As a patient of this practice for the past 25 years I am absolutely appalled by Kathy Farmers (the owners wife) treatment of her husbands patients. I had an appointment for a follow up exam on a corneal abrasion and secondary infection as a result. I unfortunately did not have a current insurance card and it was beyond her or the office staff to take an extra 45 seconds out of their oh-so-busy day to extend a little extra effort and verify my insurance as current and valid. If i may quote verbatim what she said to me instead, "We cant do anything for you unless you have insurance or fat pockets!" I urge ANYBODY who is looking for a friendly and personable eye care experience to not even waste their time or money on this establishment. Please beleive i will be contacting the Better Business Beaurau!!! Probably even 10onyourside as well.

I called to see if my glasses were in and Cathy answered (office manager). I have never been treated so rudely, she acted like I was disturbing her for calling. When I went in to get my glasses, I asked why she was so rude, she would not acknowledge that I was even speaking to her. I asked if it was okay to speak to patients like that, again ignored the fact that I had spoken. Absolutely rude, the just lost multiple patients, worst experience ever. Dont go there!

Their Office Manager Kathy is rude and unwilling to explain cost. Also was charged wrong with my insurance. Kathy was unwilling to try to resolve it and was making rude comments about the patient’s character. Also was looking for new frames and tried a pair on while waiting for her. Her first interdiction was we are doing inventory, can you put those down and have a seat? There was no one in the frame area. Will never to business with them again.

lady that answered the phone was completely rude. I was calling from another doctors office and she spoke hateful and wouldnt let me finish a sentence. If we spoke like that to patients in this practice we wouldnt have a job here very long. You should put customers first they are the reason you have a job!

These people are very professional and friendly! Just left from an eye exam so I could get a prescription to order contacts online. Dr. Steven was my doctor, hes a really awesome guy!

I have never been treated as unprofessionally as I was at Kempsville Eye Center. They are awful and I would strongly discourage anyone from going there!
