The staff was excellent. As a spouse of the patient their system stunk. All thru diagnosis and preparing for surgery I heard and read how the spouse should be a rock, an advocate for the patient. Suggestions were to accompany your wife to appointments, take notes and fight whatever battles were needed. On the day of surgery we arrived and checked in. A woman came out about 45 mins later and called my wifes name. Weather got up and the woman looked at me and replied "well call you back". No further explanation. My wife was scheduled for an 11:15 surgery. At 11:05 (45+ mins after they called her) I approached the desk and asked if I was going to see my wife before surgery. I was told she was still in preop and they would call me. About two mins after this confrontation I was called back. She. Had been laying on a gurney waiting. Surgery was delayed or we would have only had a few mins. As it was we had about 20-30 mins. Thankfully our surgeon was waiting too so I did get details of what to expect. After an hour and a half surgery I met with the surgeon and was told agin that Id be called. After an hour of waiting I was told to move my car to the discharge area. I was allowed in to see my wife long enough to get her instructions and accompany her to the car. My feeling is this facility could care less about the patients "advocate" that they encourage in their literature. I could have dropped my wife off at the door and left them my cell # to call me when they were done. Again, the staff itself were very professional and caring when it came to care of my wife but I was definitely unneeded.

A Quality Center: Could not express enough appreciation for the quality of care I received from Doctor Deborah Wilson and her Team, as well as the entire staff at the Piper Surgery Center (Pam, Registration, Deb P. RN, Mary RN, Hulda RN, Liz PCT, etc) . The recovery area felt very calming. It was a very well kept, clean and updated facility. I truly appreciated being allowed to just sleep off my pain the day of recovery. The staff kept me pretty calm and comfortable the entire time. I loved the peppermint tea, not only for its help in reducing gas, it added to my ability to focus on a peaceful quiet recovery. I met my goals because staff encouraged me. I was really impressed by the professionals I came into contact with. They let me know how much better I was going to feel by having the procedure done. I learned the benefits they personally experienced, what steps to look for on the road to recovery. My quality of life has already improved because of these people. The fact that the majority of the ladies I encountered had the procedure done by Doctor Wilson made me feel blessed, almost as if I was inducted into a sisterhood or an honorary womans society. The fact that Doctor Wilson is an animal advocate indicates a deep understanding that "all life is sacred." You will be well taken care of at the Piper Surgical Center. I hope the facility will continue focusing on the sort of recovery provided to me because it was exceptional. I just needed a place to breath through it.

The Center itself it great however the pre surgery and financial department have incompetent staff members. They are a scam. I was given a quote 2 minutes prior to going into surgery and then received a bill 3 times that amount. When I called into finances they expected me to remember the name of that person in pre surgery I spoke with. Ridiculous! The supervisor of the financial department did nothing but apologize. There was no offer to assist me in finding that person. Of course they have no notes or records of giving me this quote. I recommend calling your insurance company yourself and not trusting these people.

I was very unsatisfied with the care I recieved while in this facility!!! There seemed to be little to no communication that wouldve told certain nurses I dealt with that I had two procedures done and that I was in extreme pain and would require a little more attention and help from them.

I was treated with kind and profesional staff that were very thorough. All of the Drs., and nurses, and especially the post operative nurses were wonderful. I couldnt be happier with my experience there. If you need a hospital, this one is top of the line.
