I suggest going to another vet clinic. My cat had a cut on his paw and this clinic was minutes away. I saw the single female vet, and while she was friendly, lacks experience in diagnosing medical conditions. After the 3rd bandage change at North Shore, kittys cut was no longer a surface wound, but had worsened 50 fold! I was in shock and horror that after bringing him to this clinic, a small gash now had a large bulb of tissue growing out of it. And not once did the lady vet suggest that there may be an underlying immune disorder, instead ordering that I do a $500 surgical procedure to stitch the wound up. COME AGAIN? My cat was also constantly biting/shaking the bandage off, even with a cone on his head. He was unable to walk on all 4s, and instead was hopping around on 3 legs, as the bandaging was SO bulky and amateur. Again, I would do my homework before visiting this place - as prices are NOT even cheap. I wasted $90 for consultations and 7 time-consuming bandage changes before I wised up, knowing this clinic did not have what it took to heal my kitty. I eventually found my saviour at the spectacular Humane Society of New York, whose vet correctly diagnosed and healed my long suffering cat.

Knowledgeable, Trustworthy and Personable Veterinarians/Staff Members I have been going to North Shore Animal Hospital for about ten years now and as an owner of two dogs and two cats, I can wholeheartedly say I trust the staff members at North Shore Animal Hospital. Yes, their examination fee is a bit high, Id say if they dropped it down by $20/$30, itll be more tolerable. However, I have personally experienced how they genuinely care for sick animals. I havent experienced any act of them trying to ring me up for obscene charges or attempting to do nonsense lab work. As a matter of fact, several of the veterinarians have waived multiples fees on several of my sick fur babies. For example, my cat had to remain overnight to be under observation and they waived an overnighter fee. Many of us know how much that can cost. Another vet, waived a hydration shot fee because, my rescue cat was severely dehydrated besides other ailments which they successfully treated for. I cant comment on behalf of others but I know wholeheartedly that I trust North Shore Animal Hospital, not only for their professionalism but because of their love for animals.

THE WORST VET IN QUEENS. This place comes off as a professional facility with all of their state of the art equipment. DO NOT BE FOOLED. This place is only interested in how much money they can make. My dog came in very sick on a Saturday afternoon after not eating for two days. The doc on call did an exam and could only come up eith a ridiculous assesent of congrstion in his ears. We brought him back numerpus times during the week only to be dissapointed by the lack of knowledge and lack of compassion by the vets. The final breaking point was when the very uncaring Dr. Foley told my husband thst we shoud either "go fishing or cut the line" in response to next steps for our dog. We pulled him out of there immediately and took him straight to North Shore Animal League, where their main concern is not how much money they can rape you for but rather how we can help your pet. If you go to NSAH your pet will surely be treated like crap.

I wonder why the reviews are so good in the recent years here? They say they care about animals, but they really dont. You can tell after one visit. My friends dog ended up dying at the place because the vet techs mistreated the dog and the dog became restless and traumatized as they tried to tie him with a rope. The workers are very inexperienced and they seem to be learning how to do everything while diagnosing your pet... If you decide to go, make sure not to see Dr. Rosen (owner - doesnt have good integrity), but Dr. Zhen. Also, ask to keep your pet and have them do everything in front of you. Everything is very overly priced. If anything, please go find a nicer vet who would really care...Otherwise, visit this place and have your pet used as a training animal for the techs. (People get discounts if they post good reviews on Yelp from this place...so there...)

Ive been a patient for about 20 years. In that time, Ive tried many other vets in the area, and I always came back. At the moment I have 9 cats, but Ive had as many as 15. Ive brought in a cat with a severely broken leg, and a friends dog who was hit by a car and also had a badly broken leg. Both had successful outcomes. My sisters cat had been given up on by several other doctors, but here he was correctly diagnosed with diabetes and lived several quality years The doctors are great, but the support staff is what makes the difference. I think they really love animals. I brought in one cat with a respiratory infection who was about half feral. She had to stay several days, and when I got her back she was a lap cat! I think she must have been treated very well. Im always very secure that my animals will be treated correctly.

The past weekend, my fiance and I knew our elderly cat Grace was suffering and needed help. It was a hard time, and even though we knew it was the end that did not make it any easier for my fiance or myself. The staff here at North Shore Animal Hospital were compassionate, professionals who helped us through probably the toughest choice in our life so far. They allowed us to grieve and show our emotions. They were respectful, polite and understanding. Dr. Zhen helped us through until the final moments and in her both my fiance and I saw a truly caring, compassionate professional who loves animals. I would recommend The North Shore Animal Hospital to anyone who has a pet, because the staff truly cares about you, your pet and your family. Thank you for your help and compassion during our time of loss. -Steven & Steven.

Ive been coming here since my aunt had her dog (10+ years) and since I had my dog (4+ years). Dr Rosen and Dr Zhen are the best vets I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. They take such good care of the animals that are being treated and they dont pressure you into doing something you dont want to do. Dr. Rosen doesnt beat around the bush, hes very straight forward and down to business and returns calls in a timely manner. I know that my dog and my aunts dog are in good hands when they are there. Not to mention they keep you updated when your pet has to be kept for the day. Never an issue and the prices are affordable. I would recommend this place to everyone! Thank you Dr. Rosen, Dr. Zhen and the wonderful and professional staff that manage this vet clinic. You are all angels in disguises.

I rescued a dog that got hit by a car and brought him to n.s.a.h. What a mistake! They nickel and dimed me for everything and took advantage of my kindness for animals. I left the hopsital with a bill for $355. I was in shock, here I was trying to do the right thing and these guys could care less. Now the dog has a wonderful home in VA but has problems with his legs. When I asked the n.s.a.h. for his x-rays they made up some bogus story of why I needed to pay even more money to get the x-rays I alreay paid for. I have another dog at home who I would never even consider bringing to these people. I think a good vet should be more concerned with the well being of animals and not so focused on how much money they can jerk you out of. I will never recommend this place to anyone!
