I am a home care aid and post with permission of my client and her family. There was apparently some mix up regarding insurance and referral that the office failed to notice until the day of my clients apt. My poor sweet client who sometimes struggles to get from couch to table (she is 90) loaded up to make the trip to see Dr. Kim. Upon arrival we are told they will not see her without a referral.. . they were very nice.. at first.. until I asked if the could have her regular doctor fax over a referral seeing as how it is an ordeal to make a trip like this and it would be so much better to wait in office and resolve it then reschedule. At this point the response was both curt and in a VERY NASTY TONE "That isnt our responsibility" and effectively dismissed me at that point as if we were no longer there. I 100% agree it is NOT their responsibility but the absolute unwillingness to attempt and resolve the problem, especially when it only would have taken them a phone call to get a fax, says it all. (BTW they called my clients daughter to cancel the apt. (not to try and get the referral) at 1:40 ish. Apt was at 2:00.

I took my mother to see Dr. Kim at her Kirkland office because mom was having a problem with her right foot and we were both amazed at how wonderful Dr. Kim was. Not only was the doctor smart and professional but she sincerely listened to my moms concerns, actually made eye to eye contact (which I find it very important when it comes to doctor-patient communication) with her and showed real compassion. She explained my moms problems clearly so my aging mother can easily understand and gave her treatments that were effective. We are pleased with the experience at Dr. Kim and are glad that we went to see her. We hope there will be more doctors like her.

Overall, my experience with Dr. Kim was great! She was kind and sincere and seemed experienced. The staff were very friendly and worked quickly to get me scheduled. My wait time was short and when I got in she took her time with me to examine and explain things thorougly. I was educated on my situation and it was easy to follow. Also, she gave me plenty of time to ask questions and answered them with thought and effort. I found out about her through the Top Docs List of 2015 t in the Seattle Magazine and am truly glad I went here!

While I agree that Dr. Kim is very likable she seemed to recommend ways to fix the symptom (pain) rather than ways to address the underlying issue that is causing the pain. The initial treatments were temporarily effective for the pain but I cant continue to take ibuprofen and slather on ointment. Im going back for another conversation about the actual problem so well see how that goes.
