Its really sad that I have to write a negative review (since Dr. Gormley really is a great eye doctor), but the sales side of Katzen Eye Group was very rude to me. I got my prescription from Dr. Gormley. She was great. I was very satisfied with the service that she provided. I purchased contacts from Katzen Eye Group as well. The problems started when I purchased my glasses from another company. After receiving my prescription and purchasing contacts from Katzen, I went online to another company to purchase glasses. When the prescription was incorrect, I took them to Katzen Eye Group (where I got my prescription) to see if something was wrong with the glasses. (Thats what both the glasses company and Katzen Eye Group told me to do over the phone.) I was told to go to the glasses sales area, so I did. There was a younger salesperson and an older one, both female. I was assisted by the older one. I showed her my glasses, which I had purchased from another company, and she smirked as if to imply that I was stupid for buying my glasses online. (Maybe I was, but I certainly didnt appreciate being reminded of that by her.) Anyway, I told her that I was instructed to bring my glasses in to see what was wrong with them. She didnt seem to want to help. She took my glasses and went in a back room. Five minutes later, she came out and handed me a sheet with a bunch of numbers on it, without explanation. She did not try to help me any further. I asked her if she knew what was wrong with the glasses, and she said, "Well, if you got your glasses here, then I could help you." She said a whole bunch of other things that gave me the impression that she was upset that I had purchased my glasses elsewhere. The younger girl next to her was staring at me with her mouth wide open, as if to suggest that she was upset with me as well. Anyway, the bottom line is that if there was something wrong with my glasses measurements, one would think that my optometrists office would be able to help me with that. If anything, the couldve used that as an opportunity to show me why its important to buy glasses from a local company, but instead, they just made me feel stupid. In my opinion, by reacting so childishly to the fact that I purchased my glasses online (rather than trying to help me figure out what the problem was), they just made things worse. After this experience, I wouldnt feel comfortable showing my face in that establishment because of how they made me feel. I gave the lady numerous opportunities to apologize, but I was the one that did most of the apologizing. I left feeling despicable, which is unfortunate because I really liked the doctor I dealt with. I just wont ever be able to return to that place because of my bad experience with her sales staff. The worst part about all of this is that I agree with them that its better to buy glasses from a local company. I just wish that they had been more compassionate about all of this rather than trying to rub the mistake in my face.

My wife and I have been dealing with Katzen for several years and have never had a problem until recently. The Doctors, techs and eye wear fittings have been outstanding. Our problem is the front desk. You try calling and no one answers. Weve left messages and our phone number for return call. This was on a Friday the 25th of March. Two weeks prior to this we came in and had new glasses and a complete eye examine. But I needed a duplicate pair to use for my computer and paid for these. On Monday we again called to see if the glasses came in. This time we left our cell phone number to call us back and no return calls. So we decided to drive over and found one front desk young lady half asleep! We met with an older lady and ask why no one called us. All she did was ask our name and said the glasses are in and to sign in.NO personality at all. The front desk use to welcome people and seemed very caring! What happened? We always tell our neighbors how friendly and caring they were. But not the front desk. We spoke to several other patients in the waiting room and felt the same. Like I said the doctors, techs and eye wear people are very helpful. We even sent my wife mother to have her eyes checked here and they referred her to the main Katzen to have surgery. All went well and very pleased. But please do something with front desk! Up to this past year it was fantastic and felt welcome! John and Sandy. A very special thanks to Mr. Vincent J. for helping us!!

I love this place. I have been going here for about 4 years, and the staff and my doctor is very knowledgeable, very friendly, takes their time with you, and explains all of your options, and I feel comfortable enough to ask them anything. I now have contacts from them, and their optometry department as well as their front desk, they are fab. Dan is such a doll, and ive literally never seen him in a bad mood, he always looks happy. Theyre always looking to make sure something is resolved, as well as making sure you get what you need at that exact moment. I do get sometimes it is a bit slow, but I think its because their business has grown a lot, and theyre trying to accommodate and make sure people come out taken care of. I like how when someone in the staff needs help or has a question, they all work together, and they figure it out then and there. Even though there is another eye place close to me, I drive almost 40 minutes to see them because its so worth it in my opinion. Maybe they know me well enough by now or I just get lucky every time, I dont know haha I just know I love it here. Thanks Katzen! <3

A month ago today I got stabbed in the eye with a wire. It made it 50% through my cornea and left residue behind. I went from 20/20 to 20/95. I went to 4 doctors before I made it to a cornea specialist at Katzen Eye Group. Apparently it was pretty bad because I was the talk of the town. Its not a fun place to be popular at but my doctor was amazing. She had to put me to sleep cut my eye open scrape the stuff out and sew it back shut. I wasnt allowed to do basically anything this entire month while putting all different kinds of drops in my eyes that she told me to, it sucked but I listened. Today she took the Stitch out and Im back to 20/20! 2 weeks from now I can do whatever I want again. Im so thankful for my doctor she was so nice and pretty damn good with her hands too

Horrible experience overall except for the front desk. I went in there because I needed new lenses after 1 year. I was also having blurred vision. They did a complete exam, but then the eye doctor came in she was TERRIBLE. Extremely rude. Didnt respond to any of my questions with more than a grunt. Didnt address my blurred eye sight either! She told me my vision had barely changed. When I went to get my lenses from the sales side, they told me I had to leave my frames for TWO WEEKS. HELLO? How am I going to see? They cant take measurements and order them that way? Thats what my old place used to do. I cant wait to switch insurance again so I dont have to go back to this horrible place again. I just stuck with my old prescription!
