My son has had several teeth pulled after receiving treatment on those same teeth at this office. We switched to a pediatric dentist after our last visit because it was so terrible and traumatic. My son was not treated with care and compassion like a young child should. I do not blame this office for the cavities or issues we sought care for, I understand thats not their fault, however their attempts to repair the issues were unsuccessful and my son was left with decay underneath that continued to grow until the teeth were unable to be saved. Every tooth they touched has either been pulled or has had more work to repair what theyve done. I explained to one of the dentists at this office (who they recommend for children) that I could smell decay in his mouth and she explained to me that sometimes as parents we think our children are a little stinky. She also refused to allow me to be in the room or near him while they completed work and never consulted me on the type of fillings. A pediatric dentist welcomes parents and would never do this. Thankfully the pediatric office we switched to listened to my concerns and worked with us to repair each and every terrible job done by this dental office. If youre considering this office for your children, I highly recommend you look for a pediatric dentist instead.

I can’t say enough wonderful things about this dental office. My family has been patients for over 9 years and we just love Dr. Backer. I was afraid of needles/injections and he cured me of that. I don’t even feel it when he’s giving me an injection. The Hygienists are all very friendly and explain everything you. We’ve seen some of the other doctors for exams at our cleanings and they were just as nice and informative. One other great thing is they do everything there. My husband needed an Implant and periodontal surgery and it was all done by Dr. Backer. He didn’t have to go to a specialist and pay higher fees for his implant. I needed a Root canal and a Crown and both were done right at Scotia Glenville Dental Center. We also like how the administrative people go over the cost of treatment and what the insurance pays so you know what you’d owe at the next appointment. They will also work with you on payments. My son even likes going to the dentist. He had his wisdom teeth take out before his Orthodontics. I recommend this dental office as a top notch office.

After having an unfortunate dental experience elsewhere, I am very glad I found Scotia Glenville Dental Center. Not only is this office clean, efficient, and state of the art, but Dr Stress and Monica take the time to relate to me as a person (an important part of patient centered care), asking about my family, explaining dental treatment options to be sure I fully understand, and providing answers to all my questions. Dr. Stess creates an environment where I am part of the decision making process. The dental care I have received has been outstanding; Dr. Stess knows his stuff. In addition, a family member who only went to the dentist every few years has now agreed to go for regular check ups because of Dr. Stesss great "chair side" manner. Because this practice does not participate with my insurance, it costs me a little more than an in-network provider might and it is worth every penny.

I have been to many dentists over many years - and because of lack of patient care (heart for the patients well being) I have avoided going. Since joining as a patient of this practice (in an emergent status) I have to tell you that this is the best office I have ever been in the world. Emergent care is not always the best but Dr D is to the point and may appear harsh at first as he tells you the truth, but the finish is the best because he makes sure you are ok and understands it - Most Drs dont. BUT add on that his entire staff wants to make sure you are ok, happy and well cared for is even better. Thank you to the entire office for all of the care you have given me in the past few weeks and for the first time I can say I am looking forward to my repeat visits.

Scotia Glenville Dental Center has many of the greatest Dentists and Hygiensts! They have VERY flexible hours, staying open as late as 8:00pm! I would recommend this dental office to everyone. They have great prices, outstanding hours, helpful & respectful co-workers and most of all great payment plans! They always have Dr. Backer on call so if you need a helping hand for a late night emergency or during the weekends, theyre the office to go to! Everyone there is very nice and willing to help you in any way. All treatment is pre-authorized and broken down into payments if needed! Office is very well clean and kept, I wouldnt go no wheres else! Thank you Scotia Glenville Dental Center for being one of the best business going!

If youre looking for a great Dentist in the Capital District, Jeff Backer (and company) is your man-- hes the best. A very skilled dentist who catches what others miss and runs a very efficient practice. Jeff is both skilled and no-nonsense (which I personally appreciate). As a result of that, unlike at other practices, things run very efficiently, and you can expect to be seen right when you are scheduled-- almost no waiting at nearly every visit Ive ever had-- great for those with a busy schedule. Also, Ive noticed in recent years they have added a lot of new technology, the stuff other practices didnt have (like lasers and new imaging devices, they had). HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

I was in need of a dentist so I opened the yellow pages and they had a few ads for the office. I phoned them and asked if they accepted my insurance and if they had any openings, the answer was yes to both.My appointment was that morning and I cant say enough positive things about the staff and Dr. Stess and his assistant Monica. The whole experience has been great and as a child I hated the dentist and they way that they took care of me. These are caring folks that are dedicated to the practice as well as the patients.I referred my husband I received a $50.00 credit for doing so..how many places offer that!
