My husb and I have 2 dogs and have been going to New Rochelle Animal Hospital for the past 6 years, (about 1/2 of their lives) b/c we moved to the New Rochelle area.. Now, we live out of the area. Still make the trip for our dogs to visit with Dr. Schwartzreich and sometimes Dr. Doherty for our cubs- Both docs are above average in my opinion. We originally switched to New Rochelle Animal Hospital because we moved a few blocks from their practice and our old Veterinarian had also moved further away into white plains- though it doesnt seem far, one of our dogs needs constant medical attention and we needed to find a closer Veterinary Practice. Someone in our building recommended us to try New Rochelle Animal Hospital, so we bit the bullet and made an appointment. We regularly saw Dr. Ueada, or Dr. "U," and at the time really liked her, but the business was sold and with that, switched to the new doctor/owner. To be honest I was skeptical about starting over with a new vet, but after the new Doc, Dr. schwartzreich, took over, we saw a difference in everything and everyone. The staff are all sweet & accommodating from the front end people to the vet techs assisting the doctors. They dont keep us waiting forever. They always remember my cubs and their names. They always do everything they can to make my dogs feels at ease. Everyone always remembers my one dog cant have treats because of his allergies (no one and no practice, including his old vet who diagnosed him, remembered that he is allergic to almost everything, but the docs and staff there seem to always just know and voice they wish they could give him a treat). The techs have brought water without me even asking after they noticed Winston had very labored breathing a few times. Dr.s Schwartzreich & Doherty are both brilliant, seem very experienced, thorough and caring. Their facility itself isnt brand-new, but the equipment is modern and its always very sterile inside. The implements are certainly new and/or sterilized. Depending what, certain items are disposed of immediately after use. The doctors know & use different and modern techniques, some that have been life saving and changing when one of my dogs had "a paw in the grave." I always tell people how Dr. Schwartzreich & staff saved Winstons life & came out healthier and a diff dog! For example, before changing ownership, I needed an emergency visit because one my one of my dogs was urinating blood, since Dr. "U" wasnt in that day, the old man vet, who used to own the practice prior to the Doctors currently there now, had to be the one to examine my dog. We had to hold him down for the exam and to get samples (he was 96lbs). My dog normally allowed any and all handling. Well, since it took three of us, including myself, to hold him down I could clearly see that the previous owner/veterinarian actually re-used an old, huge, stained catheter! He put it back inside the cabinet! I asked him about it and he spoke gibberish and left the room for a long time. Traumatized, my dogs never been the same since when going to the vet. Recently, he became calmer and doesnt shake like he used to since that experience. He is slowly coming around even though its taken some time and cooperates with Dr. Schwartzreich & the all of employees there. When you have an "Old English Bulldog" breed, they can tend to have many allergies both environmental & internal, plus because of their face folds needing maintenance, tail & ears needing regular cleaning and because of their giant paws, they require constant special cleansers, rinses, drops, ointments, creams and Im sure I am leaving something out. The prices for meds and visits are reasonably affordable. I recommend you go there. If my dogs, with all of their ailments can do well there, yours can too!

Tyga and I met Dr P. about 3 months ago when I noticed he was breathing funny. I didnt have a vet for Tyga so I went to Google and found the Animal Veterinary Associates of New Rochelle. After reading the reviews I felt comfortable enough to call and they ask that I bring Tyga in the next day. When we arrived we didnt wait long before we saw the doctor. Dr. P became extremely concerned regarding his breathing and immediately gave him oxygen and took x-rays to find the problem. He told me that my cat required further care as he may have a heart condition. An Echocardiogram proved my cat had a severe case of Cardio Myopothy. After his diagnosis he lived for about 2 months on medication. Dr. P. followed us every step of the way and even called us to check in on Tyga. He became sicker and I had to let him go to Cat Heaven. We received a call from the doctor and a beautiful card expressing kind thoughts. I would return to the New Rochelle Animal Veterinarian Associates for my next pet. Dr. P, and his crew are the Best.

New Rochelle animal hospital is great. Dr Paul Schwartzreich is a great Dr. I have to say I am very happy I brought my dog (Izzy) there. He is very caring, understanding and compassionate. You can tell he loves animals. I feel very confident recommending him to my family and friends. The staff there is also great. Everyone there is happy to help felt like family. If your looking for a vet this is the best choice you can make if you love animals like I do. Thank you so much Dr Paul

Excellent experience at the hospital and kennel. Dr. Schwartzreich is the new veterinarian and he is absolutely wonderful. Was in this week for our dogs annual exam and our 2-year-old dog who is very hyper and nervous did really well. Dr. Schwartzreich and staff took turns comforting him throughout the exam and really explained the shots and new tick prevention options. All the staff was so friendly and accommodating. And the prices were super fair!

I loved dr.leed. he retired. The new doctors arent bad they took care of my nikki when she had to be put down. Dissapointed with the clay paw print it was barely viable. I thought they would bake the print for us. I almost got scared the paw print wouldve gotten squished by the time we got it home.

Do not bring your pet there. My cat died due to negligence of being fed the wrong food and went through a procedure she didnt have to go through. Bring your pets elsewhere if you care

I just moved here, needed a new vet, and wanted a female veterinarian. New Roc fit the bill.
