Ill keep it short. My wife went to Elmwood Dental for some routine dental care. We paid all fees up front, calling the office in advance more than once with insurance information and stating our desire to ensure that the whole cost would be paid up front. I have very common insurance, through the largest public school policy in the area. We were assured both on the phone and at the front desk upon check-in that all was taken care of. I got a bill just now for $56.60 Calling the office to inquire, I was sent to "insurance specialist" (their words, not mine) Sandy Nasky, who proceeded to tell me that the insurance is variable, that they are unpredictable as to what they will cover and what they wont, and then proceeded to very pointedly accuse me of negligence in not having every number of my insurance policy committed to memory. She then laughed at me over the phone. My wife asked to talk to her, and she was completely unapologetic and downright nasty to her as well. She then hung up on my wife. Do NOT use Elmwood Dental in Rochester NY unless you want to be laughed at by Sandy Nasky on the phone some months later.

I came from Poland hoping for new beautiful teeth. English is very primitive but I will try my best to present my opinion. After a year of torture and spending money, I received teeth in which I am embarrassed to show people, I can not normally eat, I started to seplenic and feel continuous pain (I need to take 3000 mg of ibuprofen daily to be able to function normally, disappears). The biggest medical specialists in my country (professors and honoris causa) are quoted as saying: "They are surprised at how badly the bite can be destroyed in this way. I have to replace my teeth immediately before their setting will lead to total dysfunction of the rump. These are not my words, only the opinion of experts in the field of maxillofacial surgery and dentistry. I feel it on my own skin, every minute of my life. I wish I had been to Dr. Frank junior LaMar. I lost money, health and a year of my life. I lost the ability to function normally in society. Such effects can be expected at Elmwood Dental Group at Dr. Frank junior LaMar. I do not recommend anyone.

Both my daughter and I have gone here for years. Ive always been happy with the service, but am even happier with the service my daughter receives. They allowed her to watch my cleaning months before she was ready for her own so she could get used to the process. Now she LOVES going! She looks forward to the little samples of toothpaste and floss - and the little toys dont hurt. She did have to have a filling, and afterwards they gave her pictures to color and several little toys and the procedure went flawlessly. They made sure to find her pain tolerance and adjusted her medication appropriately, and even had her laughing after! I WOULD NOT GO ANYWHERE ELSE IF YOU HAVE YOUNG CHILDREN! They make her feel like a "big girl" every time and now she doesnt even need me to go back with her she feels so secure.

My husband and I have been going to Elmwood Dental since we moved to Rochester many years ago. We have seen both Dr. Frank and Dr. Jim, and we have been nothing but pleased with the care we have received. Once, I chipped my front lower tooth, and I was walking around like Willie Nelson. I was so embarrassed! But the friendly staff got me an appointment quickly and Dr. Frank bonded my lower teeth. Then -- amazingly -- he "pshawed" me when it came time for billing, saying that it was such a minor repair. Just recently, we started thinking it is time for our son to join the rest of us at Elmwood Dental. At age 12, he really doesnt need a pediatric dentist anymore. Then we could get our cleanings done at the same time, which would be a huge time saver for this mom. Sincerely, RASJ

I have always been terrified of dentists and anything having to do with dental procedures. That has made it very difficult to find someone confident, skilled and understanding. Dr. Chris and the staff are always phenomenal. Michelle has always been patient and fun - even when dealing with my fears. Their caring, empathy, wisdom and encouragement make the experience less stressful. They always show compassion and interest. Ive been a patient of Dr. Chris since he came to town; and now he is the dentist for my entire family. His caring and understanding helped me to decide to have adult braces. What a difference one person can make!

I had the complete, upper and lower, hybridge process done and all I can say is WOW!! Dr.s Frank,Jim and Kahn are truly a cut above any dentists Ive used in the past. The support staff was friendly, funny and very empathetic during the entire process. Everyone encouraged me to call at anytime during the process if I had questions. When I did call the response was fast,friendly and reassuring. I recommend this group, in this office, very highly. The highest rating of 10 is too low. 10++++++++++++ I can now chew properly and my confidence in my smile is now back and today is only my first day with my new teeth.

Good dental work, but horrible billing! They were NOT honest that my Aetna Vital Savings plan would not be accepted, and somehow they assumed that I had Aetna insurance. I am a graduate student, so I cannot afford Aetna insurance and told that to them clearly. They also gave me a dentist out-of-the-network, who I did not even know was not accepting new patients under Aetna Vital Savings plan. I am overcharged by hundreds of dollars, and I cannot believe that I paid $575 for deep cleaning, periodontal deep scaling! *Reimbursement received! The staff members need to be retrained.

I went to Elmwood Dental hoping that they could help improve my smile with Hybridge implants. It has been less than a year and I have beautiful teeth (and no pain). The results have been fantastic! I look much better and feel more confident. All of the staff have been really great. The doctors really know their stuff. They clearly take pride in their work and care how the patient feels. I have never been a fan of going to the dentist. Theyve really changed that for me. I would recommend this team to anyone that wants excellent care and a great outcome.

The 16 year old daughter had her two lower impacted wisdom teeth removed and it was a breeze. It felt as though the full staff was there for her comfort and well being. She was taken at the scheduled time, a huge hep to a working Mom, and follow up was thorough and caring. Our usual dental care is always well done but I was so relieved that this wasnt an ordeal. My daughter had never even had a cavity filled before so it meant so much to me to have them care for her so well during a more elaborate procedure.

Id avoided seeing a dentist for a couple years and was welcomed with open arms. The entire staff understood my hesitation and made a concerted effort to provide me the best possible care, with a big ol smile. My consultation included X-rays and a thorough oral exam, which was performed and reviewed by my dentist, Dr. Melissa Baleno. The hygienist got my teeth back to sparking again, and for the first time in a long time, I didnt feel like holding back my smile. So glad to have found my new dental team.
