I called Atlantic Dental Group to schedule a biannual cleaning and to discuss removing my wisdom teeth, as a new patient. I explained that I was a student and work, therefore I wished to schedule both at once and asap. Over the phone I was told that my insurance would be accepted and if I faxed over my x-rays, they could handle wisdom teeth consultations. When I came in for my appointment the receptionist informed me that the consultation would cost $115 out of pocket for a limited oral evaluation and a periapical single, first service (a film that was already faxed from my dentist). She also informed me that my biannual cleaning would have to be scheduled for a separate appointed (I was NOT told this over the phone). After explaining that I am a college student and would be paying for any dental procedures, I asked to cancel the appointment. In the most condescending manner, the receptionist told me that was not an option and that I would be charged $50. I explained that I was NOT informed that I would have to pay out of pocket and was explicit about finding a dentist who would accept my insurance upfront. The receptionist told me to hold on and she disappeared to verify my insurance. Upon returning she told me this was all a "misunderstanding" and that I would not have to pay out of pocket. When I asked if my insurance would be taken upfront for all other procedures she responded that she could not answer and I would have to speak to someone in the back (hence after committing to keeping the appointment and paying). When I spoke to the dentist, she reviewed my X-rays that had been faxed and restated what I had already explained on the phone: "Your wisdom teeth need to be extracted". It was a ten minute appointment where no additional X-rays were taken and my insurance was billed for $83 for a limited oral evaluation. Needless to say, I will not be returning to Atlantic Dental Group.

If I could give it 6 stars, I would. My previous dentist gave me 2 poor fillings, which resulted in massive problems. Dr. Barry Frazelle and his team really saved the day. Unfortunately, I had to get 2 crowns, and I was scared because of my previous dentist, and never having to get crowns before. Dr. Frazelle saved the day, got me through the process, and took extremely good care of me. He has a steady hand and is always checking in to make sure that youre comfortable and letting you know how things are going. He even gave me great tips on how to save money and still get quality dental care on a budget, when I had a lapse in dental insurance. Dr. Frazelle and his team there were fantastic before, during, and after the experience. Theres also a great view of a small lake/pond outside, which is very relaxing for people like me that are nervous in the dental chair. Hes the best dentist Ive ever had anywhere, let alone Wilmington, and I wish Id been able to have him and his awesome staff my entire life. Sandy and Wendy have been great to me as well. I even got nice follow up calls to make sure I was doing okay after my procedures. If youre in Wilmington and need dental work, do yourself a favor and check them out!

I cannot begin to describe how inconsiderate, thoughtless, unprofessional, and rude these people are. I scheduled an appointment 90 days out as it was the earliest they could see me. Over that 90 days they excessively texted, called, and left voice mails like some creepy stalker confirming that appointment. On the 89th day they called again confirming that same appointment. On that fateful 90th day I take off work show up at there office early, and am nonchalantly told that the dentist I was scheduled with is out today, and then asked me to reschedule. ARE YOU SERIOUS?! The people who keep this joke of dentistry in business must have 0 self respect for themselves. My time is extremely valuable to me and Im sure there are other dentist in this city who arent so full of themselves that they feel people need to bend their lives according to the dentist schedule.

I honestly have not had a personal experience with this dental office. However, I just had to give a shout out to how good… No, how GREAT these people are and I just wanted to say thank yall SO MUCH for taking care of my son. My son was involved in a bike accident and two of his front teeth got shoved up into his gums. My son said they were so gentle in performing the work and removing those teeth and the teeth that they made for him - I have to say they look better than my husbands false teeth. LOL So, thank you Atlantic Dental!! May the Lord bless and shine favor on your business continually. Come next year, I know exactly where Im going to get my implants done!! I can never say thank you enough for all you did for my son!!!❤️❤️❤️

I lost a filling and it took over a month for me to save the money to have it fixed. I called and was given an appointment within 4-5 days--a good response time. Dr. Lee was efficient and filled the tooth, taking pains to make sure that I would not have any additional pain as my nerve was starting to be exposed. I felt that the emergency filling was well done. I was, however, dissapointed that little follow-up was sought. I expressed a wish to set another appointment for future care, but received no encouragement other than see the person at the desk. Just wanted a little more concern and encouragement. I may not be wealthy and my teeth certainly arent perfect, but I care. Would love to know that my dentist cares about my teeth, too.

Normally Id not think of writing a review of a company but the Atlantic Dental Group is such an exception from my normal experiences, I feel a few comments are due. All the dentists, hygienists & office personnel Ive met there are exceptional both in their professional and personal actions. They are very friendly and committed to making my experience as painless and stress free as possible. This is important to me as Ive lived more than a few decades of dreading visits to the dentist and was shocked to discover I actually look forward to visits with Dr. Lee and his associates. I know Im in capable, caring hands when Im there and if I ever have to move from Wilmington, I will probably try and talk them into coming with me !

My schedule is always hectic and the office staff is always accommodating if I need to reschedule. Ive had a few different hygienists and Ive been completely satisfied with all of them- each one has been professional and made sure they didnt do anything that hurt in any way, which is surprisingly difficult to find in some dental practices! I also appreciate Dr Frazelles "bedside" manner, he is always happy to see you, kind, and light hearted! And even if there is something going on that requires further treatment he makes you feel very confident it will be taken care of timely and efficiently. All around a great practice!

Im not one who is fond of going to the dentist but if I have to go, this is an excellent choice. Dr. Pless and her staff are all caring individuals who go out of their way to make sure youre comfortable and as relaxed as possible under the circumstances. They address any fears or concerns you might have and do their best to compensate for them. Having spent a lot of time in waiting rooms, I always bring a book but I rarely have any time to read it. Im called in almost as soon as I arrive. As dentists go, this is a good experience.
