Dr. Suss and her team at Bergen Veterinary Hospital are wonderful. Shes down to earth and understands your concerns about your pet. My experience with Dr. Suss came about because my dog had a really bad ear infection. Dr. Suss was our second vet we visited to treat our dog. Our regular vet from a pretty well established practice in Edgewater had never treated an ear infection before. Which was really surprising. The treatment that she prescribed was ineffective and she didn’t even give us instructions on how to give him his medication. Time for a new Vet!!! So I did some research online and I really liked Dr. Suss’s background. She is smart, thorough and patient. More important, she is extremely knowledgeable and up to date about internal medicine and preventive care. She will also consult with other Dr’s on your pets care to make sure she is on the right track, she takes the time to answer questions, she always returns my calls and she doesnt push unnecessary and expensive procedures. And she is very gentle and loving with my dog even though he is a Jack Russell and can be difficult to handle. My dog was very unbalanced, walked in circles and his head tilted at an angle. She diagnosed him with an inner ear infection. She started us out with a treatment plan and we immediately saw results. She was patient, answered 5 million questions and explained the treatment. She even checked in with us almost every day to see how our dog was responding. After several visits to Bergen Veterinary Hospital I can honestly say that I highly recommend them to all my friends and family. My dog is like my baby. Its so important to work with a veterinarian that you trust and feel comfortable with. I never write reviews but because of the excellent care that my dog received I felt I needed to share. Everyone who works in the office really loves animals and is always nice. Especially Dr. Suss and Lia and all the vet techs!! It’s really a great place to take your pet. They also do grooming and have a doggie day care.

I am so grateful I found Bergen Veterinary Hospital! I have about 30 years of experience going to different animal hospitals, and this place is #1 in my book. Dr. Suss is smart, calm, kind, truly loves animals, and takes the time to explain everything in a way thats easy to understand. She offers options and works with you to make the decision thats best for your animal, and she is sensitive to peoples financial limitations. Id spend my last penny on my cats, but Dr. Suss doesnt try to go the most expensive route just because she can get away with it. She tries to do whats best and most appropriate. And if she makes a suggestion and I decide not to go that way, she doesnt have an ego about it like many doctors. Last year, we had to say goodbye to our beloved Pepper after 16-1/2 years. It was so important that this be handled well (Ive had some bad experiences at other hospitals), and Im so thankful for the care and respect with which Pepper was treated that day by Dr. Pellicano, and every time before when we had to take him in for something. We also have a cat with asthma who has been to Bergen Veterinary Hospital a bunch of times, always treated so well by the staff. Everyone there is wonderful. I cant thank them enough for all theyve done for us and our cats.

Amazing is the only way I can describe the service provided by Dr. Suss and her staff! I switched from another veterinary hospital after obtaining Pet Assure, and chose BVH because of all the positive reviews. All of the staff are incredibly kind and knowledgeable, and their facilities are spotless. They offer a "Puppy Package" which costs $500 and includes the first check-up, certain vaccinations, the pre-anesthesia blood work and spay/neuter (really a good deal for the quality of work and all that is included). My puppy Sierra was recently spayed (and had her top baby canine teeth removed) and I became rather emotional when dropping her off, but Dr. Suss and Lia completely understood and really helped me calm down. After the spay, I was provided with detailed post-operative instructions and they called to get daily status updates to make sure her healing was going smoothly. It has been over a month and Sierra is doing great and I couldnt be happier with the work Dr. Suss did. I really cannot speak highly enough of Dr. Suss and the rest of the people at Bergen Veterinary Hospital, and I definitely will not take Sierra anywhere else.

My husband and I are extremely happy we have found this place. I will start off with just calling in. The receptionist Jeanine (hopefully I spelled that right) was outstanding. She made me feel so very comfortable and trusting. She is professional, caring and polite. Jill was just as outstanding. She made me and my husband feel very comfortable. Of course she made our chihuahua Marley feel comfortable and safe. Jill is very knowledgeable. We felt she was in good hands. Then we meet Dr. Suss. We felt once again safe and comfortable. She informed us and educated us. She handled Marley with love and care. She is fantastic and just so very caring. When it comes to our pets it is very important that they be treated like if it were their own. Dr. Suss is AMAZING! She taught us how to brush our little ones teeth. My dog felt overall safe. Dr. Suss and her staff are FABULOUS. I recommend everyone to go. You will not be disappointed. They are very loving people who cares about the pets and owners. YAY for Bergen Veterinary. I am very content.

I brought my dog for them to take a look at her eye cause she couldnt open in at it looked like it was infected and the receptionist told me that they cant take a look cause the dr is seeing her last appointment which was at 6:20pm and the clinic closes at 8pm so she had plenty of time to see whats going on with my dogyy put the " lady" said that the dr is done after that appointment and she HAS TO BE SOMEWHERE after that, previously to that I called and she said that they dont have any availability which I understand but her eye was getting worse and I decided to go. I felt so disappointed because I have two dogs( Benny and Bella ) and I always brought them there but this is my last time, they always made me wait at least 20 min even if I had appointment and the actual visit would take 10 min. So if it is an emergency they can just take a look and tell me whats going on so I wont be panicking but I guess thats not the case with this animal hospital. And I never seen more rude receptionist than her. Wont recommend to anyone.

Ive raised pets for almost 35 years and my experiences so far with Bergen Veterinary Hospital are some of the best that Ive had. Dr. Suss is very knowledgeable, well informed and has great insight into pet issues and solutions. She herself is a life long pet owner and also understands the challenges with being a pet parent. I like very much how the times that Ive brought my pets in she can explain different options, their associated costs, risks and time frame for resolution so you can weigh out your options when making your decisions. I hate to say it but a lot of other vets assume youre willing to simply pay through the teeth for whatever care theyre offering or else they push for you to get pet insurance because that would be the only way you could afford them. I actually left another vet in Englewood because that was my experience with him. All in all, Bergen Veterinary Hospital is a great place to find help in caring for your pets health and well being.
