i had trouble since i first mad that phone call to schedule a new patient appt. receptionist very rude. she had said i had to select dr. w/my ins before i can sched appt. which was done and understable for billing purposes, but she could of schedule the appt in the meantime instead of waiting for ins company to change Dr.s. i decided to go there because he is a pediatric dentist. my daughter had her visit but she wasnt cooperating so we had to reschedule. then it came time for my appt. i have worked for a dentist office before and the prev dentist i had gone too all sched first time pts with a cleaning exam and xrays standard procedure. I was given a hard time abt my xrays the receptionist said if i don"t get them then we have to reschedule w/o even letting me talk. i told her i have them and will bring them with me. day before asked me to come in 15 min earlier. my appt was at 4:45 i got there at 4:05 . filled out form that took 2 min not even called me in right away thinking great. i happen to ask the lady who brought me in if she was doing my cleaning she responded "no you are not getting a cleaning done today. i was very frustrated and annoyed b/c i missed an hour of work to get to the appt on time. spoke to the manger and all she gave me was a nasty face and told me i was not getting a cleaning done. they did not explain to me their policy and procedures. instead of accommodating me like any office would she had me walk out frustrated and annoyed. she did not question her staff or try and even get me in the nxt day or have my cleaning that same day. i will be contacting my insurance and see how many other complaints they have gotten. staff is terrible you do not treat new patients this way. had to click on a star to post dont deserve one at all

I would not recommend these dentists to anyone i cared about, i went in to have fillings done and they decided to do my less important fillings first, tell me they were only going to do so many today, and that I had to come in again to get the rest of them done. This isnt even accounting for the fact that they didnt give the Novocaine time to kick in and started working on my teeth right away and were shocked when i was still in pain. Their response to my pain was to give me more Novocaine which only accomplished making my heart race. I acted like I wasnt in pain until the Novocaine did kick in to prevent them from just shooting me up more. They then proceeded to be exceptionally difficult with the build up of water and saliva in my mouth and complained that whenever I didnt have their fingers and tools in my mouth I had my mouth shut trying to get everything out so I didnt start coughing. To wrap everything up they neglected to tell me which fillings they were going to do ahead of time and completely skipped over the ones I told them ahead of time gave me pain when I ate sweets. If i could leave a review without giving any stars I would but until this is implemented I am obligated to give them 1 star to warn everyone else to stay away.

If I could give this place a negative star, I would. I have never had worst customer service in my life. First, I have been going here since a child and the receptionists at the desk have always been VERY rude. I dont care if youre having a bad day or dont want to be there, its your job to be friendly to people and make them feel welcomed. I didnt make it to an appointment because of work and college, and the receptionist ripped my head off and told me she wouldnt release my records because I skipped my appointment. You can not withhold someones records FYI, and I would have taken legal action but I chose not to go through that.Second, I love the dental hygienists especially Denise, they are all really nice. Dr. Shapiro on the other end is not thorough whatsoever and ignores me AND my family if we are in pain. He is always in a rush and considering my cavity was filled 3 times just goes to show he is not doing his job correctly. Stop being lazy, its your job. I will not continue to be a patient at this practice and am looking forward to a new dentist.

The dental hygienists at Middletown Dental Group are excellent and the dentists do a thorough job examining the teeth and mouth as well. I have had the pleasure of having Erin as my hygienist twice and had an outstanding experience both times - and I generally would rather have a kidney removed than go to the dentist. My fiancée had Denise as her hygienist and she was excellent as well. The negative reviews I have read seem ludicrous to me as I have tried three different dentists in Middletown and Middletown Dental Group is absolutely my favorite. If youre looking for a comfortable, thorough dental experience, please call the bilingual receptionist, Liz, and she will set you up with an appointment within a month. Ive only written two reviews and this is the second - please give Middletown Medical Group a try if you are unhappy with your current dentist or are new to the area and searching for a dentist, they accept almost all insurances and you will have a pleasant experience. I see why this place has a 2.6 rating. The employees at the front desk seem like they have attitudes. I need work done on my teeth and they expect me to pay out of pocket for a damn root canal! I called the doctor today, MONTHS LATER.... This is an emergency. Ive needed this procedure for 6 months now. Its Sunday, so I call the emergency hotline to see if I can get this procedure done today. The doctor calls back with an attitude and tells me that their office is closed... I KNOW THAT! WHY DO YOU THINK I CALLED THE EMERGENCY LINE! I go elsewhere and my insurance covers the whole procedure. Plus I had a filling done at Middletown Dental and they cut my damn tooth shorter than the rest. There is a big difference in the length. Im done with this place. It sucks. Go to Aspen Dental.

Very poor customer service from receptionist. They are poor dental care. You wait hours at a time for your appointment. My husband needed work done on his teeth and instead of fixing the big problems they used all our insurance money on little problems and we were left to spend our own money to fix the real problems.
