the prescription of my glasses.

I have never come across such a rude, ignorant receptionist before this! I called to set up an appointment for a spanish-speaking friends child (who does speak english) and right off the receptionist was very hesitant to set up an appointment. I explained that the child is very fluent in english and that he would not need any type of translator & that his mother did not speak english but she trusted the doctor enough to put her son in his hands in regards to the child needing glasses or not- but the receptionist said that the mom needed to bring an interpreter with her. At this point I was getting frustrated with the receptionist so I bluntly asked her if they only saw english speaking poeple and she answered YES. She was very short with me & I just dont understand how when it comes to a child being able to see or not should come down to whether his parent speaks english or not. I understand how this could be a problem if the patient didnt speak english, but at the same time I know that eye exams can be done on deaf people and infants who dont speak. Needless to say that we will find a business who is more interested in helping people see.

I take my Grandma here for her eye appointments and no matter the day or time of the appointment, we ALWAYS have to wait. I realize its "normal" to have a short wait time at the doctors office but waiting upwards of 45 minutes to well-over an hour for EVERY appointment is absolutely ridiculous. My Grandma is 93 years old and in great health, however, waiting an hour in the lobby just to be moved to another room to wait more really takes it out of her (and me!) I called ahead before her last appointment to make sure the office was running on time and was told "Yes." Unfortunately, after arriving for her appointment, we waited a solid hour in the lobby. I found one of the nurses who I relayed the info that "they were supposed to be running on time" and she looked shocked. She said we had at least ANOTHER HOUR before wed be seen. How does this happen!? I still cant wrap my head around it. The only redeeming factor about this place is that the doctor and nurses we see are really great. Its just extremely unfortunate that we have to go through this every time to be seen by them. We will be looking elsewhere for future appointments.

I had laser corrective surgery performed by Dr. Dastrup. The results were better than I couldve hoped. I wish I had done this years ago! Dr. Dastrups work was impeccable. This is definitely a doctor I would recommend to anyone needing this kind of delicate surgery. I wouldnt trust just anyone to operate on my eyes, but after my initial consultation with Dr. Dastrup, I knew I was in good hands. He laid out every possible risk involved in my procedure, including the specific probability of each outcome. There were different directions to go in my particular case, and he was able to explain the subtle advantages and potential risks connected to each procedure. He didnt use vague generalities when explaining things. He was highly informed and took time to help me really understand. Excellent doctor, great outcome.

Parents beware: NOT KID FRIENDLY!!! Took three of my kids on two seperate occasions. The receptionists are great, Dr. Richards was ok, but every other staff member we worked with was rude and had a bad attitude both times. One lady was even mean to my four year old daughter, snapped at her for trying to play with her!!! Another staff member was rough with my nine year old daughter during the exam! I almost went into protective mom mode. None of them were patient with my or my kids questions. Plus, we couldnt even get our glasses because they neglected to tell us our insurance was only good for the exams after I specifically asked if they accepted our insurance. On the second visit we were there for three hours for one kid and only recieved an eye exam. NEVER going back!!!

These people are very rude if you ask them any questions. They refuse me on my return visit because I would not give them my SS#. I asked them why they needed it, they told me that they need to be sure I am. I showed them my drivers license but they still refuse to let me see the doctor. I requested my money back and they told me to call a number. I called that number over and over again and I finally had to get DOPL involved to get my money back. I would stay away from this company if you can. They seem very nice when you first meet them but watch out.

Horrible customer service! If you can find a different place to go I would. I waited for 2 hours to be seen. When I approached the staff to ask if I was forgotten about I was told with an eye roll "No go back to your exam room, and wait." after blindly looking for my exam room cause the lady was to lazy to help me the dr conveniently walked in seconds after. After I explained the situation it was handled HORRIBLY no respect for me or my time. So if you would like to be respect as a person and not just $$ I would say find somewhere else

Even my first impression of this place was a bad one! I should have stopped making the appointment the minute things went south on the phone. The Mary "something" lady that made my appointment was horribly rude. Every time I asked a question she got shorter and shorter with me and towards the end of the phone call she was almost yelling at me. She treated me like I was dumber than dirt. What a lady. Then at my appointment I waited forever and day to be seen and then the techs were none too nice as well. Wont be going back.
