Deplorable, horrible......beyond awful. USED to be acceptable place to take pets to save on costs for basic service. Took our dog here last summer to be neutered. Staff are rude perhaps because they are so overworked and overwhelmed by the constant crowded conditions. They act stupid too. Really bad. what one poster said about waiting all day, is very true and is the reason that put me over the top with my decision to never ever come back here. (Id been taking my cats and stray cats here for many many years mind you) But now the clinic is so overwhelmed and b/c there are no appointments you are advised (if you can get someone on the phone in the first place) to show up way before they open and that you will need to get in the line , that has formed already more than an hour before they open, and if that is not bad enough, like the other poster said you will still be there all day and MAY not get seen. WTH kind of system is that? and having a dog now, in the dog waiting area, you are like sardines with all these other people and dogs and trust me they are not all well behaved and fights break out. I believe there is a notice somewhere if your dog is not sociable to take it outside but not everyone does that. if you are "lucky" enough to be seen, the staff makes you feel like you are a burden and they dont even talk to you. also when I had my dog neutered I was charged for things I had not agreed to , like the application of a flea medicine (Advantage plus) AND interestingly , my dog did not have fleas before taking him there but he did after. So , why did they charge me for that when I specifically said "no , I do not want that treatment" and THEN it seems they must not have even put it on him. Having no way of knowing if they did or didnt , I can only go by the fact he came home infested with fleas.

I got my puppy spayed here. Very professional. The staff is super friendly, and very helpful throughout the entire process. When I set up the apppointment the lady on the phone was patient and explained everything in detail. They even called the day before as a friendly reminder. The day of surgery I was able to just drop off my puppy with no wait since I had an appointment. When I picked her up, the lady who released my puppy was so funny and down to earth. She was very clear with post-op care instructions and that was that. The only thing I was kinda meh about was that they used surgical glue instead of stitches. I mean the lady explained why its more beneficial but still, maybe Im being old-fashioned, or maybe I just dont know enough about it, in my mind when they said glue, my mind pictured elmers glue. Obviously they didnt use that because my puppy healed 100% but during the 7-10 days of healing I felt I had to keep a very very close eye on her so that the incision wound wouldnt rip open. I give them 5 stars because my puppy healed 100%, they were professional and friendly the whole way. They also have the best price too if u dont have a voucher, like how I didnt. I looked around and other places charge $150+. At Golden State its $75+ depending on the species, gender and size. I definitely recommend this place. Just set an appointment though, or else you WILL have to wait because a lot people go there. If u dont make an appointment its better to go right when they open because its a first come first serve at that clinic.

I have years coming to this place, but the last two times and the same young women treated me poorly today She me left waiting 45 minutes waiting to pay only because I told her that if I had problems with the computer I paid for the phone on Monday. All who are in front and behind whas charge and she let me left. the last girl with long black hair down the shoulders.. this is correct??

My dog has been treated at this clinic for the past 7 months for an eye infection prone to his breed. He has been treated for same problem in past by golden state humane society as well as other vets. 7 months ago they insisted on eye drops only. After 4 refills and 2 appointments later (1 in which a mange infested dog was allowed to be in the waiting area) I insisted they prescribe antibiotics! A lengthy debate with Dr. Aspirin over the phone who said he did not agree with the need for antibiotics and wanted to refer me to a specialist and I explained my dogs history of this condition and antibiotic being a proven remedy the vet agreed to prescribe. Upon picking up the medication I was met by Dr. Aspirin who said he would be prescribing the same antibiotic they prescribed me 3 yrs ago for the same condition (which completely contradicts him saying he does feel antibiotics are appropriate in our conversation) needless to say I was charged $72 (on top of the $100s + for them letting this drag on for 7 months (nice no profit price!!) After 2 refills and more vet cost eye infection still present. I took him back 3 weeks ago

I hate to give this place a bad review, but my experience was abysmal. Even though this place has its share of bad reviews, I figured our visit would be okay considering my dog only needed his routine shots and a heart worm test. For the vaccinations and heart worm test I ended up paying about $45 total. The volunteer who administered the shots was kind but seemed to have no clue what she was doing. First, she inserted the needle into my dog four times before she was able to successfully draw blood. My dog is five years old and this has never happened in his life. Finally, when she administered his rabies shot, evidently she hadnt injected the needle far enough because her hand slipped and about a quarter of what was in the vile ended up on my dogs leg and on the floor. Even though the shots were cheap, I feel awful for putting my dog through that. If you want your pet cared for in competent hands, I would seriously recommend paying the extra $30 for Petcos discount vet services.

Holy Moly this facility is the worst I have ever been too. The front office staff for the Vet are rude, unprofessional, snappy and aggressive. The pets have more manners than they do.They do have low cost pet services, but that does not give them the right to treat people like cramp! I was there for 5 hrs with my pet, no water no food. But it is how the office staff works and the attitude that is the worst experience. The day I was there I lost count of the mistakes they keeped making with people and their pets and that was scary. If you must go there take a lunch and food/water for your pet it is a horribly long wait, and that is hard on a sick pet. Please speak up if they are rude to you. The front staff has no compassion or love for pets because they are so busy, and they only have one Vet for tons and tons of people. These people work on donations and voluntary I hear but they still get a big fat 0!
