Im blown away by what a negative experience I had here because so many people have written such great reviews. We recently moved to the area and had not established care with a new vet yet. My diabetic dog was not feeling well so I called around and brought her here because they were used to working with in-tact females. I do not know what doctor saw us because she never introduced herself. I tried to explain what was going on as best I could with a three month old baby strapped to my chest but i know I was a little scattered brained from lack of sleep because our dog had been throwing up all night. Regardless, she took our case, seemed frustrated that I had consulted "Dr. Google" (which wasnt the case at all...I know fancy terminology because Im a doctor too) and did blood work and x-rays. The blood work came back showing ketones in the urine (life threatening). The doctor told me not to worry about them, they were sure my dog felt poorly because she was constipated. They sold me "nutrient dense" wet food, and gave the dog a enema and sent us home. The next morning the dog had declined further, I called to consult the vet and asked if we should go to an emergency facility. She basically said "sure" like she still didnt think this was a serious case. It took two weeks of care at Artemis Emergency Vet to get my fur baby out of diabetic ketoacidosis and on the mend. We should have been sent to the emergency facility immediately. If I hadnt called the next morning and followed my gut my doggie would have died.

I had been taking my dog to Companion Animal Clinic since he was a pup. He had always been seen by Dr. Dove was gentle and knowledgeable. I took my dog in because he was keeping weight of one of his hind legs and Dr. Frich took a look at him and couldn’t pin point why he was doing this. She gave some pain pills to help with the “swelling” and sent him home. Fast forward a few weeks and my dog developed what looked like an eye infection. I took him back in and all the sudden she tells us "it might be cancer" ... She said she felt that his lymph nodes were swollen and she extracted fluid and sent it off.. sure enough he has lymphoma. Now, my problem is was this problem not seen those couple weeks earlier? Well the day after she made the call to tell us I took him in, his eyes were no better and he had an ulcer. She gave us a third ointment of course that did not work and he got worse. She gave me vague answers and I felt so hopeless. She could have caught this a month earlier and saved my dog all the suffering he is going through now. IF YOU GO HERE SEE DR. DOVE!!!!!

Took my chronically ill 16-year-old cat there when I knew she was about to die. She has upper respiratory since she was a kitten and in her final days she couldnt breath easily or eat. I was barely holding it together and the vet said "it depend how much you love her and willing to fight" - terrible thing to say to a heart broken pet owner. That sweet kitty was expected to die as a kitten but my love kept her alive for 16 years! Over the years, I had taken her to at least 5 Vets in the area for any help with her upper respiratory. Always had hope and tried but this time I knew. I will never take another animal this one again!!!

My girl, Elizabeth, wouldnt stand for her breeding and the boy was too tired [a long month / 6 breedings]. An artificial insemination was needed....we both [the breeder and her boy and myself, with Elizabeth] rushed to Dr Doves office late on a Friday and got there at 4:30 pm....but he had to take 2 emergency "C" sections, one after another and we didnt get in to see him until almost 8 pm. When Dr Dove came into the exam room, he looked like he had just shot a hole-in-one on the 5th and now, was walking out on the 6th tee....cool, calm and collected. After a long week {im sure] and a long Friday, we left about 10 pm, mission accomplished.

They care more about your pets than the money they might make. Dr. Dove has always given it to me straight. Over the years, he has cared for my ferret, iguana, diabetic cat (diagnosed at 6 years old, lived to be 16), and dogs. I trust him and his staff 100%. Recently was given an estimate to pull a tooth by another vet to the tune of $1,600. Companion Animal Clinic did the extraction, plus cleaning for under $300 and my dog was bouncing up and down after the procedure ("Get me out of here!"). :-)

How many vets still do 24/7 on call? Dr Elizabeth Lloyd called me back in the middle of the night, and met me at the clinic - did surgery on my girl and saved her life and her puppies. Oh and the bill didnt require a second mortgage like the ER hospitals do! Very nice and knowledgable, the doc did a great job - and the staff was friendly and helped me with all parts of the procedure and follow up care and loading etc.....even though IT WAS THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT! Thank you Dr. Lloyd !!!

I was recommended to Dr. Dove by friend and experience dog owner/lover. Our visit was great, they educated me on the vaccines and procedures, were attentive and patient with my questions and concerns, answered everything in lamen terms. I have a large breed dog which has more health concerns and requires a vet that knows the breed/group. Dr. Dove knows large breeds and is excellent in educating and working with patients/owners. I recommend Dr. Dove and his staff to all dog owners I know.

Worst place ever! I tried getting my cat her meds before we have to give her up for adoption for her asthma. They refuse to give us the medication so we can transfer her to her next owner! I told them I dont have the funds to get the shots and blood work they want done but they refuse to accommodate us for a month before she goes to humane society. They keep making excuses! Our cat will now start having asthma attacks since she cant get her medicine.

This is the best vet in the area I know because I have been to many vets trying to find one that would listen to the dog owner....it means a lot when you know your dog is "off". I also breed dogs and it is great to have a vets that also breeds dogs and understand that, sometimes, they will have to come in after hours with breeding problems. Dr. Dove, Dr. Lloyd and the staff are all knowledgeable and very helpful.

We were so lucky to find this veterinary clinic. The entire staff is wonderful. Drs. Dove and Lloyd are hands on, they get on the floor and touch the dog and really try to know them. The entire staff show a great deal of caring for their patients. We sadly had to put our dog down recently and they could not have been more kind or gentle. I am forever in their debt for how caring they were.
