If I could give Dr. Wyler zero stars, I would. I took my parakeet Donald to Trylon Vet Care because the vet Ive been going to for years recommended that I should get a second opinion. Donald was having trouble standing on his feet, and he was very sleepy, but he was eating, drinking and he would have short bursts of energy. I brought Donald in on 9/9//08. Dr. Wyler told me that it could very likely be articular gout, which would explain the white deposits on his feet. He recommended fluid vitamins to give to him orally and a prescription to treat him for gout. He told me he would have to call a pharmacy that would make the medication specially, by grinding a compound into a fine powder and I would have to pick it up at the pharmacy. He told me to leave Donald in the examining room with him and he told me to wait outside while he called the pharmacist. About 5 minutes later the staff in the front gives me a estimate for the day sheet for $115. On it, it had Vitamin Injection, Fluids SQ and a Medical Waste charge. I was very confused because Dr. Wyler didnt talk to me about anything on the sheet. I told the lady at the front counter that I did not want Donald to receive any injections, so she crossed it out and I signed a paper stating that Donald would not receive the vitamin injection. About 10 minutes later, the vets assistant calls me into the examining room and I found Donald in the palm of Dr. Wylers hand taking his last breath. He told me he was about to give him the injection and he started convulsing and had a heart attack. I was in complete shock and I was crying hysterically, I couldnt believe that he went ahead and tried to give him an injection without my permission. He insisted that he was very very sick and that I should leave him to be cremated. I asked him if there would be a charge and he said yes there would be a charge. I found out what fluids SQ meant only a day later (injection under the skin) but Dr. Wyler did not explain this to me at the office, I assumed the fluids were the vitamins that were going to be administered to him orally. Im still completely heartbroken about what happened to him, it was so cruel what he did. I loved Donald so much and I wasnt expecting this to happen to him. I put my faith in trust in Dr. Wyler and I got nothing but heartache. When I left the room he was fine, he was jumping up and down in his traveling case trying to get out. I was only waiting for a prescription and vitamins and I only left him there to keep him warm. I am completely outraged and heartbroken from what this vet did to me and I would never recommended him to anyone!!!! I would never want anyone to experience the pain I carry with me everyday.

I am actually in the processes of looking for another Vet. I was recommended this Vet by a friend. I liked him in the beginning. Felt like he really cared about my dog. I didnt care that I had to pay a lot of money and was working hard to try to pay good service. I am a student and dont make that much to begin with. As time went on... my dog was diagnosed with diabetes. So many tests were conducted and I wasted 1,000 in a course of one month. After he diagnosed my dog... he gave me a few pamphlets to read. Didnt give me a run down as to why it was important to buy prescribe medicated food...or why it as important to see an eye doctor or any thing of the sort. Fast forward 6 months later. My dog becomes blind one day to the next. I take him to the eye doctor and come to hear he has cataracts. Which could have been prevented with monitoring. My dogs eyes became worse in the time frame of 3 weeks. My dogs right eye has an ulcer now and will never be unable to see from that eye again. If he would have told me to go see an eye doctor from the beginning...this could have been prevented. My dog will be undergoing surgery next week to help save his left eye to see. Regarding this vet center, I never wanted to believe this place was after my money. I really believed they cared about my dog. Until last week when I went to go do a urine test and the visit cost me 300. My mother was right about this place... and now I am in the process of searching for a new vet for my dog. Someone that really gives a crap about my baby. If anyone knows of any good vet in Queens, please let me know. I wish I would have listened to my mother about this place.

I decided to bring my dog here after a recommendation from a friend. The place was just ok. Dr. Andrino was recommended as the specific vet to see. I brought Skipper here and for our first appointment multiple labs and scans were recommended. We were only here for an initial visit; she was not having any problem of any kind. Her annual was due and that is all that needed to be done. I did some "additional" lab testing and those labs were inconclusive of "something" and we were to do more labs. I never followed through with more additional labs. 6-7 months pass and Skipper has her annual allergies. I try again and again to make an EMERGENCY appointment with them because my dog is jumping out of her skin with allergies. It kills me to see my dog in such stress because of her seasonal allergies; all she needed was an allergy shot. Again and again I am denied barbecue there are no appointments available. Long story short these people are NOT my vet anymore. If they cant help me when I need them then they cant help me when I dont. I did call All-Care Animal Hospital and they were glad to see her. All-Care was where I had previously been taking Skipper. All-Care had a receptionist that is as "snippy and horrible" as Trylon. The only reason I was looking for another vet was because of the receptionist! Businesses wake up! If the people answering your phones arent nice, customers will look elsewhere. Thankfully, the receptionist is no longer at All-Care, so we went back. I would recommend All-Care. We see Dr. Patel and he is a kind man who will care for your animal when you need a vet.

I love Trylon Vet Care. They are all wonderful. Every time Ive ever had a problem Ive received top notch service. To those people who have made disparaging remarks about how "greedy" they are or how "nasty" the receptionist is, thats something Ive NEVER experienced. My husband and I have been bringing our 2 kitties there for the past 5 years. Our older boy has urinary issues that are specific to his breed. Tests are necessary people! Vaccinations are necessary too! If youre not willing to spend money when necessary then you probably shouldnt have pets. Were not rich people, but the vets and staff there have always tried to be accommodating to our needs and finances. As for the lady complaining about not being seen in emergency situation I call bs. Ive never ever been turned away in an emergency situation. The only time I havent been seen is if they arent open, and you can still leave a voicemail and a vet will call you back within 20 minutes. Im so thankful to live near and be a patron of such an outstanding veterinarian hospital. Thank you Dr. Andino and the wonderful staff at Trylon. Nacho & Dudley are so happy and lucky to have such amazing and compassionate individuals that care for their well being.
