Worst experience ever! It was Friday afternoon when I was referred by my regular vet who was out of town. Our regular groomer thought Bogey our 80lbs mutt may have a bladder infection. We showed up 20 minutes early and waited to see the doctor who did not come in until 3:30. I reported to the assistant while standing in the waiting room the behaviors I noticed the past week and the groomers report. After our wait, the assistant came out and told me the doctor would not see us. I asked why; did the situation seem to serious, should I be worried? She shrugged her shoulders. That was all she did!!! I am not exaggerating I was in shock at their behavior. I immediately called my regular vet and reported my treatment and Bogeys lack of. I was referred on to an amazing emergency clinic where I waited 1 hour to see the vet, paid over $300 and did it all with a smile knowing Bogey was receiving the best care he could get. One last note, while sharing my experience with everyone in the waiting room one of the clerical staff identified the vet I was talking about and said I was their second person this week from that clinic with the same story.

They are so very kind. Our family and extended family have been customers for many years. Their prices are reasonable and they are very good about explaining and helping weigh options that take into consideration the quality of life for your pet as well as the financial costs. We feel like we always get an honest and accurate evaluation. They will refer to specialist if necessary and are happy to work with other clinics. They are a drop in clinic, so no appointments, which works well for us. They are closed a couple hours mid day for surgeries and procedures and they have short hours on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

This hospital found a fellow community members lost dog, told her to leave vacation to come get him, but when she arrived they had given the dog away (24 hrs). Then the clinic had the staff go online to bash the original owner, doesnt surprise me after reading what clients think of this staff. Its on KATU and all over social media. Is this the kind of vet or clinic youd want handling your pet? I wouldnt! I want my vet to not only be good, but ethical and of good character. That isnt going to happen at Hazel Dell Animal Hospital. They wont have a moments peace until they correct their major error in judgment.

I have taken all my pets to Hazel Dell Animal Hosiptal for over 13 years. The clinic provides kind compassionate care. I have had to put 2 of my pet down because of old age. I have to say I have witnessed more sympathy during the process of death and dying from the Vet staff than I have from critical care nurses I have worked with in the ICU. There assessment, diagnosis, plan, treatment and reevaluation followup are excellent. The prices are very reasonble. Leo, Miss Mouse, Lucky, Koa, Mr. Mouse, and Pandora have all had exceptional care by the Vet techs and the Vets at the clinic. :O)

Just went in Wednesday (walk in!) for a puncture wound on my male cat. Staff was super nice and accommodating for a grumpy cat with a leg injury. Was seen by the Dr promptly and given many options for treatment depending on comfort level of treating my animal. Ended up being seen and given some knowledge and antibiotics rather cheaply, my cat got to spend his weekend healing at home in his favorite place (instead of an overnight and possible surgery). Definitely recommending these guys to ANYONE who needs an awesome vet. I will definitely be using them for anything else my pets need.

The staff is very caring and helpful, going beyond expectations. I have a pet with serious health issues and Hazel Dell has provided me much needed encouragement. Dr Stephens is very committed to providing compassionate care and making sure I completely understand all aspects of my pets health and care. My dog was referred to a specialist because his condition is very serious. Hazel Dell has been so helpful and willing to act in conjunction with the specialist to make sure my pet is given the best veterinary care possible.

My grandparents and mom have been going to Dr Slocum for a long time and Ive been going since I can ever remember with my animals. He is kind with them and knows his stuff. Doesnt do random tests just to get money, which is so rare in todays money hungry world. His staff minus a few have changed people from time to time but every person has always been wonderful. I will continue to keep taking my fur babies here even long after slocum retires as his daughter Molly is also there who knows her stuff too.

The little care they showed for returning a lost dog to their correct and legal owner should show you how much care they will show for you and your animal. This should be a warning for all, there are plenty of other great vets out there that will take an extra minute to verify they are doing the right thing for you and your pet. But Hazel Dell Animal Hospital cant be bothered.

Ive had mixed experiences there. Its cheaper then the Banfield nearby but the staff is sometimes awesome and sometimes totally rude. I like that there are walk in hours but they have weird rules about what they can and cannot do with the Vet being there. If the vet isnt there and you cant do shots, then why did you tell me to come at that time!?

This has been our regular vet clinic for a year now. They are very friendly and helpful, and very reasonable in prices. They wont charge you a fortune just to come in. And they have been the BEST resource for our crazed dog. They work well with her and even helped us find a way to calm her down. I dont like going anywhere else.

My family has been taking our pets here for decades and has known Dr. Slocum at least as long. While circumstances have caused me to go a couple of other places (weekend emergencies, etc.), I have never found the same high-quality care offered here. You simple will not find better care for your pet.

Dr.S is a awesome doctor who goes out of his way for my pets. Dr.S also helps the homeless, this is how i met him. I worked at the Share House and he always picks up donations to feed the homeless. Dr. S is a humanitarian.

Great place for our dogs. We have been going there for years. Staff knows who you are, follows up on scheduled care. Dr S is such a kind person. He definitely is a humanitarian when it comes to the animals.

Dr Slocum is so Albert Schweitzer-esk. A gem in Clark County and a life saver to many of my animals. The office might not be state-of-the-art but the compassion is over the top.
