I was there for a week. Most of the people were nice and seemed to know what to do. The building is old and poorly designed. There were 2 plumbing fails and a telephone system fail during my stay. The beds are such that the break where it tilts up is not in the spot where your back would normally bend. I am average height and weight, Taller people would be even more uncomfortable. The linens are rough and the hand soap has fragrance that is not appealing when you are fighting nausea. I had a bed by the window. There was an air vent in the ceiling above my bed which made it hard to regulate my body temperature. Just outside the window, 7 feet from my bed, was a sitting area that employees used for their breaks. I was unable to escape their personal conversations even with the window shut. The gardener came at a time when I needed pain and nausea medication, had a headache and needed to use the bathroom. He literally spent 10 minutes with the mower in the same small area just feet away from me. For coffee and soda drinkers: If you are unable to have these as you normally would, you WILL have terrible headaches. I finally figured out what was causing my headache and had to ask for an Excedrin which fixed it. (Excedrin has caffeine. I only took one and later broke it in half). If you can make it to SLO, go to French.

Rude, lazy, condescending nurses. Openly violate confidentiality in front of other patients. Right in the hallways. And then harass us after we left the e.r. The nurses didnt even give me daughter the medicine the doctor ordered. Some little filipino registration chick harassed us also. After our daughters emergency. And the had to hear the nurses talk badly about patients, and who was going have sex after work. Disgusting place. I would rather die then go to this place ever again. Avoid and let the state know about these lops.

I was hospitalized after major surgery. The surgery and their staff were great.....BUT once admitted to the floor it was a nightmare until I was discharged. The nursing care was horrible....I will never go back to Arroyo Grande Hospital again! The worst experience of my life....one doctor, later told me, they never admit their patients to Arroyo Grande Hospital! Numerous people have also told me horror stories. This hospital needs to get it together. This is an on going issue that should not be!

This is the worst place on the planet, I went to ER, wrong information given to me, pointed on the paper where to sign without explanations. I asked , what will be the charge to stitch the cut(3 stitches) , they told me will be $620, I paid , then I received the bill from the hospital and second one from the Physicians for $3900,(45 min visit)......... very poor service ......

I have made two visits to the Arroyo Grande ER this year. I want to express my thanks to the staff that treated me on both occasions. The attention was overwhelming good. I felt safe and in good care. Everyone from the doctors who treated me, to the nurses that tended to my needs at my bedside treated me with the utmost care. Thank you all so much. P Hennessy

Really disappointed in the outpatient PT department. Our family member was referred to AGH for outpatient PT for rehab of spinal cord injury. Therapist had no idea of what to do or how to help him, even working on simple transfer or balance techniques. Unless you have the most simple issue, I would carefully assess before going to outpatient PT here.

Went to the ER Sun morning with horrible back/abdomen pain, was admitted and had emergency surgery to remove my gallbladder on Mon, then was out by Tues. Everyone was great!! All my nurses and doctors were awesome, and coming from me (also a nurse) that means a lot. It was nice to be the one getting babied and taken care of for once lol thanks guys! :)

What an incredible speedy experience! I actually live about 4hrs away. We are on vacation and my daughter got but by a spider. This was the nearest hospital and seriously the best hospital experience and care ive ever experienced! great doctors speedy but thorough. Much better than where we live :)

My grandpa had a massive stroke and they waited almost 3 hours to try and remove the clot in his brain for reasons unknown. Even the Dr. said ok, lets give it to him and about 40 min later he got the medicine. Now he may never move again. AG has a history of poor ER care.

Unfortunately our family has been seen about 6 times within the past year in the ER at AG Hospital. Every time we have gone, we have been treated very professionally and attended to quickly and thoroughly. Id recommend this facility for their outstanding ER Dept.

Had to visit the ER during our family vacation. All of the staff, from check-in to attending physician, were great. So nice to have an ER experience with a welcoming environment and quality people. Wish I had this in my hometown; thanks again.

I went to the ER with a bout of ketoacidosis and was promptly admitted into ICU. The entire staff - from admitting to ER to ICU - was attentive and professional. No problems at all. A matter of fact... Thank you, AG, for saving my life.

good staff when I went in for gall bladder removal. But I cannot believe they have to send samples to another hospital to be processed. Although they did follow up with me after my phone call

Great small town hospital. Friendly, helpful and caring staff. Is enlarging and does have access to other resources in the Dignity Healthcare system.
