I am so grateful that I found Dr. B! As a teacher and mother of 4, I am very knowledgeable in caring for children. He showed such compassion during our visits, and his sense of humor had my kids laughing and wanting to go back- even after they got their shots! His gentleness was coupled with thoroughness- even when they got their shots/ blood tests, the area was numbed so by the time they asked, "When are you going to do it?" he was already done and had them laughing! He thoroughly reviewed their records from a previous pediatrician and even detected 2 missed immunizations and something that had to be followed up on. Dr. B took the time to talk to them as people and get to know them, and gave me time to privately speak with him. They were taken on time for their appointments and were not rushed. He is there 7 days a week and can always be reached even after hours. His staff was as friendly as him- each lovely lady had a smile on their face and a kind word and conversation for my kids. His office manager is just as lovely and is always available to spend time with the parents and even converse with the kids who are not being examined at that time. Although treatments might sometimes be scary, the person delivering those should not be. There are doctors who are thorough and knowledgeable and others who have great fun and gentle bedside manners. This man has both! My only complaint is that he does not treat adults, because I would us him as my own doctor! LOL

I have known Dr Buonaspina for over twelve and a half years. I first met him when my twin preemie granddaughters were born, and each of them had numerous problems. Dr Buonaspina was like no Doctor I had ever met in my life. I always felt he was the way we wish every Doctor should be-caring, empathetic, super intelligent and unstoppable-when it came to tackling whatever problem arose. So Binyamina Zahavi- I really dont know what Dr Buonaspina you seem to have made such a warped backward impression of- but are so so far off base. Dr Buonaspina thought nothing of coming to the house-of opening his office on a Sunday or on a holiday weekend- if of course he was in town, and not out of the country working with Doctors without Borders. This dedicated man is an example of pure goodness-and he is owed an apology from Ms/Mr. Zahavi?

Worst doctor ever... do not go to this office... their office hours are false- as per the doctors words "I dont sit around doing nothing if there are no more patients- I dont care what the business hours say". Clearly he does not care about his patients or families that go to his practice. There have been times where he is so cold, doesnt even know the childrens names and recommends going to the ER instead of his office during hours (mind you he lives upstairs)... I will give the staff credit- they are very sweet girls, but clearly these people do not care to be around for their patients- how is a pediatricians office closed at 1 in the afternoon? Children are still in school and if anything happens after, they have to go to the ER as per the doctors words again. P.S HORRIBLE

Dr. Buonaspina is the most caring, supportive and compassionate doctor I have ever met. I never met a doctor who gives his private phone number to parents of very sick children and tell them to call if they have any questions any time, day or night. As a doctor who also specializes in infectious diseases, he is amazing. He does not do unnecessary testing and uses good judgement in treating patients. If you are lucky to live in Staten Island, I highly recommend Dr. Buonaspina as your pediatrician.

(I am writing in my daughters account being that I dont have a google account). Saying that Dr Buonaspina is an excellent dr is an understatement . He is caring ,understanding ,incredibly knowledgeable ... and a great diagnostician.. my daughter calls him "the no pain dr".because he numbs the area before a shot. Makes it a pleasant experience .... I am so happy we found him and I highly recommend !!! Simply THE BEST!!!!!
