Ive used Dr.Miller as my cats doctor for 28 years. I adore him and Dr. Hillchuck. (Ive only used Dr. Weisman once in an emergency and she was very thourough and mindful. She was also right on the money with her diagnosis and treatment.) The doctors are very knowledgeable - in fact, Dr. Miller and Dr. Hillchuck are both brilliant and perfectionists, as well as caring. The staff is also that way. They have very flexible appointment hours, and even opened one time when they were closed when I had an emergency. Most recently, they gave my 17 years old plus cat at least 10 extra suffering free months when she stopped eating. They are so loving with the animals; my cats never fuss under their care. Ive read the reviews and was surprised to see a comment about overmedicating - theyve never done that with my animals. In fact, theyve always provided helpful medicine, but have perscribed as little as possible. Dr. Miller hates to overdrug my cats. The prices are typical for the upper east side, but theyve been very generous with follow-up appointments, etc. The staff, Renee, Molly, Nick, Shannon...adore animals and are always excited to see them and play with them. When a breeder I bought a kitten from insisted on a particular food with which they were unfamiliar, Renee researched it and evaluated it for me. They even keep a frequently updated list of "best" foods. Theyve come out to the car to take in my animals when I couldnt find parking. If you have an emergency after hours, they return my calls really quickly. When Ive had my cats neutered, the incisions have healed quickly and seamlessly. I havent used any other vet for 28 years, so its hard to compare, but they blow away the three others I used before I found them. When I struggled to give a pill to one of my cats, I was able to pay them very reasonably to come to the house after work and reteach me. In short, their expertise is unmatched, as is their willingness to go beyond the call of duty.

I have used Carnegie Hill Vets for many years. They have cared carefully and thoughtfully for all my cats, two of which lived to an advanced age, and when the time came for my pets to end their suffering, both they and I were treated with the utmost compassion (I think Dr. Miller loved my Bengal almost as much as I did, and it was hard for him to tell me to let him go, but we agreed it was the kindest thing to do at that point). I have always trusted Drs. Miller and Hilchuck to think through each ailment step by step--never doing anything excessive until they identified the problem, then giving me all the options I needed to proceed. Additionally, they take the time to establish a "rapport" with my cats when I bring them in--petting them, talking to them, etc. Now that they have moved into a larger space, visiting is a breeze and the staff is knowledgeable and helpful. I have been 100% satisfied with the care my pets and I have received from Carnegie Hill.

Dr. Weissman was incredibly cold and unprofessional when I encountered her. She insisted on muzzling my dog (who is not aggressive but simply wiggly). I told her he would be calmer if I held him and she overruled me; while the techs did their best, my dog was clearly distressed (heavy panting, excessive drooling, crying very loudly). When I told her he was scared of metal tables and would be better handled on the ground, again I was ignored and, due to careless handling, he almost hung himself trying to get off of their metal table. And all of that is without mentioning that, due to the incredible stress he was put through, my dog broke his own tooth while wearing the muzzle, which cost me over $800 to repair. I wont ever go back to this practice. I wish I could give it lower than 1 star.

Dr. Brenda Weissman, Dr. Miller, and staff have been extremely attentive and thorough in helping us with our new Golden Retriever puppy and our 5 year-old Havanese. Last week, I had an emergency. Our Havenese was covered with ticks from running around in the woods. I called them panicked and Dr. Weissman saw our Havanese immediately, without an appointment, picked off about 30 ticks with the help of her gentle and caring assistant. They then gave her a "tick bath" and treated her appropriately. I was amazed and very happy with the care and attention given with such short notice. I highly recommned their practice. Dr. Weissman is very good and the staff could not have been more helpful

My dog has seen both Dr. Miller and Dr. Hilchuk. Both doctors are incredibly knowledgeable and talented. Dr. Miller is very honest and will openly tell you when something is a "waste of money." He is also more reserved when suggesting treatments for your pet. Dr. Hilchuk may seem a bit more aggressive in treating pets but she is very well informed and likes to get ahead of potential health issues. The dynamic of these two doctors works very well for me. They confer with one another and find the best treatments and health plan for your pet. My dog had to have surgery to remove a cancerous tumor and Dr. Hilchuk did an incredible job. I highly recommend the Carnegie Hill Veterinarians for your pet!

I am very, very happy with Carnegie Hill Vets. Dr. Miller is wonderful, very conscientious and thorough. My Pekingese had a tumor on her paw that needed to be surgically removed. It was caught early and dr miller made sure to get her in for surgery very quickly. He made sure we came in to change her bandages every couple of days and always checked up on her when his vet tech changed her bandages. His staff is also very good and competent. I am extremely comfortable with the service and support both my dog and I receive. I would highly recommend this veterinary practice. The whole staff is very professional and efficient.

Ive been taking my puppy to Carnegie Hill for the past 3 months and each time has been a pleasant experience. Dr. Karla Kovach and the staff has been nothing but patient with my crazy puppy since he tends to freakout at the vets. Location is very convenient as it is only 1 block away from either the 6 train or Q train and theres a pet store right next door for any last minute pet supplies you may need. Overall, Im very satisfied with my experience here, the doctors and staff are all courteous and professional. Ill continue to visit and recommend people in the neighborhood to stop by and give them a chance.

I cannot thank Dr Miller has his team enough for the excellent care they have provided my cats, Peter and Henry, over the years. Henry, my Maine Coon cat, has had medical issues since he was a kitten. Dr Miller has literally saved Henrys life several times. From a horribly infected paw that could have cost Henry his leg, a broken hip, to pancreatitis and a feeding tube to jaundice and liver disease, Dr Miller and Carenegie Hill have coaxed Henry back to health - even though Henry channels his inner lion and tries to eat them. I highly recommend Carnegie Hills Vets!
