This is the worst experience. Do not repeat DO NOT HAVE YOUR BABY HERE. Ive had 3 kids and every experience is great for both the family and the baby. This is the 1st time in 40yrs where they dont let the father start overnight, they didnt let the family in Even if youre the mother or mother in law youre not able to bring them nothing before 10am yes even breakfast etc or a blanket because the rooms are freezing and the baby needs socks because its so cold. They wont let anyone see the baby after the birth if its after "visiting hours" even if they have been there for more then 8hrs during the labor waiting to see their grandchild. They make such a glorious miracle feel like youre in jail. They messed up in her vains causing unnecessary additional pain. They screwed up on her lab test, blood work having to do it again saying because her test results came out bad she is unable to have epidural and caused the mom to worry about her health. Then had to redo the test (she faints with needles) and everything was fine so all that worrying was also unnecessary stress. Then when they said she can have an epidural they have it to her and only worked on 1/2 her body and she still felt all the same intensity because even the side that worked some she still felt everything just not as much as the other side. They took the instruments out of the room for the baby before they were used also a possible contamination issue and brought the same ones back in the room to use. I hope this is all Brevard the stay isnt over..... THUMBS DOWN ALL THE WAY The only positive portion of this hospital is her nurse was amazing with her the whole time both her labor & delivery nurse and her postpartum nurse absolutely outstanding. This Hospital is the worst Ive seen in all my life. If they had a no stars I would select that.

Dont go. 7 hours waiting to be seen for a black widow bite that turned necrophiliac 8 days after the injury. i was bitten on back side of my forearm, where i couldnt directly see the hole it had left in me. after a week+ of soaking and a couple of failed attempts of lancing/draining, i had started to feel "toxic", is the only way for me to describe it. i described this "toxic" feelings to my neighbor, who is a nurse. which led to the bite that happened over a week before. showing her the wound, she immediately said that it was necrophiliac, as i had not known the word before this, and said i should been by a physician, IMMEDIATELY., as it would require draining and antibiotics at this stage. there had been pronounced swelling in my left foot also. so i went to the ER at doctors hospital, where i sat for 7+hours and was never seen. i informed the desk of my leaving, they wanted me to sign a A.M.A.(against medical advise) form, i told them if i had been seen by a physician, i would. As i had not, i would not. i went to the neighborhood clinic the following morning, and was promptly treated. the following week, i received a letter from doctors hospital stating that my insurance had been billed a total of over $1,600.00 dollars for my visit to them. $1,600.00 to sit and wait 7 hours, in their lobby! $1,600.00 for nothing but the "privilege" of signing my name to their lobbies waiting to be seen list. What a bunch of liars and thieves, and this ladies and gentlemen, is WHY our state is so-called "broke". it is the wholesale robbing and pillaging of every penny that has ever been paid to any reserve of our healthcare, retirements, ect. by the lawyers, doctors, and politicians. SCUM is not a bad enough word to describe these people, and the staff that enable this form of atrocity.

I have been in a lot of hospitals with my mom and dad both having lots of medical problems. I have found the whole staff at DMC to be the absolute best of them all. They are friendly, compassionate, understanding, and knowledgeable. From the waiting room to the ER, to the ICU, to the fourth floor hospital rooms. The doctors took time to listen and ask the right questions then to discuss what tests, or procedures would be done and why they should be done. I was informed and included in every discussion and decions made were done together. The nursing staff was the best I have ever witnessed not once was there someone not available and did not mind me asking questions they are compassionate and their patients are their top priority. They even went out of their way to make me comfortable as I stayed with my father every day and night he was there. The people who prepare their meals come around and give choices for each meal as if ordering from a menu I never had seen this done before they felt the patients were already sick or in pain why make them suffer thru s meal they may not enjoy. The security guards are available to escort you to your car anytime and the ER staff although overloaded with people needing help never once just checked you in and move on I witnessed during my wait countless times people came out with updates of worried family in the waiting room.I could go on and on but I will just say I recommend them and they are the only hospital I would ever recommend and I have been to dozens. Thank you DMC for taking such good care of my father and myself

My mom was here and she was placed in a private room, because there was an ungodly smell on first floor called dungeon. But 3rd floor South , the Staff was amazing. She had great food, and ate all of it. She was treated very well by the physicians and even after she left they sent her a card in the mail. With the third floor staff signatures hoping she got well sooner. The staff was very cooperative with me, and even when she was in emergency room, they brought her a tray of food. Nice salad, bowl of spaghetti and big brownie, nice and moist. . we had to come back again on 3/2/2016 due to a fall at the Board and Care Home, A place Called Home. Where she was being pushed out forcefully and tumbled out of walker onto the grass and driveway. My mother is 91 and Doctors Medical center took her as soon as possible, they xrayed her hand and rib cage and then had respiratory therapist check her oxygen while waiting to be seen by doctor. When discharged about 2 and half hours later, the discharge nurse helped me out to parking lot and actually rolled mom in wheel chair to my car. She gave me a hug of comfort and was so very kind and sympathetic. Though they are County, they sure treated my mom well. Thank you so much.

I have been looking for my daughter for 4years.She was taken to D.M.C. yesterday by ambulance and l was finally notified. My husband(Jens Dad) rushed down to find the situation out. She is severely SICK. For the first time I heard her say"Mom, I want to come home"! Shes been living on the Streets for 4yrs. My answer to one of my many prayers. I call NURSES STATION first thing to frantically find anything out. Im Jennifer Haynes, Mother and I be been looking for her for years. Her only next of kin(PARENTS). We have custody of her children, because shes unable! Her Dad gave the hospital our Address,so she could be signed up for Insurance, left my cell phone number. Now, she is so severely SICK and doesnt have control over her body functions. The nurse still refuses to tell me anything, because of her Rights! They wouldnt know anything if we didnt tell them her medical history. Jennifer is my only child AND was missing and living on the Streets. We want whats best for her Medically, Mentally, etc. She has no one, but us... Why do they make it impossible to get Homeless, Mental from Drugs off the Streets. Please dont shut us out. We love our daughter. Help us? Mother if a missing Daughter? Penny Wagenhoffer
