Dr. Diggle is amazing! When my Butterscotchs eyelids started to swell and turn inwards I took her to the Ridgewood animal hospital. They looked at her only a few moments before telling me she needed surgery that would cost $3500! Then my co-workers told me about Dr. Diggle. With their great reviews I made an appointment to see him right away. He took his time examining her and talked us through everything. He then told us that she didnt need surgery, it was just allergies! So he prescribed some antibiotics and topical ointment and sent us on our way with a follow up planned. Two weeks later and her condition is all cleared up, her eyes opened wide and bright! There was a small bump though on the corner of one of her lids, which could have been a tumor or an abscess. Dr. Diggle preformed a blood test to see if she could be put under for surgery (she is considered a senior dog at 9yrs.) and once we were given the okay we set up a surgery removal date, and he even bundled in a tooth cleaning and the removal of a few skin tags. The who thing including the post op antibiotics was about $800. Plus the other medications the total I paid was around $1000. The prices are amazingly cheap for all the procedures and medications needed. But the best part was the kindness of the staff and the time Dr. Diggle took to see us and answer all of our questions. They even let me have a few minutes with Butterscotch for pre-op hugs and kisses, assuring me that she would be okay. He is the best vet I have been to, and I will continue to take Butterscotch there whenever needed.

I have used Dumont Animal Hospital for years, since Dr. Diggle was a solo practitioner. He returned my calls the same evening, even if he had to call after office hours, which I found unusually attentive. Thankfully, I havent had to make any anxious calls in the last several years. The practice has expanded significantly since then, and Ive seen all but one of the vets there. Dr. Bortz, in particular, is amazing. When we had to put one of our dogs down, she rearranged her schedule so that she could be the one there with us, and she stayed with us until we were ready to say our final goodbye. She is great with the animals and does not recommend procedures just to make a buck. I have never seen the conditions that a prior commenter mentioned. The exam rooms have always been pristine when I go in and out, and I see the staff cleaning the floors and examining tables all the time. And while Im mentioning staff, I have found everyone who works in the office to be kind and friendly. It is true that the waiting room can be cramped, and there can be a bit of a wait before youre seen, but the wait time often depends on when you are there. Saturday mornings are extremely busy. And if there is an emergency, it can push back a regularly scheduled appointment. As far as Im concerned, thats a minor inconvenience for the knowledge that if I had an emergency, my pets would be seen earlier rather than later.

I have been taking my pet here for 12 years and Dr Diggle treated him for about 9 of those years then he expanded and brought new doctors to his staff which have been great as well. Ive never had any issues other than the medications can sometimes be pricey but thats probably the same everywhere. I did find that Dr Diggle would sometimes try to talk me into too many meds at the same time when I was just trying to find one good thing that worked for bad skin allergies. But I would be honest with him and tell him the treatment had to be more cost effective for my pockets, LOL. I could see the love he has for animals and I like that about him and his staff. He was there for us the one time that my pet was hit by a car and was in critical. He made phone calls to another big hospital to let them know how sick our pet was and then constantly checked on our pet during his recovery. I thought that was awesome of Dr Diggle, besides the fact that his beside manner is great. I have seen another female doctor who is great as well and I will continue going here until my pet is no longer with us.

If I could give this place zero stars, I would! My boyfriend and I were told to bring our ten month old Mini Aussie here after we had a horrible experience at Closter Animal Hospital. Well, the experience at Dumont was honestly way worse. The vet made me feel extremely uncomfortable. I am a very heavily tattooed female and from the second she saw me, she would not stop staring at me and giving me weird looks. She also made a rude comment about my shirt. I felt completely uncomfortable and discriminated against. Its none of her business what my tattoos or clothing choices are about! I will never bring my dog back here. Not to mention I have PTSD and severe social anxiety, and this woman triggered me beyond belief. I was in tears when we left because she made me feel so bad about myself. Stay far away from Dumont animal hospital. Theyre also very money hungry and love to misdiagnose and over medicate. Bring your dog or cat to Valley Cottage Animal Hospital instead!!!

I am a first time Dog Mom, I really wanted to find the best possible Vet for Tootsie to be spayed at. I had a certificate from "Friends of Animals" and it seemed only the worse places took it, or if a place did take it, they added on lot of costs. Dumont Animal Vet was just perfect. Tootsies a very timid dog, so I had brought her teddy bear & blanket w/me hoping they would allow them. Most places dont because of getting lost, or germs???.. Tootsie was so nervous she was shaking all over. As Dr. Diggle was explaining what was going to happen, he gave her a shot to calm her down while she was in my arms. I thought that was so kind. Hes definetly someone who cares about the animals well being & state of mind. <3 And he thought the blanket & teddy were a great idea if it helped her. Everything went so well and the staff was great. Im going to be going there from now on. Thank you Dr. Diggle!

There is no caring for my pet. Its more like they see dollar signs. The waiting room is cramped and has every kind of animal:dogs, cats, rabbits, parrots, lizards. My dogs are prey driven. We had our border collie mix spayed here. They took her in at 9am and didnt do surgery until nearly 12pm. When we came to pick her up, they had us wait in a filthy examining room. Scum was on the walls and waxy hair was on the ground. I was very happy my dog survived, but I will not go back. The front office slaves away with no direction. They dont give a lick about the pet owners. Money driven, patient who cares

I couldnt ask for a better Veterinarian Office for my precious babies! Everyone is so nice and friendly and while their prices are affordable, in no way is quality sacrificed! If any of my cats are staying over night(s) they take each one of my check up calls, sometimes several a day and take the time to reassure and comfort me and let me know I can call and check up as I feel I need to! Im sure they have more important things to attend to; but every time, they take that time just for me! We love Dr. Diggle and wouldnt dream of going anywhere else!
