I have had 3 dogs in my short life so far And because of this as Well as the period of time its been over, I have been to about 6-8 different veterinary offices and in the process meeting almost as many veterinarians. This place I will forever return to! The staff and the overall attitude of the staff made me and my Beagle feel very welcome. The young lady that treated our Beagle GENUINELY loves helping animals and it shows through and through in the quality and attentiveness she showed our Beagle girl. Also they give a discount for first timers at their office! 10/10

Compassion vet is the best! Weve been going here for 10+ years. My small chihuahua has been extremely sick on and off for the past 3 years and Dr. Schwartz has been so attentive to her. He always calls to check up on her and allows me to call him at any hour even if he is on vacation just to help with my dog! They also have same day appointments so if something comes up they let me bring my dog over within the hour to check her. I highly recommend this vet to anyone in the area!! They are truly compassionate to all theyre patients!

I have had two bad experiences with this vet and I have not even gotten a visit. Both times I had to deal with a rude receptionist who was very unhelpful. She told me to call the animal poison control hotline since I was not in the system when I had a dog health question. They hotline costs $65 per phone call for a simple question! Instead I called Dutchess County Animal Hospital and they answered my question right away. If you need a vet, do not go here. They are condescending and unhelpful.

Dedicated, experienced, and trustworthy. Has been my familys vet for over 30 years. Most recently performed surgery on my 5 year old huskys right cheek ( to remove a cyst). The care he received was excellent, and the employees and technicians were all very friendly and supportive. Six months later you would never be able to tell anything ever happened. If your pet needs surgery, or even just regular care, use someone who has real hands on experience.

This is a superb...no, EXCELLENT practice! Our cats receive wonderfully professional veterinary care and when we travel, they have terrific boarding facilities. Add that they are centrally located in Poughkeepsie in a lovely setting, with a caring staff, and you CANNOT go wrong. Thank you, Compassionate Care! (Buster, KrisKash and Buttercup agree also!!)
