Life changing event: I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis in 2009, and have been under heavy medication for the last 6 years; my right ankle started swelling with extreme pain about 3 years ago and I was under pain management for 2 years for 5 degenerating discs in my lower back. The pain in the leg and back were so sever at times I would awake at night in tears. I have always been able to handle pain but this was more than any person should have to deal with. For the RA I was on 500 mg ramacaid for 6 years, arava 20 mg daily, 50 mg tramadol 2/day, and 500 mg naproxen ( Anti-inflammatory) 2/ day, I had the RA in check but concerned with the amount of heavy medication. The leg pain/swelling could not be determined why or where it came from. I had 2 vein ablations on the right leg with no positive results. The next step was more ablations on the smaller veins which insurance said wasnt needed and would be out of pocket. 2 MRI,s on the lower back showed the discs were degenerating from the L5 to S1, the pain from this was consistent and hard to sit still or walk. I even hard difficulty riding in a car much less walk more than a few yards. I would get a cyanic pain running down both legs and had to sit. I was under pain management for 2 years. 6 epidurals, 2 ablations and a nerve block which had no results. It was when the pain doctor wanted to do another series of 3 epidurals I said enough is enough. At that point I started researching stem cell procedures. I found there were several types and procedures and is wasnt until I was referred to dr Malan from others in the medical field I wanted to discuss my situation with him. My first visit was amazing and he spent a couple of hours with my wife (a nurse) and I explaining the procedure and answering all our questions. We decided this was the next step and I felt the expense was well worth improving my quality of life. As it was explained to me, the process was fairly quick and out patience in his office. In addition, the recovery time to allow the stem cells to work is like a roller coaster. Some weeks are great other weeks are not so good. I kept a log and as I looked back on the entries I was amazed at the progress. The pain in the right ankle/lower leg stopped immediately. I stopped all RA meds in March and the ramacid in January and the RA "flair ups" didnt start for 5 months and definitely manageable. The pain in the back subsided from the start to the most part and completely stopped by the 3rd month. It has been 7 months since the procedure in mid March but I can say with all sincerity, this was a life saving event for me. There were days I asked the good lord to just take me now and Im glad he didnt. Im starting to go to the gym and using muscles I forgot I had. If you want to feel better and regain the quality of life you lost, see Dr. Malan and check this procedure out. The best way to describe my journey is "today was better than yesterday but not as good as tomorrow".

Im the incredible shrinking woman with a much younger appearance to boot! :) It has been almost 3 months since Dr. Malan performed a high volume liposuction. At 2 month marker I was getting rather distressed because I was not seeing the changes that I was hoping for...then at about the 10th week the swelling finally started to really go down. Now everyday Im excited to see whats happening! I wont lie. High volume lipo is no joke. It took a lot out of me and I was very exhausted and bruised the first week. The pain meds are definitely needed, but really do work. That being said the recovery time went surprisingly fast and at 10 weeks you wouldnt even know I had anything done...except that I went from wearing a solid size 10 to a large size 6...and Im not even close to seeing final results! Because they can use the stem cells from the fat they are taking out, I made a last minute decision to include the face. Thank God I did! I literally cant believe the difference AND as a bonus the skin that is being revived and lifted in my face has helped the ugly neck that I was getting at way too young of an age (Im 49). Dr. Malan and his staff are kind, knowledgeable and excellent at what they do. I feel very grateful that my instincts were correct that he would do the best work on my behalf. When you go for consultation Dr. Malan will come in and very clearly explain what he does and how his technique is different. This is where my instincts kicked in and I just knew he was who I trusted. Only thing Id add is go in asking about more than you think you want so you get a better overview from the Dr. I didnt ask about the stem cell procedure and almost missed out on seeing my face go from looking 50 to a smooth completely natural (because it is natural) late 30s - very early 40s. BTW- I have written 3 reviews in my life this one, another for Malan on yelp and one for a local business that is amazing. Dr. Malan deserves this review!

I rarely take the time to write reviews , but my experience has been so positive that I felt it deserves mentioning so that others may have the opportunity to experience the positive outcome I have. I am a dentist, and one of the hazards of my profession is back and neck problems from chronic leaning forward and looking down to treat patients. After 20 years of practice I developed herniations in my cervical spine which were causing me daily pain as well as numbness. I had tried several treatment options including physical therapy, chiropractic treatment, and steroid epidurals. Each of which gave me slight improvements but didnt provide me the long term solutions I was searching for. I had consulted with a prominent neurosurgeon who indicated I would need surgery to replace two discs at C5 and C6 . Although I trusted his opinion, I was not ready at my age to undergo such an invasive procedure with the inherent risks associated. As a health care provider who understands what to look for in a physician, I was comfortable with Dr. Malans extensive experience with harvesting stem cells. I am currently approximately three months post my stem cell procedure and I can honestly say that my neck feels better than it has in years. I no longer feel the chronic pain that I used to everyday and the numbness in my fingers is slowly disappearing. Dr. Malans team is professional and friendly, I always felt well cared for from the consultation all the way to the follow up calls post surgery. I believe stem cells will continue to be a huge benefit to many health conditions by assisting our body to heal itself. I strongly recommend anyone considering this type of treatment to have a consultation with Dr. Malan. He is an expert on the topic and passionate about what he does and he genuinely cares about his patients. Anyone reading this feel free to contact me personally , Im happy to share my experience in even more detail.
