I wish I could give them a negative 5. The dentists here are inept and more interested in getting all the money they possibly can from you even at the expense of your health and safety. My husband and I have both had separate, horrible experiences with them. He saw them once and refused to go back. The dentist at the time (Dr. Lee) took xrays and diagnosed him as needing a root canal. They dont perform that procedure there so they sent my husband to a REAL dentist who informed my husband that Dr. Lee wanted the root canal performed on a tooth that was perfectly fine. True story. My experience is equally bad. Ive been trying for over a week to schedule a routine cleaning. I called them. They sent no reminder. They didnt call me. "I" called them. They informed me that since Dr. Lee was no longer there, my new dentist (Dr. L. Brar) needed me to take new xrays. I had just had xrays within 2 years, I was having NO teeth issues.... and I have had cancer on my upper lip (from years of unnecessary routine dental xrays) so I do not want routine xrays. Thats my legal right as an adult, to make my own decisions about what is and isnt done to my body. I simply wanted a cleaning. Dr. Brar forced me to get a release from my primary care physician, which I did. This process took a week. I finally got my cleaning scheduled, yesterday, for tomorrow, Oct. 26th at 11am. In fact theyve been bugging me with confirmations, through email and voice mail, all day. Of course I was going to be there. Im the one thats been fighting for this cleaning. So just now, the evening before my appt., the dentist had her receptionist call to let me know that she, Dr. L. Brar, has changed her mind. She now refuses to clean my teeth unless I submit to an exam AND XRAYS. So basically I just wasted a week, and pestered my nice primary care physician, for nothing. Having your face xrayed every year, as they insist on doing at Aspen Dental, is not just excessive.... its dangerous. The damage to your cells is cumulative. At the MOST you should only have routine xrays every 2-3 years. 5 years if you arent having issues with your teeth. And dentists should only xray AFTER their exam and ONLY if they see cause for concern. It is every persons right to refuse xrays at any time. No one should try to force you.... just so they can make a buck. Shame in you, Dr. L. Brar. I wouldnt let you anywhere near my teeth.

My last visit was not a pleasant experience. I was scheduled for my 6-month exam for 9am. I was on time, but found myself waiting until 9:28 to be escorted back to the x-ray room. Im usually easy-going when it comes to waiting a few minutes, but all during that time I was not alerted to whether or not it would be just a few minute wait or longer. The dental assistant who took my x-rays was pleasant enough, and did sympathize with me about the wait. She then took me over to the exam room, where again I waited for the dentist. Usually I see Dr. Lee, but the dentist and her assistant came in the room after a while. Im going to assume she was the dentist because she did not introduce herself or her assistant, but after a brief glance over my x-rays, she started to look at my teeth. After a rather quick inspection, she announced that 2 of my back teeth needed crowns due to deep fractures, and I should schedule that soon. When I asked if this was something I could put off or if it needed to be attended to right away, she urged me to have it done soon before it could turn into something worse. I was feeling the hard-sell right there, because in the last few visits this year for other work, nothing had been mentioned about these fractures or the impending urgency. But both the dentist and the assistant made me feel like that had to be done SOON, and we better schedule that NOW! So these 2 strangers are now giving me a guilt trip over some crowns! The assistant took me into one of the offices to see when we could schedule this and how much it would cost us. Honestly it took us longer to get the quote than it took for the exam. The next visit is schedule quite a ways out; well see how much of an "emergency" this truly is. Long wait, strangers in my mouth, hard sell. Im seriously thinking about going to another office.

The appointment scheduling was very easy. However I will not return. I believe I had a decay happening due to pain with cold fluids. The dentist checked and stated it was a gum inflammation. The dentist was wanting to crown a previous filled tooth due to gap generation (top of the tooth was touching adjoining tooth but gap at the gum line) caused by the filling. Unsure why they wouldnt consider grinding the filling and redoing it vs. crowning. Also unsure why the hygienist was making all the recommendations. They wanted to perform the most extreme service for $2,400 out of pocket expense. This was for slight stage of periodontal. When the hygienist probed to check the pockets 80% bled. Well if you probe hard enough you will draw blood. My mouth was sore the next day. The atmosphere was very similar to a used car dealership when covering the options for service. You go into a closed door office and the negotiations begin. I discussed performing this in stages (quadrants) They wanted $971 for one quadrant -you do the math $2,400 for all four but $971 for one ??? I stopped them and stated I will get a second opinion. The second opinion was a whopping $225.00 total out of pocket expense. Had very little bleeding as a result of probing for pockets during second opinion and only needed two quadrants to be worked on not all four. Aspen Dental stated I had moderate periodontal disease and ends up it is only a slight stage in two quadrants. Be wary of this place, seems they run off of commission based services.

It has been almost 10 years since I have gone to a dentist and have a great fear of choking. So when my mouth is numbed, I become panicked, my blood pressure goes up and I cant get out of there fast enough. My first visit to Aspen, they went over what I needed done, which is extensive, and I knew it. They broke it down into small steps, that are manageable financially, and set up a payment plan. I just went in and had 3 teeth pulled, and temporary partials put in. This was the second try and getting the teeth extracted - the first try, I panicked and they were very calming and understanding, set me up with some medication and re-scheduled the appointment without making me feel bad. This time, it went well, the dentist soothed by fears about my throat going numb and choking and it was over in minutes. Ive gone in once to see how the healing is going, and to have the partials adjusted a bit. I can call at anytime to have them adjusted, as the swelling goes down, and I appreciate that as each day they feel a little different. The staff was caring, understanding and patient with my fears and for that I am truly appreciative. I also appreciate that they broke the treatment plan down into pieces that I can handle, and will take the most advantage of my insurance coverage, which is not the greatest.
