Im a railroad employee, taken of the train for multiple medical issues on may 29th. Was taken to the truckee hospital for medical care. It was some of the most unprofessional care I have ever received. I was treated by Dr johnathon e laine. And the acting nurse was whittney. I was admitted for copd and other medical issues. During my visit and getting evaluation Dr laine told me nothing was wrong with me That I wouldnt have been there if I knew how to use my abuteral inhaler. Also the x-ray technician knocked of my oxygen mask with medicine and it broke all over the floor, letting the RN know and she called it in ,and they never replaced the medication I was supposed to get. In addition I was having trouble with my right hand and shoulder and kept saying that ,oh the doctor will take a look, and DR johnathon e laine looked at my hand and said sir theres nothing wrong with you I have the same bumps on my hand see look. DR Johnathon e.laine sure expressed how I wasted his time in the ER. upon my release, they came in and said sir were gonna move you to another room. Get all your belongings and go through those double doors and have a seat. 40 minutes later I go up to the reception desk and ask whats going on, let me check for you sir. I was told oh youve been released ,oh really. The following morning my employer contacts me from their legal department, one of two calls and I was still having major copd attacks not being able to breath almost calling 911 These calls are on government recorded lines. Since getting back to Chicago and being seen by several physicians and still being treated medIically and as of August 30th. 2017 and some time to come until I can be physically released. They have taken exrays ,cat scans, and MRI showing major spinal and problems with my right hand and arm. They had to give me injections into my hand and right shoulder helping but still having spinal issues. I would never return to this hospital or recommend it to anyone. As of august 30th, Im still under drs care Dr johnathon e laine is definitely not an asset to the truckee hospital. DR Johnathon e laine, was very arrogant, and had no compassion or empathy for me. Just some damn smoker who didnt know how to use an abuteral inhaler, wasting my time in the ER. And DR laine was very blunt about this.

Make sure you keep your records and payments receipts if you go here. After paying my bill for an ER visit, I held onto my payment confirmation for over a year before shredding it. 2 years after my ER visit, with no contact with Tahoe Forest Hospital since my final payment, I get a call from a collection agency for the full amount of the initial bill. I requested an itemized account statement since I no longer have my verification of payment. Not only did they never send me the requested statements, the collection agency charged me $150 in interest while I waited. In the end I had to pay the bill all over again plus fees and interest to minimize the damage they did to my credit. I dont know if this was done out of incompetence or with malicious intent, but the moral of the story is hold onto proof of payment for at least 5 years to them double dipping into your wallet.

Having been in the hospital for child birth, parental conditions and another surgery, I have to give Tahoe Forest a definite five star rating. From the kindness of the nurses to the absolutely delicious hospital food to the cleanliness of the entire facility I was absolutely astounded. If I should ever need orthopedic surgery again, Tahoe Forest is where I will go!

My mother died, with a small (under 500) balance due here. I told them, and explained it would take a little bit to pay due to the amazingly slow pace that probate court goes at, since the estate was the debtor. They said they understood, and then later sent the debt to collections. Do not trust this hospital as far as billing goes.

After a sledding mishap I had to call 911 for my son. They brought him to Tahoe Forest Hospital- They were awesome! The doctor and nursing staff were so nice. They even gave me a disc with the hospital report and xrays to give to my local dr. They had us out after a few hours. Everyone was so great to a very freaked out mom.

I had emergency gall bladder surgery that was very unexpected. I arrived at the ER and my ultrasound was misread but they got the correct information once I had a CT scan. Once admitted, I received excellent care, the procedure went smoothly and everyone was professional and very nice - great nurses!

Great care in Truckee. But expensive. I now use less expensive lab and X-ray services in Reno and Carson to avoid massive out-of-pocket costs due to gaps in what TFH charges and what my insurance will pay. PT services in Incline a bit of a circus (front desk issues).
