If I could give zero stars, or negative stars I would. We brought our new puppy here, as a new client, after showing up on time, they informed me I was 30 minutes late, which I was not, nor did they call the day before to confirm the appointment. We then sat and waited before being told we could not be seen as the Dr had to be in court.... The receptionist, who was very rude to begin with, then proceeded to say we could not be seen because we were late, which we were not, and then cut me off and in a very rude, and sparky tone told me to be quiet and let her talk. I confirmed the appointment when I made it 3 times, and then shortly after we arrived, another family arrived, and was told they were also late. Seems to be they have a scheduling issue. I also have worked in this industry for many years, and never have I spoken to a client in such a disrespectful tone, or demeanor. I guess the clinic must be doing very well financially to be able to provide such atrocious service to new clients since they obviously dont need the business. Would never recommend this place. The only person who was at all respectful and friendly was the woman who does the grooming.

Love this place. I moved here from Arlington, where my previous vet had wrongly advised that my dogs draining ear was normal for its breed (a Wheaten Terrier). That lasted for one year, until coming to Berryville Ave. Dr. Phouts said it was actually not normal for that long, sedated him, flushed his ear....and it was problem solved! He had actually had a ruptured ear drum (probably since a puppy) and probable hearing loss. This week...my dog was on deaths door...unable to stand, barely walk..... The Valley Health emergency clinic charged $542 the first day (Dr. Phouts was closed already) for the same thing Dr. Phouts did the next day for only $65. (lab work/blood test...bc of probable tick affects on blood counts & clotting) I highly recommend her and her staff. I dont have that feeling that she is out to make a buck from my dogs care. I certainly dont have it in my budget if I thought so!

Dr Pfoust and her staff have always given excellent care and consideration to my pets. Ive been seeing them for many, many years and trust them completely. While working with rescue animals Ive brought several tough cases to them and Dr Pfoust has always come through in pinpointing what was wrong and recommending the best treatment. If theyve needed to see specialists she has always given excellent referrals and recommendations. Shes always honest and upfront with me about everything from the simplest of my pets health problems to the most serious emergencies (and Ive brought her several) and she answers any questions I have so I never feel like I dont understand what is going on. The entire staff have always treated my pets as if they were their own.

We love this vet. Dr. Pfouts is knowledgeable and honest and she treats our pets good and us people too. She explains everything to us and has helped our dogs and cat through various illnesses and catastrophes. We moved to Maryland but we still travel to Winchester to go to see Dr. Pfouts.

Very unfortunate- we had to leave this vets care because of their continued support of a convicted animal abuser.
