We moved to VA few months back and was recommended by a friend about Dr. Pippin. I made my appointment on May 12, 2011. Took half day personal time off from work. My appointment was at 4.00, I reached there at 3.30 to fill the necessary paperworks. At 4.08 pm I was escorted by the nurse, after taking my wieght and blood pressure she requested me to wait in the room and the doctor will see me shortly. I waited until 4.35 pm, nobody showed. I walked to the front desk and asked what time the doctor will see me. She suggested shortly. I waited until 4.55 pm and nobody showed up, I walked out and requested the spoke to the front desk personnel, that I have wasted an hour just to see the doctor, she said that doctor really spends a lot of time with her patients. I told her I have wasted an hour of time which will never come nobody can bring that time back which I just wasted sitting in the room waiting for the docotor to come and see me. The time could be spent with the family, Alas when will the doctors respect other paitents time. I would not recommend anybody to go visit a doctor who does not respect other human beings time equally important.

This is the most unprofessional and poorly run medical practice I have ever experienced. I was misdiagnosed with Lyme Disease and told to take medication I didnt need because the nurse read the lab results stating "P" for "pending" as a "positive." This same nurse noted my pulse at "30" beats per minute until I told her that it was impossible and she needed to double the number because there are 60 seconds, not 30, in a minute. Additionally, she had to leave the room several times to ask what type of blood test I needed. This same nurse called me to inform me that I had a type of BRAIN TUMOR, however had the inability to answer any questions and left me hysterical after office hours were closed. This TUMOR did not even exist. After switching doctors, and attempting to have my medical records released, I discovered my record was sent to a third party health record company without my permission to do so. DONT bother risking your health or sanity by using this facility.

I went here for about 4 years. Although I liked their doctors (saw mostly Peyton and Saksena; saw Overton a couple times. Their nurse practitioner Cox was also lovely.) the office staff and nurses are horrendous. They never seem to care that the majority of time you come in you feel awful (little to no sympathy.) The office and their paperwork is usually a mess billing wise and heaven forbid you need important test results back. Every time the nurse seemed to forget to give me a call back unless it was a test Dr. Saksena ordered and was worried about because I always felt like she watched those to make sure they got to me. All the others I ended up calling to find out what happened and the office and nurses seemed to have no clue about the test, where my chart was or who to task to find out. I called to make an appointment a bit ago and found out that both Dr. Peyton and Saksena left to start their own practice. It was a no brainer to leave Heritage myself.

Ive been a patient of Dr. Overtons for close to 20 years now, and I have had nothing but excellent service -- from Dr. Overton to the other doctors to the office staff. Ive gone in for everything from routine checkups to emergency stitches -- the latter of which were so well done that I was saved from likely plastic surgery. Yes, the office can be busy at times -- theyre fairly in demand -- but whenever there are delays, theyve been nothing but courteous. (I try to be understanding when another patient has to be rushed to the hospital. It happens.) Theyve also been great about scheduling appointments quickly. But the real advantage of this practice is that they will remember past issues and problems Ive had -- even when I havent been back in months (or longer -- Im bad about going to the doctor regularly). A true *family* practice. Ive actually moved out of the immediate area, but *still* return. Its worth going out of my way to stay there.

I would not give this practice even 1 star. I went to get blood work and some other tests done, and after 3 weeks of no call with my results, i called the office. The lady sounded confused and asked if i was sure that i had these tests done!!!! Coincidentally, she called me back the next day saying everything was fine! YEAH RIGHT!! Later, i was misinformed by one of the Doctors regarding pricing, and when I asked to speak to the Office Director, he called me a LIAR! And how there doctors would not have said that! Because i have nothing better to do than lie after 1 year of calling the office and trying to figure out the bill i was sent!!!!!! He was horrible and definately should not be dealing with Customer service!!! I also called the president to inform him that i did not appreciate being called a LIAR and he said NOTHING!!!!! No apology, nothing!! I will NEVER go there again, and never recommend anyone either.

We just moved to No.VA and thought we would give Dr. Pippin a try since she was recommended in two magazines at top Doctor. Who rates them?! After waiting nearly an hour in my robe in patient room, Dr. Pippin arrived only leave me with more questions than I came with. I was just there for a routine check up and she did nothing to advise me on a medication I was taking or one that I thought I should have. Arent doctors suppose to advise their partients? There were a million people in there and the office itself leave much to be desired. Wont be going back and would not recommend.

I am a long-time patient of Heritage and have not had the same problems as the others describe here. Access has been fine, waits are not outside the norm, they accepted my ever-changing health insurance providers (which changed as my jobs changed). Dr. Overton is great. Staff were not once rude in 20 years. I am perhaps not as demanding a patient as others. My wife does not like this practice, she had an issue w/ an ear infection that should have been handled better. But I always defend them.

I work long days and getting to the doctor can be really difficult. I have been seeing these doctors for I dont even know how long at this point and have seen just about all of them and they are all phenomenal. Unlike other practices I dont feel like I am cattle being herded in and out of there. They give that personal touch and take the time to talk to you and make sure you understand everything! I moved out to Herndon & I still go to see them even though its an extra 15 minutes to get there!

At least a few minutes of wait time every time you call..irrespective of what you call for..any day of week, any time of day..doctor is rushed, barely gives you a few minutes..the staff at front desk / check-out is unfriendly almost rude.. my test results were messed up once and I had to pay again to get the same test..also been overcharged more than once (was given credit later though). Nothing egregious overall but certainly not a good experience.
