The only time I will ever use this vet again is if I need a prescription refill. I have an English bulldog who has been hospitalized on a ventilator, and she also had a bronchoscopy done this past fall with South Paws, all before she was a year old. They had highly recommended NOT to put her under anesthesia until was perfectly healthy. I brought my dog to Caring hands because she was having some sort of skin issue, and she had also been coughing lately (which is what she had been doing last year before she was hospitalized). So I had told the assistants that I like a chest x-ray to make sure that there is no fluid, and the assistant smirked at me. I had asked him if he read my dogs chart and knew her history, and he said "No, I havent read her chart." I work in a medical facility, and the first thing you do BEFORE seeing your patient, is read their chart! Then he says "Has she not been spayed yet?" I said no, and he AGAIN smirked at me and slightly shook his head. Since he had not read her history, I explained to him why we had not gotten her spayed at this point in time. The doctor was nice, but my only criticism was that she did not know the medication that she gave me. I had to ask her how often I should use it, and how long I should use it. She had to read the directions on the bottles to give me this information. After asking for ONE x-ray, they had taken 2 and I was charged for both. For the medications, x-rays and exam, it was $400!! Not expecting the charge to be so high, I asked the front desk to charge it on my CareCredit card. She told me yes, but I would have to have the card on me. I know for a fact that ALL providers that accept CareCredit have login that allows them to pull account numbers and to see available credit for those account numbers. So I asked her if she could look it up for me since I did not have my card, and she says, "No, you have to have it." So I ask her if she is able to look it up online, and she still says no. I just spent $400 at their office, and the least they could do was take 2 minutes to pull my card information. I will never take my dog there again, and will make sure I let all of my neighbors to stay away. I used to take her to Stonewall Vet Clinic in Gainesville, and they were AWESOME! Even though I live in Ashburn, and will more than likely go back to Stonewall because the entire staff is efficient, knowledgeable, and so very kind!!

Im new to the Ashburn area and when my dog became ill Caring Hands fit me in early in their schedule. I really had no idea what was wrong with her but she wouldnt drink or eat, and was in some obvious discomfort. Everyone I dealt with at Caring Hands was very caring and loving towards my dog. Dr. Reiss gave her a thorough exam and when he couldnt determine exactly what was wrong with her he described for me what my different options were. This is the part where the service I got at Caring Hands stood out to me. I was presented with my treatment options, some of which obviously required more tests and services than others but I never felt pressured to have anything done. I opted for x-rays and when they showed no blockages Dr. Reiss again laid out the options (blood work, pain medicine, fluids/pain medicine injections), explaining each option and allowing me to choose without pressuring me to select those that would cost more. The trip to Caring Hands was exactly what I look for in a vet - a thorough exam by a caring veterinarian, a clear explanation of what my treatment options are, and no pressure. When your pet isnt feeling well the last thing you need is to be wondering if all the tests the vet is recommending are really necessary or if they just bought a new boat and need to make the payment. I have been to vets before where you have that feeling that they are taking you for a ride and I am glad to say that Caring Hands doesn’t fall into that group. Caring Hands will definitely be my new regular vet!

The most wonderful veterinary practice youll ever need. I never knew a clinic that showed such tremendous care and compassion for both a pet and a pet parent. Ive had the misfortune to lose a 19 year old cat, my first pet loss, due to old age and an injury that would not heal due to cancer. Dr. B and the staff couldnt have been more sympathetic and supportive as my husband and I made the tough decision. And as we collected her ashes a few weeks later, we were presented with a paw print in clay, with her name on it, that we will keep forever. A couple years later Caring Hands led us through the diagnosis and eventual loss of another cat due to cancer. This was a long and drawn out fight and Dr. B and staff could not have been more supportive and helpful. We had all the information and backing we needed to make clear and informed decisions all along the way. And when we decided it was time - they were there again, helping us through the last chapter. And we have that paw print too. My other (some new) cats are all happy clients and theyre all bouncing around in good health due to Caring Hands and their incredible practice. Weve been through typical pet emergencies and health maintenance issues over the years and Ive never felt that I was receiving anything less than their full attention and A+ care. And my happy cats are all the proof I need. Im sure anyone out there should expect no less.

We recently relocated to the area and needed to get our dog vaccinated, we decided on Caring Hands as they were the closest to our residence. We will not be going back to this establishment ever! Our dog was CHOCKED , she URINATED HERSELF, and when we asked this man who was mis handeling her to let her go, he continued with the chocking until my husband firmly told him that he will push him off our dog if he does not move away. This man then started to tell us that no one can tell him how to work with animals as it is his profession (he was not even a vet), and he will be leaving the room. When my husband opened the door for him to leave, he blocked it and then threatened my husband that he will phone the police because my husband was physically touching him , deciding now that mis handling animals is not enough but provoking their owners is now the best cause of action. (my husbands arm was touching his arm, my husband had the dog on her leash in one hand and the door in the other) We as so many other pet lovers adopted our dog, we take her for training we spend time with her and now we will have to once again have to go through rehabilitation because of this mans arrogance and incompetence.

We took my dog, Ginger here for I think as long as we have lived here, which is around 7 or so years I think. Anyways, they always treated Ginger so nicely, and even though she was scared, they were very gentle and would talk to her as they did her checkups. In April, we had Ginger put down here as well, and I know it is a grim topic, but Ginger was 15, and suffering. Im glad that we had her put down here, as they were very good to her in her final moments, making her as comfortable as possible, even getting her to perk up, when she was trembling in fear just a moment before. They gave her some yummy food, which got her tail wagging, and they gave us quite a bit of time, and tissues to say our goodbyes. A few minutes before she was given the injection that would euthanize her, she was given an injection that relaxed her. I havent seen her look that peaceful in a long while, and when she was given the final injection, she just kind of..went to sleep, permanently. Thats pretty much what it was like, it was painless, quick, and peaceful. I certainly recommend this place for vet care, as the staff do a good job, and are kind to both you and your animals. RIP Ginger.
