We found this Veterinary Hospital because it was in our neighborhood. We brought our two dogs because we had hoped to build a long term relationship like we had with previous Veterinarians . We booked an office visit to have our pets checked and give them their anual vaccinations. On the surface, they were very kind, and were comparable to other vets weve been to. But be careful of this Veterinarian. THEY WILL OVERCHARGE! We were overcharged for multiple services. I compared our bill to others in the Bronx, Queens, and Manhattan areas. The Doctor pulls a fast one by giving multiple shots when combined vaccinations are standard procedure elsewhere. Also his "in-house" lab results are double else where. We are very easy going. Our pets are in good general health, except for an ear infection which was cleaned at the office. and a wart on her paw which he gave a topical spray. These two medications he charged $40.00 over the market prices. Doesnt he think that the pet owners can check around? I mentioned to the Vet. that his prices were high, when he told us our total, and his response was "what do you expect me to do about it?" I later sent him a letter asking a reduction in fees. but he didnt even respond. This type of overbilling causes two concerns. 1, is because of his location he feels he can overcharge pet owners because there is no other Vets around. I find that discussting because of the make up of the neighborhood is not that with high incomes. 2, it brings in the question that in times of emergency, he would comprise the level of care because of his desire to overcharge the client. I WILL NEVER TAKE MY PETS HERE AGAIN, I ADVISE ALL TO DO THE SAME. As a pet owner the relationship with your Veterinarian is a relationship of trust, If they will overcharge you at the regular care, what will they do at the point of an emergency.

I went to this veterinarian awhile back when my dog was younger. I gave him another try today. I never used their grooming services. I spent $326 for this visit, vaccinations, medication for his eyes, and plus grooming. Grooming was $65.00 which is not expensive but you expect to get the best when you pay any amount for services. The grooming was not what I expected, I HATED it. I informed the groomer that this cut was not what I showed her from the picture. I felt the doctor wasnt the most pleasant person. It was more of what are you hear for and this is the price. Its wasnt really a customer friendly place which is a very important factor for me when it comes to me spending my money anywhere. The receptionist was nice but wasnt really knowledge about products and service being advertise in the office. It was sad because she admitted I should know this. Im looking at my daughter like OMG. You should never say you dont know to a customer. Unfortunately, I will not be returning back to the Veterinarian office. After I got home and looked at dog my completely I noticed that the groomer had left my dog with a bald spot under his neck and ear which was cover with a blue dog scarf. So, I immediately called the office explain to the receptionist what was wrong. She stated if you want the doctor to call on Monday I give him the message. I stated yes. On August 22, 2016, I called the office to see if I could bring in my dog to show the doctor the bald spot from the groomer and to inform that my dog has been trembling all weekend after his visit. So, the receptionist stated the doctor is here if you want to speak with him but we do not have any availability to come in until Tuesday or Thursday. I told her I will not be able to make it on these days. So, the doctor gets on the phone I explained to him about the trembling of the dog. He immediately saids, you were unhappy with the grooming I said yes very unhappy.. He stated to me why would you put up a negative review then expect for me to help you when I shouldve came to him 1st with the problem. You should help me because I paid for services that wasnt what I ask for, thats why you should help me. I spent $326, thats why. My negative review is going to impact his business. He also ask me why I would put a negative review. When your not happy with the service you recieved and paid for you express you unhappiness. I stated to the its alright Ill just get the media involved. It appears to me that the doctor thinks my review is the only negative review. It isnt. Clearly when I left the office, the groomer or the receptionist seem to be unbothered by my unhappiness with the haircut the groomer gave my dog. As a business owner this doctor was very unprofessional. If I wrote this negative review and my dog was in your care and he trembling and shaking as a love for animals, he shouldve said bring him in lets see what wrong with your dog.. Thats what real animal lovers do. I wish I was able to post pictures of my dogs haircut to show. PLEASE DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME & MONEY AT THIS VET OFFICE..

Very disappointing service. The vet was completely disengaged, and had no actual solutions to my dogs issues other than prescriptions and outside specialists...definitely shouldnt be call an animal hospital with so few experts on site. I came in for two issues: my dog, Ralph, was limping, and he had bleeding hives all over his body. The vet conducted a $400 x-ray only to say that there could be early signs of hip dysplasia, but despite my repeated questions to see what we could do to help, such as more exercise or less, the vet wouldnt say. Also, my dog had a swollen paw on the limping leg, which the vet hadnt noticed in his rush to conduct an expensive x-ray. I asked him about it after the x-ray and he walked back to review my dog and confirmed that it was swollen. I asked if hip dysplasia would cause a swollen paw, and the vet said no. So wouldnt you expect the vet to try to diagnose if the limp had something to do with the swollen paw?!? But not this vet...he was too focused on prescribing ongoing prescriptions. The second issue was the bleeding hives. He originally asked if my dog had been given antibiotics in the past, and if that had helped. I said yes, but that I was trying to find the root cause rather than simply treat the symptoms. He only suggested that we take the dog to a dermotologist ("they have those in the city" he said), and left it at that. What kind of vet doesnt help their patient explore options? I was asking about food triggers or what other issues could cause the bleeding hives, yet the vet didnt even take the time to examine my dogs skin. I will not be going back here. I was fooled by all of the positive reviews, but given the poor service, disengaged staff, and sad looking state of the office, I can only think that the positive reviews here are fakes. Worst $500 spent to care for my dog. :-(
