A little odd... I was looking for a good place to take my dog for a check up when I saw the "great reviews" for this place. And as I started to read these so-called customer reviews, I noticed its a little fishy that about 30 of the 33 reviews posted are EXACTLY 3 or 4 months ago, even though theyve been open for like, what, 25 years? Not only that, but every SINGLE post opens with the same thing: "Ive been going to *Companion Animal Hospital* for 5 years now" or "I have been taking my dog to *Companion Animal Hospital* for many years". Its always some form of this, and of course they almost always list the doctors name(s). And for the real give away - I checked these "long-time customers" supposed Google+ "profiles", and sure enough, the only review any of these people have EVER wrote was for Companion animal hospital... Not to mention their profiles are completely blank with no information what-so-ever, and to top it off, they all have names like "Lindsay Johnson", "Bob Smith" or "Angie Smith"... Not quite those exact names of course, but you get idea. FAKE FAKE FAKE! And if youre wondering why I took my time to even write a review like this, its simply because I have been scammed, lied to, deceived, whatever you want to call it, by companies such as this one. They will post review after review to get their ratings up because the typical person will look at just the # of stars they have and base their decision solely on that. Thats what I USED to do. Until I was sold a car and had that same cars transmission go out the very next day. Its situations like that which made me take a closer look (not without having to flip through 10 pages of fake reviews) to find the real posts which are of course filled with horrible stories of being lied to and cheated out of your money. So hopefully if anyone actually does take the time to read this, you dont have to learn the hard way which companies could give two sh*** about you.

I went in after a tough experience with another vet (Nortons Ark) after my breeder recommended them saying they specialized in my dogs breed (English Bulldog). Long story short, Nortons Ark had messed up on a surgery and was not returning my calls to answer any of my concerns. After a week of playing phone tag and still not getting a response, a friend recommended Dr. Ritchie at Companion. He definitely was a complete turnaround. He took the time to listen to my concerns and was very honest and direct with me regarding my dogs condition. Since Winstons first visit, Ive had both Dr. Ritchie and his assistants reach out to me on 4 different occassions to check up on Winstons status and that alone gave me a sense of relief. This showed that they truly were concerned for Winstons well being and wanted to be assessible during this entire process. When I had a separate concern and left a mesage for Dr. Ritchie , he got back to me that same day. This also was the complete opposite from my other vet since I was never able to reach her when I needed to speak to her. These are just two of the many things that really stood out to me about Companion. The overall atmosphere at Companion was great and the staff seemed to really love thier jobs which made me feel better about leaving my puppy there. People who really enjoy what they do usually are great at their jobs :) Though I live downtown and its not the easiest commute to get to Companion, I feel the quality of care they provide makes the whole trip worth it. Id definitely recommend them to anyone looking for someone they can trust with their furry loved ones.

Weve been bringing our two dogs and cat to Companion Animal Hospital for a few years now, and Dr Chan, Dr French, and Dr Ritchie are all wonderful! They offer a puppy plan at a flat rate that covers vaccines and appointments for the first year of your puppys life, which really paid for itself with my golden retriever who was a very sick puppy when I brought him home from the breeder a few years ago. It gives you peace of mind that you can bring your pup in without hesitation of having to pay for an appointment if you have any concerns or want something checked out. This year our 2 year old newfie tore her ACL and had to have knee surgery at Companion. All of the staff was very caring, and worked with us to schedule the surgery around my wedding which was later that month. On the day of her surgery we got many courtesy calls with updates about our newfie, and the specialty surgeon that came in to do her surgery even called right before to let us know he was starting the operation soon and how long i would take, and called us afterward too. She had to stay a couple nights at the vet while she recovered and Companion took very good care of her, she is very large and can be really fussy but all the staff seemed to be patient with her and did a great job. We moved away from the east side over a year ago (in North Seattle now) but kept Companion Animal Hospital as our vet even though there are many vets a lot closer to us, because we trust them 100% with our pets, they have fair prices, and Dr Chan, Dr Ritchie, and Dr French truly care about our pets well being! I absolutely recommend Companion Animal Hospital!

I cannot say enough about Dr. Ritchie, and Companion Animal Hospital. He has a gift with animals, and the entire clinic provides 5 star service. My family had a crazy mini dachshund, who had in the past been a vet-biter. One visit with Dr. Ritchie, and our holy terror was completely docile. When my husband and I were young and newly married, we were adopted by a stray cat, who ended up having a brain tumor. Knowing finances were tough, Dr. Ritchie made us feel good for taking the cat in, and provided a lot of free or discounted vet services. Over the years, weve had siamese cats with renal failure, a rare fungal infection and various dental needs. We still have the flowering plant they sent us when our last cat passed away. So very above and beyond the call of duty, and meaningful to us. Even when we lived in Seattle, there was no question wed drive across the bridge to see Dr. Ritchie. The compassion the whole clinic has shown to our animals, and to us, during happy and sad times has been truly appreciated- and inspired our complete loyalty and referrals. Now, weve finally been able to bring a GSD puppy into our lives, and to have a vet we trust this much has made such a difference. She LOVES going to the vet, and the whole staff, but especially Dr. Ritchie, has shared our excitement, and treat her so well. Their puppy plan is very generous. There are not enough stars to provide Dr. Ritchie, and his clinic. Its always special when you meet someone who so clearly is meant to do what they do.

I have been a long time customer at Companion Animal Hospital and cannot disagree more with the negative comments listed here. Our experiences have always been superb. We would only trust our much loved animals with professionals who are excellent clinically, show care and compassion, and are reasonably priced. Companion Animal Hospital does all of that and more. We have taken our lab and two cats to the clinic for at least 10 years (our lab pass away from old age recently at 15 years) and we have found all experiences to be nothing short of superb. I was shocked yesterday when I went to Google to find their telephone number so I could make an appointment for a visit for one of our cats who has chronic kidney problems - only to find horribly negative reviews. No way they even close to our experiences. We have recommended this clinic to our friends and family for years and they all share our sentiments - and thank us for our recommendation. Yesterdays visit; they performed a full examination, kept the cat for the day for observation, gave him I.V. fluids, he received a prednisone injection (for another issue), fed him, called me with an update 3 times - for a total of $96.00 which i consider to be very fair. They just called me NOW to follow up on him (next day). As a note; this is the first review I have done - which should tell you how I felt about the negative comments.
