Dr. Hu is a so-so dermatologist, not great at listening to his patients’ experiences or skin concerns. He blew off a mole I was concerned about which turned out to be skin cancer (thank god I got a second opinion two months later) and is inept at explaining the diagnosis to his patients. His front desk staff should be working data entry and have ZERO contact with other human beings, as they are beyond rude and have no concern for the welfare of the patients they are serving. Lacking any civil interaction or communication, and this is me being nice. I recommend Dr. Fader at Sweedish in Ballard. He is one of the top skin care specialists in the nation. Dr, Fader is a lovely and compassionate man and what an incredible staff!!!! I have recommended four different people who are thrilled with Dr. Fader and their experience with him and his staff. Dr. Hus is no longer my dermatologist but not because he missed my skin cancer diagnosis, but because of such unpleasant experience with his new front office staff, twice in a week. The last straw came when his office assistant hung up on me when I called and simply said my name. This was after she previously hung up on me two minutes prior for inquiring when she would get around to transferring my medical records (which I had been trying to get for the last two weeks). It is against the law to withhold a patients medical records. Thankfully, I have the confirmed faxes from all the times the faxes were sent and received on their end and have documented every call, time, person spoken to and conversation. Which my attorney assures me will help with any issues I have retaining my medical records and in documenting the appropriate claims and grievances with the necessary state and medical associations that protect patients.

The WORST experience at any doctors office Ive ever had. Dr. Hu had me waiting ONE HOUR before seeing me, did not apologize in the least, was cold, unapproachable, and truly seemed that he did not care. Front desk was unprofessional (think: hugely long hot pink sparkly fake nails). Dr. Hu did not even diagnose me properly (he barely even looked at what I was in for, asked me no questions, sat saying "hmmmm" to himself as if he had no idea what he was looking at, and then randomly decided upon a diagnosis requiring 40 pills of antibiotics (!!!!). Gave absolutely no insight into what it was and had the worst bedside manner. It seriously felt like he randomly decided upon a diagnosis, and according to the dermatologist I saw right after him (since I did not trust Dr. Hus opinion in the least), he did! Second derm. explained perfectly what it was (not what Dr. Hu said at ALL), prescribed a different medication, and had an actual sensible treatment plan and care options for me. When I told this other Dr. what Dr. Hu had said he was baffled and questioned who exactly I saw who would be telling someone with my skin infection to TAKE BATHS (not sanitary), and take a 10 day course of the WRONG MEDICATION. Is Dr. Hu senile (when I first met with him he asked me 3 times to "tell him about the other times I had something like this" right after I had said, multiple times, the reason I was coming in was because I had NEVER had anything like this. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME/MONEY here. Dont be the one who he diagnosis incorrectly for something SERIOUS. This man deserves to lose his license immediately.

Before seeing Dr Hu I went to two other prominent dermatologists on the Eastside with no answer to my condition. I have seen Dr Hu now three times. During the first visit he told me to go down to the lab to take a blood test. He reassured me we would get to the bottom of this issue. It was only after a blood test a condition was definitely confirmed. The previous two drs (incorrectly) diagnosed me and never ordered a blood test. After two years with this condition, I finally have relief! The office staff is VERY kind and considerate. Ive waited to be seen in the office no longer than Ive had to wait in other offices. Dr Hu has kind of a different "bedside manner" that means nothing to me as long as he can provide me with the answers I need. I dont know why there are so many negative reviews in the past, but I do know Im very glad, and relieved to have found Dr Hu.

Best botox I have ever received. Dont judge a book by its cover- this is not your typical fancy med spa. Dr Hu took his time and was extremely careful and precise. I will definitely be back.
