I cant say enough good things about Dr. Stadlen and the staff at American Eye Care! Not only did I get an appointment on a Saturday afternoon at the last minute but only waited a minimal amount of time to be seen by the doctor. Before and after being seen by Dr. Stadlen, multiple members of the staff helped me browse the entire collection and ultimately assisted me in picking out the perfect frames that I am so happy with the day after picking them up, which was less than a week later. Great turn around time on delivery! In terms of my experience with Dr. Stadlen, I have seen many optometrists and opticians, but none took such a personal interest in my eyesight and health as well as who I am and what specific role my eyes play in my life. In addition, he diagnosed a problem that at least the last two doctors missed when identifying my prescription and I can definitely "see" the difference with this new prescription. Dr. Stadlen and AEC should be your first stop when needing to get your next eye exam and update to the latest in stylish and fashionable frames.

This was absolutely the best eyeglass experience Ive had in over a decade. I typically dont take time to fill in this kind of stuff. This is the first time I havent been confused by the whole eyeglass process. The people were friendly and confident. I paid more than I thought I wanted to, but I can see really good! I got high definition lenses and they had them ready ahead of time and I got really cool glasses frames and keep getting comments on how great they look, even from strangers. They also explained about eye health and sunglasses and how sunglasses arent just for looks or brightness, but really important to reduce risk of blindness later in life! I qualified, so I got Care Credit and got to spead my total cost out over 6 months. They made it simple and Im about things being simple. The doctor was friendly and told me about things with eyes no eyedoctor ever told me before. I give em a 6 outta 5 for what its worth. Howard is a pro who knows his stuff and Suzzane could throw-down some style! All good!

This place is the best. The doctor is friendly and def knows what hes doing. Seems like for the first time in my adult life my prescription gets slightly better every two years or worst case stays the same! Never worse! Also, hes able to pinpoint any odd issues you might have pretty easily...in my case, Dry Eye. And, the retail shop....where do I start! The selection is to die for. The best brands, the most stylish frames, and SUPERIOR customer service. If it werent for Jaimie, Id still look like a librarian. So grateful! My most recent purchase, picked by Ciera, are a brilliant pair of aviators by Chloe. These girls will keep you lookin fresh! Sidebar: The wow guarantee they have on their frames is second to none. Bottom line: If youre lucky enough to be able to shop at this eyeglass store, cheers to you!

I just purchased eyeglasses, contacts and sunglasses from American Eyecare and I am so impressed. From start to finish the process was seamless. I had my appointment with Dr. Stadlen who was so knowledgeable and didn’t rush the process and took his time to explain everything to me. My first pair of glasses made me feel dizzy and he replaced them, no questions asked. The girls working behind the counter were so helpful, especially the manager Kayla, who helped me pick out gorgeous name brand frames within my budget. They have all of the newest glasses that I can’t find anywhere else so this will always be my go to place. My eyeglasses and contacts were ready within a few days. I couldn’t be happier. I highly recommend.

I LOVE this place. Went in for an exam, seems pretty basic but it wasnt! Ive never had a doctor ask me several questions and actually be interested in what I do . I later realized he did this to narrow down on exactly HOW i should be using my glasses. Jean helped me pick out a great pair of Tom Fords and she very patiently went over lens options(scracth resistant and glare free lenses) . The staff is very nice and they know their stuff. Ill be back to pick up my glasses and I am very excited to "see".

I was at American Eye Care this past week. After shopping around at the other opticals in Astoria it was obvious to me that they were by far the most professional to work with and had the best selection. Dr Stadlen did a great job with my exam and found that I was over corrected from the doctor I saw at one of the other places. I used my VSP insurance and got great new Prada prescription glasses with transitions. I would absolutely recommend this place. The staff was knowledgeable and friendly.

I went there twice and my eyes/vision is still the same. Doctor has not found my problem. Financially, they overcharged me (Frame was over $300, but online its $105) and I only got refunded because I raised a case with my insurance provider. They were actually shocked that I contacted the provider. Going there was a waste of a month and money. If wasnt for my current optician, my eyes would have been in the same state as American Eye Care left it! AVOID IF YOU DO NOT LIKE BEING ROBBED!

Dr. Stadlen and his staff are incredible. I highly recommend him. He takes the time to really take care of you, listen and provide the best care possible. His staff is friendly and professional. My husband and I have been going to him for years. He just recently took care of me through my Lasik procedure. I couldnt feel more confident and safe than in his hands.

Excelence is all I can feel every time I go with any member of my family, Dr. Jay Binkowitz & Mark are truly one of the best eye doctors in my experience, My wife is very difficult for her prescription and Mark did it right the first time, the place is nice and the staff super friendly. I recommend American Eye Care for all you vision needs. Thank you guys!

Dr. was ok. Staff/owner was over pushy on selling expensive glasses and on the verge of offensive when asked to see an inexpensive pair of glasses . My insurance covered only half of the cost. When the insurance statement came I noticed that they charged me and my insurance company for some of the bill. Not the place to go if you are not prepared to spend.

Dr. Stadlen was great. He brought me back three times so that I could find the perfect contact lens. Thanks to him, I now can wear contacts all day long without dryness. But the sales staff is pushy, the pricing schemes are confusing, and its not always clear what deals are available. I got a good deal there in the end, but it required a lot of haggling.

Dr Stadlen is one of the best eye Doctors Ive been to! He is friendly, patient, and the visit is always quick without feeling rushed. The rest of his staff is fantastic and they have a great assortment of frames to choose from. Whenever a friend is looking for a new Optometrist I always send them his way!
