I visited Dr John Abroon on Apr , 2016. He is the worst Doctor I ever see in the United States. 1. When I requested several prescription for him during the visit, he only issued half the prescription , and mentioned if I need the other half, I need to visit him again. By doing this, he just want to earn the Doctors fee one more time. In addition, the prescription he gave has no refills ! The reason is obvious, how greedy he is ! 2. My insurance company denied the claim .Then the insurance company ask the medical record from me. I requested the medical record from Doctor John Abroon office from June. I have waited one more month already so far, but have not got my medical record yet. You can imagine how ridiculous this is ! In all, I am very very upset for the services Dr John Abroon delivered. I thought the Doctors in the upper east side in Manhattan should be excellent since many rich people in New York City live here. After I visited Dr John Abroon office, I was totally shocked by his strategies in earning extra money and his arrogant attitude toward me. Using one word to describe: Terrible ! Written by Xiaoyao Ma, on July 27 Morning , 2016 To keep things updated on time :: Note, from yesterday, July27, 2016, to my surprise, soon after the assistant Rachel saw my google reviews, her attitude changes very quickly, she begin to talk to me friendly and politely over the phone after seeing the review. On Aug 8, 2016. I talked to another secretary Sharon in his office. Her attitude is rude !!! She said the Doctor do not offer electronic version of medical record and there is no letterhead letters in this office for medical record. This is very absurd! The hand-written note in his office can not be reviewed by the insurance company because it is very poorly written by Dr Abroon. My medical claim was denied by in insurance company. On Aug 9, 2016. I talked to Rachel about the Pharmacy can not issue the medicine that Dr Abroon gave me. She try her best to solve the issue by calling the Pharmacy and talk to me pretty nicely. I appreciate her great attitude. After 5 minutes later, she told me that she prefect solved the issue by calling the Pharmacy. Very efficient this time. I am impressed by her good attitude, ability and performance !!! Worth to mention, the other staff (Sharon), the Pharmacist call her twice from last week to yesterday, she said she leave a message to the doctor and done nothing . Clearly when I speak to Rachel, this issue can be perfectly solved in 5 minute when she talk to the Pharmacy directly over the phone. Tips, you must speak to the right person, then your issue can be done otherwise you have to wait for a long time !!! In this case , we can clearly see the different performance between two staff in Dr Abroon office !!! Update: On Aug 30, Rachel becomes a very competent staff now !!! Today I discussed with her that my insurance finally issued a check(approved my claim) to the biller, and discussed the total amount Dr John Abroon office will refund to me since I have paid the Doctor fee in full (225 dollars) in the beginning of Aug. To my surprise, Rachel quickly talked to the Biller and double checked the amount of refund is correct (230 dollars since 5 dollar difference for the copay , and gave me a call back in next 20 minutes. I appreciate her excellent work attitude !!!

Sept 2010 - Was 5 stars - Dr. Abroon was recommended by a friend when I moved to NY. I have been his patient for over 3 years. He is a wonderful doctor, is very kind and thorough. He will never hesitate to get the extra medical test when I am concerned about something. I never have a problem to get an appointment, or referral - Rebecca in his office was a gem - lets move to May 2016 - This review is now MINUS ZERO star - I am leaving his office after 5 years because he does not return calls! takes personal calls about his mother on MY time in exam room and he has the most incompetent staff who does not return calls, does not answer emails. So, D-O-N-E! I liked him until a few months ago when his staff sent a bill to a previous apartment and billed wrong insurance. Out of concern, I called (never returned calls), wrote a note with proper insurance info and address which they had. Got a call after about a month later. I had a visit a few weeks ago and received medication samples that had expired, called Dr. Abroon day after on 5/10 and to this day, never got a call back. Staff does not call or answer emails. When I asked staff why Dr. does not return calls, I was told "he is busy" - Total incompetency to the maxxxx (Sharon and Rachel) ! STAY AWAY!

In an age where patients are numbers, you rarely find a doctor with pacience. Dr. Abroon is a true gentleman. His office is reminiscent of the way things used to be. Rather than having a person in scrubs who makes you sign in and wait your turn, you are greated by name by a professional front desk manager. The waiting room is nicely appointed with classic furniture and a modern abstact Marilyn Monroe painting. I have never had to wait a long time for my appointment, as a matter of fact they saw me early last time. I have seen Dr. Abroon three times. Last time when I walked into the office he said casually, "Hi Jay" before he even looked at my chart. There is never a rush. He stands back, listens, ponders, and delivers relevant and useful suggestions with a calm demeanor. His advice is sound and I have confidence that his well rounded experience and perspective will serve me well over the years.

This is Janet Wilkinson. Susan LeFevre and I are a married couple so we share the same Google account. Now that we have that all clear, I want to say that I have had many great doctors. My internist retired about three years ago. Another Mount Sinai doctor of mine referred me to Dr. Abroon. I am seeing him now for three years and I adore him. I love how comfortable he makes me feel and how relaxed he is about pretty much everything! Most importantly - its the trust that he exudes and for that alone, he has my full confidence! I am a patient of Dr.John Abroon since 1997, and with the good care Im getting from him, I will be around for a few more years. Before retiring from my Business, I would go to his office for a check up and blood works, with a feeling of anxiety and raised blood pressure, not knowing what to anticipate. Not anymore........ I am now 81 years old and with the proper care and medication prescribed by Dr. Abroon, Im still walking close to Five miles a day, from home to Central Park an back. Thank you Dr.John Abroon.

I have been a patient of Dr Abroon for many years. He is doctor with so much knowledge for his field. He is a very caring doctor to his patients and only wants the best for them and to help them with their medical issues. He also makes my visits welcoming and fun when I feel off and not well. Rachel and the rest of his staff are so knowledgeable and run Dr Abroons practice efficiently. I would highly recommend Dr Abroon as a GP who will understand your medical needs.
