I absolutely don’t recommend this hospital to anyone. On 01/13/16, I took our little cat to Briarwood Animal Hospital because of some blood in his urine. I informed them about my cat’s previous kidney problem (in 2013, the cat felt from 6th floor previously and one of kidney seriously was injured) , and added that I was suspecting my cat’s kidney problems. We asked Dr. Hale to perform blood test for his kidneys. He recommended us perform several blood tests, we accepted and did accordingly. Looking at the test results, he told us that our cat was experiencing bladder infection and nothing was wrong with my cat’s kidneys. The doctor recommended us give the antibiotic (he prescribed) to my cat for two (2) weeks, and feed with the prescription food he recommended. I did accordingly, but during this treatment period, my cat suffered from pain, and completely lost his interest in eating, and lost one (1) pound. Actually, we all suffered: our cat suffered from pain and hunger, and we suffered from stress and sleeplessness. During this time, I informed the doctor about my cat’s health situation, and during one conversation with him, I asked the doctor to change the antibiotic as I felt the medicine was making my cat’s situation worse.the veterinarian prescribed another medicine. The new medicine did not help either. During this time, we had to visit an After Hours Animal Clinic (Pleasant Valley Vet Clinic) two (2) times in the middle of night. Feeling desperate, we showed result of the test conducted by Dr. Hale on 01/13/16 to another veterinarian. Looking at the test results for a few seconds, he told us that, our cat had been suffering from serious kidney problem: renal failure, because my cats nephron tubes are seriously damaged. After showed several other veterinarians on online forums and discussions, we suspected that Dr. Hale’s interpretation of the test result was incorrect. On 12/26/15 I took our cat to the Briarwood Hospital, and asked Dr. HALE if he was still sure of the test results and asked him to check the results again. After conducted another (same-type) blood test, Dr. Hale told us that the main problem was may cat’s kidneys (something I reminded him during each visit to the hospital). Our cat’s kidneys were not working and the doctor told us that the best thing to do for us is to make him sleep forever. We (me and my husband) had to follow his recommendation, because our cat was still suffering from intense pain and yelping. Dr. Hale should have focused on his kidneys and should have considered potential kidney issues specially when I asked him to do so frequently. I have been their customer since 2012 and during each visit since 2013 I informed him about my cat’s kidney problem. (When you don’t listen to your client’s problem and requirements, your years of experience is out of work!) Dr. Hale failed to provide quality animal health-care service, he caused an animal and us to suffer for 13 days. Instead of apologize, he was rude, pushy, and aggressive to us. I still hear the pain of our cat in my ears, I see my cat in my eyes every day. I will never forgive them, and will absolutely NOT recommend The Briarwood Hospital to anyone love their animal.

We have had nothing but good experiences with Briarwood Animal Hospital for the past 13 years. They treat our pets like they are family and keep track of them. Staff members who may not be part of our "care" when we go for checkups come just to say "Hi" to our two dogs. They really are special people. In addition to being such caring individuals, they have been wonderful to work with over the years. They give recommendations for preventative care, but are not pushy and leave the decision up to the family. When making recommendations, they are always upfront about the cost. When we have had questions, they have been patient with us as "parents" and have always explained things in a way we can understand. Lastly, I want to talk about their boarding facilities. The first time we boarded our first dog, Gracie Belle, she grieved for us like we had given her back (she was a rescue). They kept great records on her care, and called us to ask if they could try to get her to socialize with another dog because she was so sad. It made a huge difference to us to know that they cared enough to give her the extra TLC. When she needed to board the next time, she was perfectly fine without us in the care of these special people. I wouldnt go anywhere else!

We LOVE Briarwood! Dr. Ashley has taken care of all 3 of our dogs... with problems ranging from severe arthritis to throat cancer to extreme old age. She offers sound advice & is well versed in a wide range of treatment options, in order to help a family make as informed a decision as possible, & one that fits best with the familys needs. Shes very gentle & even my ultra-scaredy-cat mastiff loved her. Shes amazing & I wont trust my babies with anyone else! The staff there is friendly, helpful, & empathetic (Teddy, especially). It is very obvious how much they all love animals. Sadly, our dogs are no longer with us (the oldest passing just 2 weeks ago), & additionally we are in the process of moving out of state... so I no longer have an excuse to visit them. If I could, Id move Briarwood with us, so they could care for the new babies who may join our family some time in the future. Im going to miss them so much. We have used a total of 7 clinics across 3 states, as weve moved, & Briarwood has been by far my favorite! I really cant recommend them enough!

You dont realize the value in a truly amazing vet clinic until you move and have a poor experience elsewhere. The entire staff is incredible, but the vets I have seen always blow me away with the time and effort they spend making sure you fully understand everything necessary to properly care for your pets. I dont feel the prices are any higher than other vets as others are saying, but even if they were these folks would be worth every penny. My fur babies and I will be making the drive every time.

We have taken our dogs to briarwood since we moved here. While the staff is nice they overcharge. Not only do they overcharge but the do unnecessary tests to rack up your bill. Twice now our dogs have been sick and there was never a solution from them just more tests. Over $1,000.00 later and still no idea what the problem is. Their solution more tests and charging us more... I would suggest price shopping before coming here.

Five stars for grooming. sylvia is my groomer of choice for my doodle and terrier. I know she takes great care of them and I know she loves my animals like theyre her own. She listens and you can bet if you ask for something, shell do her best to accommodate you. My Lu loves going to Briarwood and acts like an angel! Thanks Sylvia and Briarwood for A+ experiences each and every time!

First time to this vet today and they were all very friendly. My cat was not very co-operative but they all laughed about it and still got the job done. I will be returning to this vet in the future. The visit cost about $95 dollars for those who are curious on the pricing. We did get ear medication, however, so that probably rose the price a bit.
