We took our 1.5 year old puppy to the Veterinary Emergency Group for vomiting. Our regular vet was closed because it was the weekend. We told the staff and Dr. Lewis immediately upon walking in about our dogs medical history, which they noted on their records. I signed a waiver opting for Dr. Lewis to discuss any treatments with me before administering them. Dr. Lewis ended up administering an injection for the vomiting that was highly incompatible with our dogs medical condition and it caused serious damage to our dog. What makes it even worse is that Dr. Lewis did this without notifying us first! Also, our regular veterinarian told us that most vets should know that this injection is incompatible with our dogs condition, especially considering we told them about it and they noted it in their records immediately upon us walking in the door. As a result of this negligent treatment, Our dog had a recurrence of her disease, which had been in remission until we came to the Veterinary Emergency Group. Our dog was subsequently hospitalized for over two weeks and required 24 blood transfusions, all for a 10 pound dog!! Her hospitalization cost us over $11,000. This could have all been avoided had Dr. Lewis and the Veterinary Emergency Group done their job and actually disclosed their treatments to us before treating our dog and checking their prescription treatments with the dogs medical history, as required by the New York State Guidelines for Professional Conduct. Visiting the Veterinary Emergency Group was perhaps the worst mistake we have ever made. It cost us 11,000 and almost the life of our dog. Our dog will be on steroids for the next 10 months and her quality of life is not close to what it was before this recurrence. Thank you Veterinary Emergency Group and Dr. Lewis.. This is perhaps the worst animal hospital out there.

The health of our beloved kitty Bella went downhill very quickly on a Sunday and we were forced to bring her here to be euthanized. We were seen immediately but the staff and doctor had a difficult time injecting her. It seemed to us that there was a level of inexperience. They took her away and when they brought her back to us, she was already gone. I was so sorry that she was unable to see me as she passed - she was probably so frightened. Our hearts were broken as we stood waiting for our bill to be generated. Here too there was some difficulty and it seemed to take forever. The lobby was beginning to fill and we found it very awkward and uncomfortable. We provided all of our credit card info and left. The next day I received a call from the bookkeeper stating that they refused to release her to the crematory until we paid the bill. I was very angry and explained that we had left the information with instructions to charge the card. The worst though was when I received a call from our vet 3 days later asking how Bella was doing. These people didnt even bother to call them to tell them what had happened as they indicated was their procedure. I hope I NEVER have to use this place again!

My puppy had been bitten by another dog. The receptionist was extremely pleasant. While I had to wait quite a while - more serious emergencies, understandably came first. But when it was our turn, we had Dr. Bressers undivided and unhurried attention. When the puppy seemed nervous being on the exam table, Dr. Bresser sat down on the floor and examined the dog on the floor. He said dogs are comfortable on the floor so he will happily go down to meet them and examine them there whenever possible. He was extremely thorough - making sure the bite I knew about was the only puncture. He then had his staff shave the area, clean the area and then the flushed the area. We left with antibiotic, pain killer and total confidence that we had been properly and thoroughly treated. (Said we should go to our own vet for a rabies booster.) All the staff was highly compassionate and professional.

Our 14 year old diabetic cat started having hypoglycemic seizures Saturday night, and we brought her here to see if anything could be done. Her glucose levels were essentially zero, and she was dehydrated. We were ready to give up on her, but Dr. Stephenson and the team performed triage to get glucose and liquids into her, and kept at it until her levels started rising after 6 hours. The next morning we didnt know if we should continue, but over the day her levels stabilized and Dr. Nair weaned her off the glucose solution. Today (monday) shes back home and as alert as if nothing happened. We cant thank Dr. Stephenson and the team enough for their dedication and responsiveness for bringing her back to normal.

My boyfriend and I took our teacup Yorkie to the emergency vet around midnight hours after he got neutered to get a cone to prevent licking. Every pet store was closed and we didnt know what to do, so we called up the emergency vet and they said to come on down and pick one up. They showed us how to put the cone on and off, along with showing us the correct position/how to hold our little guy when giving him medicine. It was our first time going there and we have nothing but positive things to say about this location and the staff! Shout out to Tez and Richard for taking the time to talk to us and answer all of our questions!!!

I rescued an abandoned cat and it was after hours. My regular vet recommended that I go to The Veterinary Emergency Group. I was a bit nervous but went anyway. The staff was EXTREMELY friendly not only to me but to the cat. They were caring and very thorough. The even followed up with me to see how the cat was doing. They made sure I had all the paperwork I needed to bring to my vet when it was time for a follow up. They actualy took better care of Garfield and me than most hopsitals take care of humans. Thank you everyone at the group for everything. You a very kind and compassionate people.

Our Siberian Husky puppy was stepped on by a larger family dog and showed signs of severe pain late on a Saturday night. We were relieved to find the Veterinary Emergency Group open 24 hours a day. The vet and owner Dr. David Bessler was kind to our dog and thoroughly explained care instructions for his splint and cone. We were there from 2-4am but staff acted as though it was the middle of the afternoon. The receptionist was so kind and made us feel comfortable Im thankful to have such a convenient and equipped facility so close to home, just in case an emergency arises!

One of my (3) shelties (Shannon) became very ill in the middle of the night (3 am) -- crying to let us know she was in pain with a urinary tract infection; we need she needed medical attention and medication to relieve her discomfort. Very fortunately, the Veterinary Emergency Group in White Plains provides this critical support and helped Shannon with the needed medications! All of my (3) sheltie girls have had very emergency positive experiences...both medical care and extremely supportive staff! Thank you for being there for our furry baby family members!
