Nice until you want to transfer to another Dentist! Office manager needs to work on customer service. I asked for the office to transfer my records to another Dentist and they said, "Come in and you can sign a release form," so I did. While I was there the lady at the desk said that I had a balance of $102. I told her that I had previously spoken to someone in the office and they told me that my insurance was just running a little slow and that I should just disregard the bill- so I did (Also, when I got the bill, it did not state what the charges were for, bill says "Balance Forward." I had already paid everything upfront before I had my procedures).The lady at desk said that it looks like that I still owe $20 and that I could just wait on the new bill. I signed the papers and the lady said she would send the records right over. She never sent them so I called them again and they said we will send them right over and they never did. I called them 3 different times, asking for the records. Each time they said they would send them and they did not. Finally, the last time I called, they said I had a $20 balance and they would not send them until I paid the $20. I told them it was in the mail. They still wouldnt send my records. I talked to the manager and finally after talking to him for a while, asking him to please email the records, he said he would send them that day and He Did not! And today I go to the mail and I received a bill for $102 post marked and hand written the DAY I spoke to the manager (how spiteful is that?!- not sending the records but instead sending a bill for $102). I asked the other Dentist if they could talk to them and she called Sandbridge Dental and they told her that the $20 was charged as a "records transfer fee" (which is a lie, because this whole time they had been saying it was a balance and the reason they called it a "transfer fee" was because they know it is illegal to hold someones records because of a balance.) I dont know if they will ever transfer my records, and I wouldnt be surprised if they continue to send me mysterious $100 bills with no indication for what the charges are for. They seem spiteful over me transferring, because I would hate to think this is all for $20. I am writing this so you dont have to go through this. So Beware! ***Update, So 5 min after I wrote this review, the manager called me and apologize for the trouble. Also, he agreed to send my records and waive the $80. He said he would change the policy in the office. So hopefully that will happen and I have updated my review to 3 stars instead of 1.

Would not recommend! Went for cleaning and fillings. I kept refusing service because they couldnt tell me how much it would cost after insurance (Strike 1). Return for my 1/2 fillings, I pay my portion. Return for my other half, pay my portion. They jack up my mouth so I cant eat and they offer to adjust them. Upon checking out, the receptionist tells me that Delta Dental did not cover my full procedure and I owe them an extra $225+. Very upset, I call Delta and they say....no they are trying to scam you. You were supposed to only pay $165(ish). The DD Care Team calls Sandbridge Dental and then calls me and tells me to expect a call on Monday. 3 Weeks, no call. I call and I am told that Delta Dental doesnt cover white fillings, only silver...but they dont offer silver. Now Im like....WHAT?????? and that Delta Dental hasnt paid them yet, but she will take my number down and have the Billing Specialist call me. .... NO CALL. So I call again a few weeks later because this is ridiculous. They claim they will call me back. An hour later, they call me back and say that "after auditing my account, I actually OVERPAID $11" I ask them for my $11 back and they claim it has to be sent to them by mail. Its been four weeks....no check...no call. The moment I get an answer, I am cancelling all my future appointments. BEWARE!

Terrible service and total disregard for the value of patients time. Went to get a filling, Dr. Bench determined I would need a crown - and they couldnt get the job done right. So his assistant - who was very sweet, came in and took an impression of my tooth. It took her several tries as they jammed the tray of goo into my jaw I almost choked on it. The temporary crown itself took over two hours. Being early November, for some reason they couldnt get my permanent crown until after Thanksgiving. The temporary one popped out several times and I had to come in twice between visits. It hurt and was sensitive during Thanksgiving dinner. Finally came in December to get the permanent crown on - and guess what? It didnt fit! To boot, Dr. Bench was very disrespectful when I took issue with this - said I was acting entitled - YES Sir! I am entitled to good service for the money I paid!

Hands down THE best dentist office in Virginia Beach. Im a new patient and had the worst experiences with every other dentisit and my first visit I was supposed to get a cleaning but had issues with tooth pain and they immediately took me in to do a root canal the same day! Everyone there is so kind and caring! They even gave me a furry blanket to use while I was getting my procedure done. And they were very aware if I felt any pain during the roof canal and listened to me very well. Highly recommend them! Even told my parents about them and they are scheduling to see them soon. And Im going to take my children there as well for their first dental cleaning.

This place WILL SCAM YOU. I went to get an emergency root canal work no insurance ($1400) and set up a payment plan with them insisting that I pay a large portion up front. I did and they began the procedure however, half way through they said they couldnt complete the root canal because of excessive bleeding. they remove the nerve and schedule me to come in again to finish the procedure. When I came in again they told me that they refused to finish the procedure until I payed the rest I owed. Now I have an infected abcess in my mouth, am in tons of pain and they tell me all they can do is give me motrin til I pay them.

Dr Benson and staff outstanding! Best example of Customer Service! Dr Kimberly Benson so caring,gentle,compassionate and has amazing dental skills ! She explains her procedures she genuinely cares about her patients. After not going to a dentist for over 10 years because of bad experiences I have finally found a good dentist for my whole family can enjoy! And her staff matches her customer service they are wonderful I am lucky to have found Dr Benson! I Love Sandbridge family dental care !

This is a great practice with an awesome staff. They knew I was nervous and did everything to make me comfortable and relaxed. They even brought me a heated blanket to help me relax. Excellent service all around by all the staff and Dr Kimberly Benson is an absolute angel with the gentlest touch and the best bedside manner. She was so kind and accommodating. Ive never had such a pleasant dental experience. I highly recommend this practice.
