Very Nasty front desk customer service and mean nurse. We made an appointment for the first time at Hudson Highland for our less than 4lb Chihuahua to have her nails trimmed, the cost was $10.00. The nurse that came out from the back room to take my pet was like a bulldog. My pet was on the floor and when the nurse went down to snatch her up, my pet growled, naturally, what can you expect from a tiny dog when this bully of a nurse tries to snatch her up, be a little gentle, let the dog smell the back of your hand at least. This nurse is supposed to have some knowledge on how to treat animals. Anyway the nurse steamed off and returned with a muzzle which I put on. The nurse than took her away to have her nails trimmed and 2 minutes later came carrying my pet back to us like a loaf of bread. This nurse did not smile or was courteous in the bit. Now the kicker! My wife and I went to pay the $10.00 at the front desk to the grumpy old lady only to be told its now $15.00. We asked why and they told us our pet was DIFFICULT, that it took two people to trim her nails, in less than two minutes mind you. We have been getting our dogs nails trimmed for over 5 years from petsmart and never had this problem. Very rude nasty people. Back to petsmart.

I cant imagin bringing my little man to any other vet hospital. HH is amazing! First, any time Ive had an unexpected issue they have been able to fit us in without an emergency charge if I call before noon. Second, the vets REALLY care. Dr Able reminds me of the old-school-practible-farm vet my family took my childhood pets to. He knows his stuff. Dr. Christiansen must be a doggy Buddhist. When my dog had a scary reaction to a tick prevention a few years ago I witnessed and was comforted by his sencere compassion. Recently we met Dr. Springer and she is just all around attentive an awesome! She might be my favorite. Third, I dont know the her name but the vet assistant who is always there with the bob haircut is great. That isnt to say that they havent all been great but shes an especially gentle pet-loving person. Fourth, they will not rip you off. Medical care is expensive for humans and animals but all of the docs in my experience always have my and my pets best interest at heart. I will concede that some of the administrative staff in the past have been a little on the grumpy side, I have seen a vast improvement the past couple of years. Im always greeted with smiles and praise of my cute pup.

Ive been taking my dog here for two years and I really like this place. The staff is courteous to me and always gentle with my Westie. I have to disagree with the other reviews here. The staff has a low turnover rate. I almost always see one of three vets and the secretaries know my dog and I by name. They have always given me good advice and have never tried to upsell me anything. The only reason I didnt give 5 stars is because they can be a bit more expensive than other vets but to me the friendly atmosphere is worth the extra money.

BEWARE OF UPSELLING TACTICS. I suggest you shop around before going to this Vet. The vaccination costs are extremely high. My wife went to the clinic just to get booster shots for two cats. They were able to scare her into buying all kinds of blood panels and optional vaccinations. She walked out of the office with a $484.52 visit. We will never be going to this office again. There are so many things we could have used this money for. We feel like we have been bamboozled into buying things we dont need.

This place is just terrible. The front desk girls are mean and nasty. They are down right rude. It s like entering into a twilight zone. They are mean, I mean really nasty attitudes! They are so uncaring and rude and unprofessional. The vet techs are not knowledgeable of tests and procedures. Its really frustrating. The first impression is wonderful (based on the looks of the building) but after that it goes all down hill. My dog has been so sick and they could careless, they actually brought me to tears!

Very nasty, and slow front desk attendant. I was 10 minutes late for a Friday afternoon appointment and they refused to see my dog. He was suffering from a nasal infection and was having a hard time breathing. It was more important to the facility that they made it to their weekend activities on time, rather then seeing a suffering animal. Would not recommend this vet. There are too many other animal caring facilities in the area then to bring my dog to this one again.

The care my dogs get at Hudson Highlands is second to none. The staff is caring, the doctors are very through, and our groomer, Laura, is incredible. They know our dogs and we have never EVER had an issue with billing, getting an appointment, or coming in when theres an emergency. I would never take my furry babies to another place.

There is a high turnover rate for the vets there. One of the assistants is pretty rough, even when I told them and they saw how gentle my pet was, she was still quite rough with her. Depending on who you get at the front desk it can be a good or bad experience.
