I had an eye problem that needed quick attention, I called and was given an eye appt. for the next day. The experience was outstanding! The intake receptionist remembered me because she had made my appointment. She was delightful. I was seen by a competent and personable technician. I was then seen by Dr. Berkenstock. She did a thorough exam and needed to order additional testing. She personally took me to the receptionist and made sure I had the first available appointment. After my return test, I was sitting in the reception area, waiting for my husband, when the phone rang. It was Dr. Berkenstock calling because she needed to discuss the findings (it had only been 10 minutes). I told her that I was still in the office and she came out immediately, took me back to her office. She discussed the findings suggesting that I have an MRI soon. I said I wasnt certain how soon I could get one so she picked up her phone and got an appointment for me for the next evening. I had the MRI done and at 8:30 the following morning she phoned to give me the results. Oh, I forgot that the day before the MRI I told the receptionist that I wasnt sure how to get to the MRI facility and before I knew it she had printed out a Google map with directions from my house to the facility. Every person that I saw coming and going from the office was treated with the same level of care and concern. As an aside, my husband had delicate eye surgery at the same office last year and he received the same excellent treatment. I would, without hesitation, recommend this practice to anyone in need of outstanding eye care.

Having had prior experience with Wilmer (and the reason I switched to Parris Castoro) I knew what to expect. The wait times to both get an appointment and to sit in the waiting room are horrid. Ive seen people get up and leave many times after sitting for two hours past their appointment time. That goes over so well when they demand you get there early. The optical shop has always been the most expensive in town. Their frame selection and lens quality remains mediocre and if lenses need to be redone, youre in for a battle. Johns Hopkins is the best teaching and research organization on the planet. They have always been horrible at patient services. You cant have a doctor seeing patients and giving lectures and writing papers at the same time. If you have a sight threatening problem, there is no better place to go. If its just normal eye care and examinations, theres no worse place. Finally, after being the most expensive eye care facility in the state, they will continually hound you for donations so they may continue their research and training efforts.

I made an appointment with a "pediatric" opthamologist at Wilmer. When I called I specifically asked for a "pediatric" doctor, explained the situation and told them that her pediatrician told me to get her to a "pediatric" opthamologist. The appointment time was 1:15. At 1:45, she was seen by a technician. We finally get in to see the doctor - she was examined and then she dilated her eyes. We were told to wait in another waiting room while her eyes dilated? Really? After the doctor saw 2 more patients, my granddaughter was examined again. Everything looked great (thats the good news). However, the doctor told me that if my granddaughter had any further problems, I might want her to be seen by a "pediatric" opthamologist! What? So, 2 hours later, I find out the doctor wasnt a pediatric doctor!!! She said the pediatric opthamologists arent available til March or April. NONE of this was explained or mentioned to me when I made the appointment. Not happy at all!

The place is run like a storage ware house. I sat 3 1/2 hours waiting to see the doctor. My Italian came out and left. Never saw such poor service. In the waiting room there are about twenty doctors pictures shown on the wall. I saw two in the back taking care of about twenty people. Had it with these people. Since Dr. Castoro turned the practice over to Hopkins, it has gone totally down hill. Never did think much of the Hopkins patience care. Moving on to someone that is interested in my care, not the number on my account.

The receptionist I had to sign in was very rude and had very sly remarks to myself and other patients there. Not a "hello" or a "good morning" when I went to sign in at the desk. It was my first time there so I had no idea what I was supposed to do and she just automatically assumed I should know what to do. Thankfully the doctor made up for her rude comments. I love the doctors there!

I had to wait for 50 minutes to see Dr. Seifert on Monday , June 6th at 3:45. While his exam was fine, I was insulted that I could not try on new frames unassisted because each pair was separately locked up! I do not like doing business in a place that punishes me for someone elses shoplifting. The assistant was less than friendly. Really insulting. I will not be returning.

First time visit went very smooth - was very pleased that they were able to fit me in the next day when I called for an appointment. Upon arrival, I had minimal wait time, Dr. Chapman was very personable & knowledgeable, and office staff was very friendly and helpful with all new patient paperwork, insurance, and the completion of my MVA Eye exam. Would highly recommend.

Made an appointment months ago with the same doctor I see every year (same insurance every year). Showed up to appointment and was informed the doctor no longer accepts my insurance. This was not my first negative experience with Wilmer. I found myself a new practice and will not be returning.

I had my 94 YO father in for an appointment. he was moved to and fro three times to waiting rooms and different rooms. His mobility is very limited and it wasnt senior friendly. In that vein, the bathrooms had no grab bars for the elderly, which term describes about 90% of the patients.

Courteous, knowledgeable staff. Doctor Scott one of finest doctors I have ever met. Appointments take a long time, but that is due medication used to dilate eyes and dye used during examinations.
