Absolute worst experience, I went to the spotsy location to have a pregnancy confirmation done, I had an appointment at 9:15am and was there a total of an hour which isnt a problem at all for me, where my problem begins is with the DR in whom I saw. She came in and never introduced herself for one, she didnt ask me anything about myself which I am actually a high risk pregnancy since I have PCOS and I had preeclampsia with my daughter. she said "youre pregnant, let me see if I can get you in for an ultrasound" I had my ultrasound done, measuring at 5 weeks along, I had ovulated late so my dates were off of what I should have been, so she sent me for blood work to make sure I didnt need any hormone supplements to sustain my pregnancy and to check my beta levels to make sure the baby was growing at the right rate. She then said I should have results in 24 hours, well its been 2 weeks and still I have no information. Getting in touch with them is nearly impossible, I sat on hold for 2 hours where my phone call then got dropped. Ive left several messages and no one seems to know anything about my blood work I had done. This office needs to stop taking in new patients or hire more staff to keep up with all of the traffic.

I am hesitant to write my review as I am concerned I will never be able to get an appoitnment now with new patients, lol. But here it goes. Dr. Mercado is wonderful, as are majority of the Doctors in her practice. It is clear that she has worked hard to provide an environment in the Fredericksburg area for "generations of women" to receive quality care. Mercados bedside manner is one of the best I have experienced. She takes time to answer any questions and doesnt rush you through your appointment. She is knowledgeable and trustworthy, often offering examples, where applicable, of her own personal experiences. I have been coming to see Mercado for 3+ years now after leaving another area practice. While it is sometimes difficult to get a call back from a nurse on minor issues, we have always eventually connected, and I have always received a call back relativly quickly on anything that could be potentially major. I have spoken with Mercado herself after hours. I am confident in my care at Generations of Women and with Dr. Mercado. Having been elsewhere in the area, I can tell you from experience, Mercado offers the care you want from an OBGYN.

Even though sometimes the wait can be long to see Dr. Mercado, it is worth it. As patients we tend to forget that physicians are dealing with people, not with things. As an OB-GYN, sometimes Dr Mercado has to deliver bad news to her patients and that takes time. Physicians who care about their patients cannot just go in and out of a room; therefore the wait in most cases is justified. Dr Mercado is an outstanding doctor and has excellent bedside manner. To me it is indispensable that my health care provider listens to my concerns, regardless of how simple they may seem to be. Dr Mercado fulfills my needs. She will treat you as if you were her most important patient. She is great!

THEY NEVER ANSWER THE PHONE! I have called over 20 times to reschedule my appointment that THEY canceled & I was left on hold for 10 minutes each of those times! Ridiculous & Unacceptable.
