Make no mistake, money is their one and only concern. Took my beloved dog in a few months ago because she had labored breathing. After they ran up an $1100 bill for less than 30 minutes of work, I was told unequivocally she was having congestive heart failure (the doctor on service was visibly disinterested and was eating his breakfast out of a bowl while he did and read the imaging- even though we were the ONLY patients in the place), and I MUST come back a few days later for the cardiologists first available appointment, there was nothing else to save her. Came back for the cardiologist, who looked at the original images and said flatly that my dog did not have any congestive heart issue to cause her symptoms - BUT, since she was a bit older, and may have a small bit of congestion, we should go ahead and sedate her for a full scan (keep in mind she was struggling to breathe at this point). I deferred to his opinion, and she never came back because of the sedation. He wanted to bill for his procedure so they killed my dog, who was so distressed that the anaesthetic they gave her for the unnecessary chest scan killed her.(Didnt stop them from billing for another $2000+ for the harmful and unnecessary procedure). I took her home barely conscious hours later and she died shortly after. HOWEVER, before I took her home they tried to sell me again on a $2600 overnight for monitoring as they had FINALLY had a general internist look at her -yes, they went RIGHT FOR THE HIGH $$ SPECIALISTS - and had done a basic blood test (every vet and doctor I have spoken with since has said this is without question the first thing that should have happened- just too cheap for them to be a first option) and seen abnormalities that were probably causing the main problem, although they said they didnt know the exact cause and nothing could be done but to monitor her at such a ridiculous cost while she continued to decline, because by that time she was so weak from the anaesthetic that she was in severe distress. I didnt want her to die in the small cage in the lab they were holding her in, so I brought her home. It was obvious by then they had done more harm than good (and they unapologetically knew this), but still tried to squeeze as much as they could from me. I lost 3 days of possible life-saving treatment to a knee-jerk, lazy and inadequate initial diagnosis and then their aggressive, money-hungry follow-up robbed me of what could have been at least a last peaceful day together with my dog. Shameful, they should have their licenses revoked. AVOID THEM LIKE THE PLAGUE.

I would like to say that the staff here are top notch. I took my cat Bella here after my vet suspected that she had an obstruction. He advised me to go to the ASPCA in manhattan, but when I called they had no room. When I called BluePearl I was advised that there were surgeons on staff and that I should come right away. I was a mess. When I say mess I mean breaking down crying after every sentence and every couple of minutes. The staff was so kind and supportive. They immediately took x-rays, gave her fluids and assessed the issue. I even told her about this vile black stuff she was vomiting. The wonderful surgeons Ms.Gewien(????) and Mr.Goodwin came and speak with me about the procedure and some of the risks. They are literally the best. God bless them they saved my Bellas life and seemed genuinely concerned. Yes the prices are pricey. And yes I will be paying if off for a while. I opted to apply for care credit and put the rest on my credit card. I will say that I was a little suprised by their low and high price estimate but ultimately I think it works so theirs no surprises. I would recommend this hospital to anyone. And remember to get pet insurance on your pet. I had pet insurance on my cat Walter who has a flair for bitting and chewing things he shouldnt. I always assumed he would put something in his mouth. Bella however never puts random things in her mouth. This time however it so happened that they found out that she ate the eraser from a pencil. First things first when I finish paying off my bill shes going on my HealthyPaws insurance with Walter. And I will be getting PetAssure to get 25% off discounts on vet visits and such. Im so happy that Bella is doing well and going to visit today.

Taking on a pet is to love and care a little expensive but payable, i left home to this place they call an e.r i didnt had no option where to go since this was close to me. I call before going to this place explain what was going on ask how much was going to be 148, i know it would be more then that so i took 300 i wanted to take more but i was in a rush to go save my dear cats life. When i came the lady hit me with the Cpr bill if she stop breathing i forgot how much but for sure was a lot, after that 2000+ 24hr to save her its not an emergency situation if its not pay! Yet still told them i only had 300 came back with a 1000 deal for 12hr. The thing that hurt me was that the dr said i need to hurry up because she is upstairs dieing they basically left her alone with pain meds that didnt work i know because she was still in pain what was the 148 for the dr talk or to really do something. This place shouldnt be there if they are money hungry instead of really trying to save a life, i left that place broken i love her so much and miss her all i saw in this place was pay pay pay and then we will help i have told my friends and social media about this place unless you dont have 5000 they wont help, the only thing i hope was real the lady who said im sorry for your lost, that its not your fault, sometimes its okay to let her go. i wont down without a fight until i see this place close shouldnt call themself a e.r at all. This is my beautiful cat Demi Rosie i never ever hurted her i had her as a gift for my birthday i worked hard to keep her happy and my other 4 cats she left behind a baby boy , older daughter , oldest son and a grandchild and us my family . .

Im torn about this place -- I have been treated nicely by some receptionists and with disdain by others. But the reason for this review is that this is the second time where a request has been mishandled. The first time, I asked for a prescription refill and I asked for the pills to be split, which was agreed to. When I picked up the pills, they were not split so I asked if they could please split them - the receptionist told me that that is not something they typically do. I asked if they could please do it this one time, since they had already agreed to it over the telephone, until the receptionist told me that this was something that was done at the discretion of the doctor. So I asked if she could please ask the doctor to split them. Finally, a vet technician came and grabbed the pills and said of course she could split them, no problem. So basically, if you can make it past the receptionist you may be taken care of. The second time, I called to place a refill for a prescription -- the receptionist put in the order and said shed call back as soon as it was ready. After 2 days of not hearing back I called the office and was told by a different person that she did not know what happened, but no order was placed. She apologized and placed the order. So in the meantime my dog is out of hypertension medicine and I am considering if moving forward I can get this medicine through some other means because Im sure there is a kinder, more reliable provider out there.
