I have multiple issues with this agency and I am aware that I am not the only one. First of all 95% of the aides need to be retrained. Especially in their professionalism. Aides constantly use their cell phones in the patients home during working hours. They do not practice infection control nor follow Plan of Care (POC). Often, aides do not report changes regarding the patients health to their nurse or supervisor. Instead, aides take matters into their own hands and put themselves in a situation that also puts the patient in danger. Aides attempt to cover up when they need to report matters to the agency because there is a fear of reprisal (job syndrome). An example would be an aide pushing soap up the patients rectum because the patient is constipated rather than contacting the patients nurse. Some aides administer medication(s) to patients, which they are not trained to do. When it involves medication, an aide should just remind and assist. I would never allow some of the aides in this agency to take care of my goldfish or hamster, much less one of my loved ones. Supervisors need to take a training course in the agency, regarding following guidelines. They cover up their mistakes, blame it on the aides, and do not return calls. Due to the mistakes of the supervisors that are blamed on the aides, aides are called in for discipline. Supervisors do not follow the rules of the agency as well. It is the root of the issue relating to the behavior of the aides. When an aide does pursue to act professionally or simply do the right thing and follow the agencys rules, the supervisor often does not appreciate it, creating a bad image of the aide in the supervisor and thus the agencys eyes. There is an issue regarding the hours of the home health aides. Aides should be working at least 40 hours according to the agencys guidelines. Most aides receive less than 20 hours per week. The hours are not set in stone either. Aides are often contacted only a little while before going to the patients care. In the case of an emergency where an aide must fill in for another, the aide is contacted only an hour in advance to be at the patients home, regardless the distance. Only in the case of an emergency, this aide is being treated with respect, in any other setting, the aides are treated as objects. This organization needs the agencys own nurses to check on some of the aides working in the patients homes, especially aides who fail to follow POC. This agency has many faults that must be dealt with as soon as possible. The agency is slowly creating a bad reputation for themselves and more and more aides are beginning to realize it too. These aides are leaving the agency one by one, especially the ones who are good and following protocol, which mind you, is only a handful. The management is not following its own rules, leading the agency into this darkness. THIS AGENCY IS CURSED!!!! In one of my personal experiences, a Best Choice nurse came to the home of the patient and talked down on the aides in front of the family members although the family members strongly appreciated the care the aide provided for their loved one. The nurse screamed at the aide on the phone when something happened after it was already reported. Nurse Wendy OFaharety needs to be fired. She is a disgrace to the agency that comes in with a snotty nose and a snotty attitude.

This agency is horrible first they allow their aides to dress unprofessional then they send you aides that cant do this and they cant do that then what are they here for. They need to start taking their jobs more seriously. If your not able 2 give the client 100% then this is not the job four you.

If I could give this place no stars I would. Horrible staff, non helpful and incompetent. A complete waste of time. If you are serious about making Home Health Aide a career or finding a job as a HHA do not go there, you will seriously regret it.
