I will no longer be bringing my six animals to BSVC. We have been in for approximately 20 visits so far. While the vet that we have had primary contact with seems great, and some of the vet techs are good too, I have been unsatisfied with just about everything else in the practice. I was in recently to get six laser therapy treatments for my 15 year old dog. The appointment in which this initial decision was made was delayed by more than two hours. There were several emergencies that day, however, this was not the first time that my appointment was postponed by emergencies. I completely understand that emergencies happen. However, it seems to me that almost every single appointment Ive had thus far at your practice has been delayed for some reason or another. It makes me wonder, if emergencies come in and bump everyone back this often at BSVC, then why isnt someone on staff there just to handle emergencies? If emergencies cannot be handled so that other patients get seen, then why are patients not told to go to the two emergency vets instead? I tried really hard to be patient, but 2 hours waiting and 1 hour for the appointment portion is just ridiculous. I was given a $10 discount for my troubles. This was off of a bill that was more than $400. I started to get pretty angry at the two hour mark, mainly because of the discomfort of my dog. No one offered him water or a blanket to lay on. He was just expected to lay on the hard floor (he has arthritis and was there for leg and hip pain!) because of course I didnt think I needed to bring a bed for him to lay in for two hours. I should have just left but I really wanted him to get treatment that day, as he was not walking. Since he finished therapy more than two weeks ago, no one has called or emailed to follow up on his well-being. Of these six appointments, we were only seen on time once. This was not the first time that my wait was extremely long. I had to wait over an hour on another night just to get into a room for my cat to be seen, and I even had to wait more than an hour once for a vet tech appointment, which was just for an injection! I would say it was just my bad luck, except for the fact that I come in so frequently, and have only been seen on time once or possibly twice total. During a different laser therapy treatment appointment, I also waited an hour to be seen, and the couple next to me had been waiting for their appointment for over 45 minutes. I tried to buy my cats prescription cat food one time. I knew exactly what I needed, so I grabbed a bag and went up to the desk to pay. I was the only client in the reception area at the time. It took 30 minutes for me to buy one bag of cat food and one bag of treats. I was also overcharged not once, but twice, for the monthly specials offered on medicine. I requested that I receive whatever amount was required in order to receive these discounts, but did not, so I was later told via email that my purchase was not eligible for the special (even though I had requested that the person at the desk give me the required number to earn the discount). The other mistake was supposedly credited to my account, however, I have never received confirmation that it was. When my dog had to have a tooth extracted, I was worried, due to his age. By the afternoon I was starting to get anxious, so I called for an update. I was told that he was fine, awake, and ready to be picked up. I was never called to be informed of any of this. He would have just been sitting there waiting for hours had I not taken the initiative to call myself. Im so grateful that nothing more serious happened during this time as I cannot imagine going through anything extremely upsetting at this practice. I would drive all the way back to Maine for treatment rather than rely on this practice, and that is not right.

Hands down the BEST vet clinic I have ever experienced! I was searching for a Vet in my area (Malta) and called a handful of local clinics. I chose this clinic over all based on how courteous, informative, and helpful the front desk staff was over the phone. The facility is clean, big, and animal friendly (dogs on one side of the waiting room and cats on the other). You enter the exam room directly from waiting room and never have to wait long. The vet techs are friendly, interactive with my dogs, and educated. The most absolute plus is Dr. Eric Anderson, who truly has a love and respect for animals. He does a thorough exam of my dogs every time, performs vaccines in front of you, and always answers questions and/or makes recommendations within concern of the owner and pets interest (i.e. costs of tests/medications). He never forces any extra costs (i.e. imaging, medications, tests) that do not appear to be necessary (i.e. heart worm test was not necessary for my 4 month old puppy in April since possibility of being bitten by mosquito was extremely low), and the visit is never rushed. I know my animals are in good hands with Dr. Anderson and his team.

The other review couldnt be more wrong. We brought our cat in after he starting acting weird and became blind. They were able to figure out what was going on with minimal tests, since we couldnt afford much. They diagnosed him with a brain tumor and gave us a medication to give him. About a month later he got worse and couldnt keep food down, so the time came to have him put to sleep. They were extremely compassionate and caring in an obviously difficult time. They even took an ink print of his paw as a keepsake and made enough for each member of our family. About a week later we received a sympathy card in the mail from them along with a little pouch containing some of his fur. I cant say enough good things about this vet. They were beyond compassionate and thoughtful in our time of need.

Newly relocated to Ballston Spa from New Jersey, and just adopting a rescue from North Carolina, I relied on my new neighbors referral to BSVC, and I am so pleased that I did. Max received a complete head to tail examination with Dr. Smith, who was extremely patient and kind with both Max and I. She spent an overwhelming amount of time with us, and reviewed all aspects of his current state, and ongoing care. Appropriate preventive treatments were prescribed, and Max was given a clean bill of health. A positive experience for both of us. And, surprisingly, as a new client, there was no charge for the exam! Ongoing followup has been more than I could ever expect, and I am happy that Max will be in the best hands at BSVC. Thanks to my new Ballston Spa neighbor, we have Maxs needs covered.

I am so happy to have switched my pets to this practice. So far, Annie, Buster, and Edie have each had at least one visit and impressed doesnt begin to describe how I felt about these vets and their staff. I got an enthusiastic greeting upon walking in followed by great care for my pets at each appointment. I dont think every practice really understands how important seeing the staff interact with your pet is but this one is packed with people who love animals! So far, Ive met three of the vets and they are so great. In short, Im a total fan and highly recommend them. It seems every aspect of pet care has been considered. Ill give them a pass if they wince when I bring my 22 lb tabby, Newman, in. Hes a real freak show.
