I was referred to Vistasite eye care by my sons PCP, when I arrived for his appointment I was asked to fill out paperwork with my sons information which is normal because it was his first time there. I finished the paperwork and was glad we didnt have to wait too long to be seen. This is where things took a turn for the not so pleasant experience. We were escorted to the back where we met with the Dr., the first thing she asked me was what was my sons insurance, I told her what insurance he had and all she said was "we dont take that insurance so I wont be able to treat your son today unless you pay $154 for the exam." I have never in my life felt so uncomfortable with any doctor as I did with her, she was so rude and acted as if it was my fault that they didnt take the insurance. I informed her that It was OK and that Id find another doctor who took his insurance. She than proceeded to say that she would do a routine check and got out her little light flashing it in my sons eye. My son is 4 years old and has developmental delays so sometimes he has a hard time understanding things and people, especially people he doesnt know. Instead of being patient with him the way I thought a Dr was supposed to be she kept getting upset saying he doesnt listen and she cant work with him. That wasnt the case he was just afraid of her!! She was just downright mean!! Then she made my son cry by saying she was going to go get someone to give him a shot if he didnt tell her what letter he was looking at. Afterwards she told me I wouldnt be able to tell you anything because he doesnt listen, he would need to get his eyes dilated. I just said OK hoping to just get out of that room and comfort my baby. Well I finally found a great doctor to treat my son but the wicked witch Dr from Vistasite eye care who didnt accept my sons insurance and couldnt work with him because he didnt listen still billed my sons insurance company saying she treated him!! So he was unable to get treated for his eye by a Dr that could have actually helped him and done something for him so he didnt have to suffer any more. When I called Vistasite eye care to try and resolve the issue she came on the telephone line and said that basically she took out time to see my son and that they were not a free clinic. So now I understand how it is... Not every Dr. cares about peoples health or well being, they just want to make sure they get their money.even if it means my son has to sacrifice being treated by a Dr. That actually cares.that lady is the worst Dr, and should not be allowed to work with children. She has no Patience and no kindness whatsoever. She really is a wicked, witch

Based on my wifes experience and the way the receptionist spoke to my wife, and the fact that they lost someones glasses. I was on the phone with my wife when she asked the Lady if she could get a copy of her eye sight or prescription the lady went on to inform her that she didnt understand the doctors handwriting that it was too late, and she wanted to go home that she didnt have a lunch break since she started at 9:am So my wife tell her okay I feel bad for you, but can u ask the doctor what he wrote since you didnt understand because she would like a copy of the prescription, But she states the doctor already has someone and she wants to go home, to call on Monday and they would give it to her over the phone. NOW FAST FORWARD TO MONDAY 11/16/2015 my wife calls to find out what is going on and if the insurance accepted the glasses and if there was a RUSH put on the glasses since she really needs the glasses, But the receptionist with an accent is RUDE hangs up on her, and tells her why she waited so long to get a pair of glasses, and then tells her that besides her she has 88 people that came in on Saturday and she cant give her any information. My wife ask for supervisor or office manager and the lady hangs up on her, so now my wife call her insurance and have them call, and they hang up on them. THEY ARE RUDE, AND DISCUSTING. NO ONE SHOULD HAVE TO DEAL WITH PEOPLE LIKE THAT.. ON THE OTHER HAND THE DOCTOR THAT SEEN MY WIFE WAS REALLY NICE, AND WARMING.

The optometrist is REALLY REALLY NICE AND DOES A GREAT JOB, making you feel comfortable and answering your every question you have. BUT I went there because of an emergency my daughter broke my glasses, I went on a Saturday, and in stead of helping me everyone was in there own world. I have a health plan and it seemed like since I was not paying cash they did not want to attend to me. Once I was able to speak to someone I was informed that they need authorization. I also asked for a copy of my eye sight/prescription and the lady that attended me stated that she could not understand the handwriting, so to call Monday and she would give that to me. When I called 11/16/2015 Monday they all acted STUPID and did not know what I was talking about. I also wanted to find out what was the next step for in order for me to get my new glasses which I really need (mind you im BLIND CANT SEE ANYTHING IN FRONT OF ME,,) AND THE FREAKING RECEPTIONIST SAYS "WELL WHY DID YOU WAIT TO GET A NEW PAIR OF GLASSES" O WAIT EXCUSE ME WTF is that about. She is in the customer service field, she should not be asking why or why not, she should just give me an answer or direct me to someone else who could answer my question. I informed her that it was none of her business, but that it was her business to get me my answers.

The reception staff leaves a lot to be desired as far as professionalism and knowledge. I only say this because I called in to get an emergency visit due to my daughter having a minor accident and was told to just come in and that my information couldnt be taken over the phone due to HIPA law. I explained that my daughter was already a patient there and that made no sense because how else would people be able to make appointments? I finally arrive to the office and I give the receptionist my daughters name and they have to go fishing for the file ( which is what I was trying to avoid by calling ahead) so they find the file and a young lady called my daughter and proceeded to do a routine eye exam! No questions to me asking why Im there or anything since it was a walk in. Annoyed the doctor looked at my face and immediately came over and when I explained he completely understood and took so much care and concern with my 8 year old and in the end I was truly pleased! I think that the reception needs to take time on the phone with the patient instead of rushing them off so that they can continue whatever conversations they are having with each other.
